      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. recycle my old anvil?

Yeah, generally you're just starting to wonder what to do with the old copper anvil when you realize how much bronze it takes to make a bloomery. Melting down the copper anvil in a crucible and throwing in some cassiterite will get you like half of what you need for a bloomery.
  2. Update Frequency Poll

Short answer: whenever you feel like it - it's a hobby, not a job. Longer answer: It would be nice to have more frequent updates to newer versions of MC & Forge if that can be done without taking too much time from normal development.
  3. [b75] Anvil ingot duping (SMP)

It seems it's possible in some circumstances to dupe ingots when shift+clicking them into your inventory from the anvil. This is NOT just the phantoms you get sometimes, as they didn't disappear, and I was able to use them in crafting. I have been able to reproduce this for wrought iron - don't know if any other metal is affected - get 4 full pig iron molds straight out of the bloomery (white hot - liquid) - stick them in a chest to cool faster. As soon as the first one is no longer liquid, shift+click back to inventory - go to anvil (blue steel w/blue steel hammer in this case, in case it matters) - make pig iron ingot out of mold 1 and put in weld slot - make pig iron ingot out of mold 2 and put in weld slot - make pig iron and then wrought iron ingot out of mold 3 and shift+click to inv - make pig iron and then wrought iron ingot out of mold 4 and shift+click to inv - make wrought iron out of ingot 1 or 2 and shift click to inv - make wrought iron out of last ingot and shift click to inv During one of the last two steps, it would create a stack of 8 ingots when shift-clicked to the inventory (they were landing in hotbar slots). One time it also created a stack of two, but those were phantoms and vanished. Timing may be important, as the wrought iron ingots were all about the same temperature, so may have tried to stack if they were exactly the same.
  4. Hidden Fun Stuff

I agree about the free stuff, but a pick with 10 uses left, 2-3 supports and a torch isn't going to significantly impact gameplay unless you manage to find it while you're still in the stone age (which is very unlikely).
  5. Glowstone temp fix

I know, but changing a drop item might be a simple enough change that it would be a more elegant work-around than spawning stuff in and trading.
  6. Glowstone temp fix

I've had some players on my server ask for glowstone. Since there's currently no way to get it legitimately, It would be cool to have an option for the map gen to place glowstone instead of sulfur, at least until there's a use for sulfur or another way to get glowstone. (or perhaps just have sulfur drop glowstone dust instead - that might be an even easier change)
  7. Hidden Fun Stuff

    - When ore veins are generated intersecting open areas (or open areas generated that intersect ore veins... not sure which comes first), have a small chance to generate a tool rack with a random pick and/or propick that only have about 10-20 uses left, a campfire, and a chest that can have stuff like a few support beams, torches, sticks, or nuggets. Would add a nice feel of someone's-been-here-before. For extra fun, add a skeleton spawner. - Eating like 30 garlic in a row gives an effect that repels undead for a few minutes, and (optional) if pvp is enabled, deals suffocation damage to nearby players. Or add this as a possible effect to meals that include multiple garlic.
  8. ridiculous damage on chisels

Well, you wouldn't use fractions of durability, just increase the chisel durability by a lot, then use 1 for detailing, 32 for slabbing, and 128 for making bricks, or something like that. Not sure how much higher tier tools will help, really. If the chisel durability is similar to the picks', then even red/blue steel would only be good for detailing away about 20 blocks completely. EDIT: Also, I think you can turn a slabbed block into a detail block, so it can be more efficient to use that first if possible, since one slab hit is worth 1-64 detail hits for the same durability cost.
  9. Excess Metallic Ore

How about making metal sheets placeable like planks are, except that you get a 1/8 block slab out of it? Definitely second the ingot piles, but for ore, I'd rather have a hopper, where you construct something like a bloomery with a block at the bottom that allows you to retrieve ore. Dump ore in the top like a bloomery and it fills up, then pull ore items out of the interface from the bottom.
  10. [Offline] Whitelist/non-PvP/co-op B75 + Smart Moving

It looks like you have an active (albeit somewhat old) ban for greifing at MCBans. Can you try to get this resolved first? http://www.mcbans.com/player/XPr0gamerX
  11. [Offline] Whitelist/non-PvP/co-op B75 + Smart Moving

Server has been updated to 1.4.6, TFC B75, Forge 6.5.0.486, Smart Moving 11.11 Please let me know if you run into any problems
  12. [Offline] Whitelist/non-PvP/co-op B75 + Smart Moving

Well, Internet connection was fine when I got home, but the server had crashed hard. Still not sure what the heck happened, but several hardware related services don't want to start on reboot. Server is restarted, but there are some disk mirrors rebuilding, so there may be some lag for a few hours.

As far as I can tell from 800 miles away, the power is out to my Internet fiber termination point due to the weather in the Dallas area. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do anything about this until Friday evening at the earliest.

Best thing to do until I get forge updated is to set up a dedicated MultiMC instance with the correct versions. I tend to do that for every modded server, anyway. Which mod is causing the crashes?
