      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

realistic seasonal trees

8 posts in this topic

I think you should make it to where in the fall the tree leaves change color and during winter all the leaves decay (besides evergreen of course) and come back in spring. I feel like this would fit the mod well, at least the first tfc. Not sure how the next one will be but i am sure itll be just as great as the first. I hope you take the time to consider my suggestion as i took the time to register this account for the sole purpose of voicing my idea

The leaves already change color on most trees, evergreens dont though, and some are hard to notice. As for leaf decay, that would be ugly, as all there would be is a bunch of wood poles in the ground that used to be a forest.

Yes itd be ugly but realistic. I didnt know they already changed color. And changing the texture to branches would be a good idea. The thought process behind it would be you cant get saplings from trees during winter but youd still be able to get sticks

fruit trees in TFC1 actually already turn to the branch texture when the temperature is too low

I think it should be temperature-dependant, and not season-dependant. Of course, with trees spawning in certain biomes, and the biomes having different temperatures throughout the  year, the trees will cycle through stuff...
