      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The problem of forging tools

9 posts in this topic

Hi, guys.

I have a problem with forging tools, if anyone has a list of all valid combinations.

For example, a punch, light hit, draw, etc..

I'll be very grateful!

I don't think Bioxx would allow such information to be posted, besides which it'd be pointless; valid combinations change from version to version, which I noticed while mass-producing Bismuth Chisels at one point before and after an update.

What, exactly, is the problem you have? Does the game not create a tool when you try to forge one?

Also when you generate a world I'm pretty sure that affects the recipes. So a combination that works for one tool might not work for the same tool in a different world.

I think he means by the 'rules' for forging. Like "hit last" etc. I haven't paid attention to verify this however.

Well, it is difficult to forge items.

The only thing I managed to chisel and a saw (a miracle)

A sword and picks can not.

If someone can give me some guide about forging, I would be very grateful.

I apologize for my mistakes, I come from Polish

I'll not try explaining myself, but here's a link to the Spotter's Guide video that covers smelting and forging:

Note however that the video was made with an old version of TFC, and is as such a little outdated; if you read the comments most if not all changes will be pointed out. Still, it does explain how to use the anvil and smith items, and while the exact combinations no longer work, the method used to find combinations is still valid.
