      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the suggestions forum?(Yes/No): Yes Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted. I feel a system like this could be pretty useful if added by reducing the micromanagement when you're producing lots of ingots after a mining trip. Instead of going and melting down the ores, then casting them into ingots one-by-one, you could instead use a crucible or similar block to melt down the ores, then tip the molten metal into a casting channel linked to a large number of ingot casts. After a time the metal will cool and allow you to take the ingots out en-masse and ready for future storage. If some of the procedurally generated metals are able to be cast into tools, perhaps allowing the production of tool casts for mass production would be possible, too? Although casting tools could give it no bonus from your smithing skill, and possibly a malus if potential mass production is seen as a bit overpowered. Not to mention I think it'd look pretty cool seeing the molten metal spreading through your casting system. I honestly feel like I could have explained this a lot better, but this idea has come to me in a bout of tiredness, and if I waited until after I slept, I'm pretty sure I'd forget about it.
  2. Expanded Masonry

I'd like the ability to make vanilla style bricks (ie small brick texture) from clay. Only having fire clay be able to make bricks was irritating, what with the expense. However, stone bricks have existed and do exist. They should, however, have a separate texture to the clay bricks, being as they are now with the larger bricks instead of a lot of smaller ones on the block.
  3. Endgame guns.

Still not convinced a musket would be suitable. At most an arquebus would. As always though, up to the mod maker and apparently the devs aren't too keen on the idea anyways, so...
  4. Volcanoes

Airborne and in sufficient quantities it's lethal. Once it's settled it's fine assuming you don't shove your face into it and snort it like coke. Good point about wet towels, though.
  5. Endgame guns.

Because guns are MUCH more complicated. A hunting rifle? It took a while to invent rifling, and even then the guns were too inaccurate to use for hunting for a while. Muskets and rifles were only used en masse for a reason, and it wasn't for fun. Then a revolver is EVEN MORE complex. You have moving parts and multiple shots, not to mention the issues of scaling things down. And for something like that you'd need flintlock, which is shoving the complexity through the roof. Took us a while, again, to move from using an igniter to having the ignition system contained within the musket itself. From what I understand, this game isn't going to European renaissance levels of complexity, at most it'll be high medieval, which was well before guns. It is, however, important to note that gunpowder itself had been perfected by about 1350, so gunpowder explosives aren't something out of the realm of possibility (such as the black powder barrel in TFC 1)
  6. Metal Tiers

I wonder if a Dwarf Fortress-esque system could be used for the metals, where they have a hardness, sharpness and density stat (hidden by default, perhaps high level metallurgists could identify the traits?)? Harder ones are more durable and have better armour against sharp and crush damage, softer have less durability but... I dunno, perhaps increased piercing resistance?, sharpness is basically how sharp an edge the metal can hold, so a sword made of a high sharpness metal would inflict more damage, for example. Density would be how dense it is, so something like a mace made out of a high density metal would do more damage, but with reduced swing speed? And wearing high density armour gives a speed debuff (if you tried running in a solid gold set of armour, you'd be pretty slow I imagine). It could stimulate a degree of trading. Someone makes metal ABC which is light and sharp, but soft, and someone makes metal XYZ, which is heavy and hard, but can't hold an edge, then someone makes metal 123 which is light and hard, but can't hold an edge. ABC could be suited for swords, XYZ for maces, and ABC for armour. I say dwarf fortress-esque because going into the same level of detail (sharpness, density, how much strain before they fracture etc.) would be a bit nuts.
  7. Settlements and Human Mobs

I'm not sure that becoming a leader would be a good idea, as that would basically mean you can laze around while the NPCs do things. Various levels of technology, maybe starting at primitive, so stone tools, a small number of crops, no animals, small population, thatch huts and so on, all the way up to medieval, where they have steel tools, animals, a large variation of crops, larger population, wooden houses... walls perhaps? (not sure how they'd generate without too much issue), more specialisations among the population? Maybe you could somehow 'uplift' the more primitive tribes? Somehow be able to stimulate trade between settlements, which leads to slow technological advancements so that primitive tribes start to get better tools and buildings and such? But that would be very millenaire-esque, which the mod author may not be too fond of. If they were to be implemented, making them very rare would be a good idea. The aforementioned 'virgin earth' thing is a very big part of this mod, and making villages spawn frequently would utterly ruin this.
  8. Volcanoes

Yeah, but it's got a habit of: A) smothering plants Killing animals. The stuff ash is made of turns into a cement-like mixture in contact with water. The stuff in your lungs is primarily water, and if the ash is thick enough you can't cough all of it (especially the fine particles) up. Do the math and it comes to 'Oh crap I can't breathe'
  9. Just applying for Hardcore In game username: greatorder How long have you been playing TFC: I play it on-and-off, probably a few months in all? Why do you want to join the Hard Core group?: I want to try hardcore, basically. Just seems that it could be fun when you actually have to worry a lot more about dying. Name a rule from the [/rules] command in the TFC server: Respect the staff and other players
  10. Yeah, I saw some people online and thought it was fixed. Bad idea, apparently. I died of fall damage and now all my food, copper, tools etc. are gonna despawn.
  11. [Closed] [0.79.28] FeudalFirmaCraft OPEN

Except that incident where a guy came on, said 'Fuck you guys' then left. God knows what that was about, but it amused me somewhat.
  12. Afraid to say I will not be joining you because I tried connecting and the lag was absolutely unbearable.
  13. Towny said something about an error and entering safemode, and now whenever I log in I can't move and my character glitches like crazy (the camera keeps moving to three points in sequence, I can't move and randomly take fall damage) I'm not sure if the latter's the server or client, but something's dun goofed.
  14. [Offline][79.25] TerraFirmanet - Public! - PVP

If I may offer advice, expand on the OP. It's not going to get may people if you have a very barebones description, such as it has now.
  15. DeathSlayer_, I'd advise you check the dates before applying. The servers you've been dredging up are ancient.
