      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Blast Furnace Not accepting ore [SOLVED]

yup that was the problem. I wasn't trying them together at exactly the same time.
  2. Blast Furnace Not accepting ore [SOLVED]

Ok im not at my desktop right now, so i cant post pictures, but the blast furnace is a minimum sized blast furnace. It has a crucible at the bottom, with the blast furnace block directly above, followed by air, surrounded by 4 fire brick blocks, each with 3 wrought iron sheets on the 3 outward faces. i have a chimney that is only one block high. I am certain that i have been throwing normal hemetite ore, and when i throw that or flux in the chimney, it does not go in, nor does it make the little coal looking thing that gets taller, like the bloomery. It just sits in the bottom. The white bar in the blast furnace does not fill and i can retrieve all of the ore back. When i add charcoal, it does go in, and it starts stacking up in the chimney like it does in the bloomery, and the white bar in the blast furnace does start to fill up. at this point i can also start the furnace. I have a bronze tuyere, i have a bellow, that works and make the blast furnace hotter, but there is no ore in it. i tried heating up the blast furnace before adding ore, but that didnt do anything. My second thought was that maybe i need to have a taller chimney, but based on the wiki page, the one block high chimney is the minimum. i am currently running TFC: 0.79.15 Forge: 10.13.2.1272 and my additional mods are the lantuerns mod, thedynamic lighting, and the Gravestone mod. if there is anything else you need to know let me know. if you want when i get home later i can give you a screen shot, but there isnt really anything interesting there. like i said. ore and flux do not go in, and the ore meter in the GUI does not show any ore in the furnace, and coal does go in, it does show up in the gui and it will start.
  3. I just built a blast furnace, and I'm fairly certain that everything has been built to the specifications on the wiki, but for some reason the blast furnace will only take in charcoal that is dropped into the chimney, not any flux or ore. I dont really know what to do.... when the ore and flux are thrown in, they just sit on top. the charcoal goes in, and the blast furnace will start up fine, albeit without anything useful in it. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Hmm, ok i guess that makes sense, because i did start out at 96 days and i changed it. but that doesn't explain why it only happens to cows. And also at 144 days, there is no problem. the problem only starts at 156. Which i mean that could still be the issue i suppose, i have played for approximately 300 days so far, and i would almost be doubling the length of the year. but ok ill just leave it at 96 days, its really not a big deal. but i guess for future reference, make sure to only change the length of the year at the beginning of the game, correct?
  5. TFC: 0.79.15 Forge: 10.13.2.1272 Im using the lanterns mod, dynamic lighting, Gravestone mod in addition to the coremods. So the problem that i am experiencing DOES have to do with a change to the config file... i hope this is ok. Basically i want to make the length of a year longer. However, if i set the length of the year to be longer than 144(making sure to keep all of my entries as multiples of 12) then for some reason, all of my cows and horses get messed up. the cows: - all lose their familiarity hearts completely and will not eat food - they make the same sounds as baby cows do - female cows that were previously familiarized before i had changed the length of the year can no longer be milked - they will no longer drop any items on death and the horses can just not be ridden at all. You can not mount them, it just tells you whether they are male or female. and for some reason by changing the length of the year it fixes these problems. i did try reinstalling TFC and when it reset the config file, it fixed the problem but when the length of the year was changed it reinstated the problem so yeah if anyone has any insight into this it would be appreciated.
  6. Forging Metal Sheets [SOLVED]

Yup that fixed it! thanks for the quick reply. I wish i had come here to solve my problem sooner.
  7. Forging Metal Sheets [SOLVED]

I have been playing TFC for a while now and i have successfully made metal sheets many times in the past. I have the Lanterns mod as my only addition to the base mods, and i have successfully made many lanterns. However for some reason recently when I try to make metal sheets on my anvil, i just can't. I meet all of the rule requirements and i line up the arrows, but the metal sheet does not pop out like it usually does. I have used the durability of almost two entire bronze hammers trying to make ONE metal sheet. I have reloaded the Lanterns mod to no avail, and i have reinstalled TFC. Does anyone have any suggestions on why this might be happening? I am just really terrible at smithing?
