      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Well, thanks alot... The moment I downloaded the new patch, my PC got bombarded with trojans, with the rogue malware "Live Security Platinum" In the lead! Wtf! ANyone else experienced this!? since this was SHIT!

You didn't get it from the mod. I ran it through multiple scanners and everything is clean.

Well, I didn't download much else when the TFCraft-client-core-B2pre39 file was finished downloading and got spammed with viruses.

I doubt it came from this mod, I've downloaded and scanned each update for some time now.

You are aware that you dont necessarily have to download anything to get those Trojan warnings. They can come from just being at a site or even by opening your email that has it. You dont need to click on any links for some of them to take effect.

Your best bet is to reboot from a recent backup and then make sure all your virus protection is up to date.

It isn't the mod files that are the issue... Sites that use ad exchanges like adfly can get an infected ad since they can't really check the validity of tens of thousands of different ads. If you happen to load the page at the same time as the infected ad is due to appear, you may get infected as well. Just make sure you have a good virus program and your browser settings are secure and you should be fine.

i suggest direct download....i scan all tfc downloads and nothing ever comes up...also bioxx and the dev team put alot of time and effort into the mod just to kill off its fan base

Get AdBlock Plus along with NoScript!Adblock Plus it allows you to block internet ads,also helps keep you safe from malicious ads that try to load infected files onto your machine without warning. If the ads don't load, infected files can't load.And you can configure them to your preference.

ANd whatever you do, dont click on ANY part of a pop-up saying you need an antivirus, not even the close 'X' in the corner. Use task manager to kill it

You may have overlooked the actual source of the Trojan. I suggest re-installing the OS if it's really bad to just fix anything and everything. (Provided you know how to do that already.) If you don't do that then keep track of your bandwidth, sometimes malicious code steals bandwidth and causes network problems at home as well.
