      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Is it possible to use TFC textures as a base for painting own textures within modpack? (modpack is under GNU licence).

I want to add some new ores, while it is not possible to make them transparent, I would like to paint them at the TFC sone canvas (and configure ore generator to spawn them only within certain stone type).

The entire mod is under the same open license, with the exception of the music. So your are free to use the textures.

Why isn't it possible to make them transparent? I just asked a similar question and was going to start playing with it myself.

Putting it in TFCOres will have it generate, but doesn't use any of the TFC code skinning the transparent portions with appropriate texture. There are some WIP addons that add in ores that do leverage TFC ore code. TFC-Tech does for Bauxite and I have a incomplete TechNodeTools addon that allows you to add ores and some other things.

So even if you made the textures transparent, it would just create ores on invisible blocks? I remember reading some discussion on this a few weeks back, and was hoping it was possible. Ah well, ciekma's solution is just as easy if you aren't adding too many ores. :)
