      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [Solved] Graphite only spawns in schist

I found graphite in marble the other day. It seems you just got unlucky. Also not every stone layer has to have every ore that can spawn in given stone type.
  2. A use for Galena

Well, maybe becouse it will kill steve? Yeah sure lead is easy to use low melting temp and all, but it is poisonous. So yeah, it was used. And many, many plives were lost too soon becouse of it. I'm not surprised Devs don't want to utilise it. There's a reason why lead is practically only used in batteries now.
  3. My first night QUESTIONS

I tend to build dirt+wood huts, waypoint them and leave them wherever I make them. Sometimes leave a large cdramic vessel inside with some stuff too. Those are really helpful later on if you want to explore- I already have a nice set of huts a day worth of walking apart. Also those make great mining outposts And before you find sheep, it is really great to be able to travel from spawn to home relatively safe. Also wood is not that expensive, and you don't need much for such thing.
  4. [Rule #1 & 2] latest, does sluicing work or not?

Are you trying to make a wooden bowl or are you putting a fired ceramic bowl in ypur crafting grid? Becouse recipie changed, and right now you have to create clay bowl, fire it and then craft it into gold pan. I recommed checking the wiki pottery page: http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Pottery Also sluice is a different thing with different mechanism. Check wiki if you're confused. Also please edit your topic so that it followes the support forum rules, I mean use the official template found here: http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/4662-read-before-posting-7913-official-bug-list/
  5. Jute Twine

To be honest I thought it is possible with spider string did not checked that, I'm sorry.
  6. Vegetation

OK, after some quick digging in the matter of medieval wheat yelds, it seems on avarage they'd get about 0,5t/ha. Thanks for making me realize that So it seems you'd need about 10-15 squares of wheat for a regular loaf of bread. But we already bake breads that are almost 10 times larger than normal ones, so being very exact in food yelds seems not worth it. Anyway, What I'd really like to see is dropping the mind-cracking imperial system and moving into metric. It's just more intuitive. At least for non-Americans
  7. Jute Twine

I believe it is not a great idea for balance reasons. You do not need to dry/smoke your food at the beggining of your game, and after you've settled you should have enoughh resources on you to either kill some spiders or mount an expedition to search for sheeps. In other words- sheeps you must familiarize, spiders you must kill, jute is just here for grabbing, It should not be as useful as the other two, or else why bother with them?
  8. Vegetation

Regarding the understory, I totally agree. But about grain yelds- I happen to be a farmer IRL a yeld of 5 tonnes per hectar is rather small one, and it means 5000 kg per 10000 m2, so 0,5kg per m2. And your normal loaf of bread uses 0,5kg of flour. So couple square meters per loaf is perfectly reasonable and believable And today yelds as high as 10t/ha are not unheard of
  9. Torch Poll

Considering that more permanent light sources are already worked on, I do not understand the concept of dwelling on this particular topic for any amounts of time, really. It is how it is, I think we all know it is not perfect, but on the other hand what is? In my personal experience (I play only single player, I believe that's a gamechanger ) I find this change more of a nuisance than real problem. Relighting torches may feel tedious at times, but considering I don't use much of them and spawn protection system, it's not that bad. And mining is SO much more interesting now
  10. I don't know about Krski, but I for one would certainly try your pack if it was 32x 64x would fry my computer sadly :/
  11. [Intended] Falling dirt/sand removes tile entities

you talk about ceash yet provide no crash report. Please add one to your post or else we can't help you with that crash.
  12. Expected release date TFC 0.80.0

Well my guess is as good as yours but AFAIK the Devs aim for a release every 6 months, so if it's not delayed you have at least 4 more months to play on b79, with a buffer period of 1-2 months if you ask me. But on the other hand Bioxx has stated many times that he wants to push out b80 as fast as he can. IMHO still considering there will be some bug fixes for .79 it will take at least 3 months. DISCLAIMER: I have not spoken to Bioxx or Dunk or Kitty about it, these are just my guesstimations based on the forum and the development pace lately. EDIT: Ninja'd by Kitty Her answer is AY better than mine
  13. How to slaughter?

No, you just kill them. But low butchery skill makes drops very small, so I THINK that might be a problem. Also if you're using cauldron, then mobs don't drop anything on death due to cauldron-related bug. Please use the bug reporting template so we can help you better.
  14. Some things about Donkey/Mules

From 79.0 changelog: [*]Donkey chests now accept and refuse the same items as TFC chests. So it is a bug that was supposed to be fixed. Please fill in a bug report for it, can you?
  15. Rings and things: Chainmail armor and related items

Wearing metal armor cools you down? Well, if it's cold, maybe. But padding prevents that most of the time. The real problem is when it hets too hot- sitting in a metal can on the sun is not so great idea That's why crusaders wore mostly white cloth over their armour- so they won't heat up as easily
