      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Alloy Calculator

It is factored in this calculator!, you can put in the table the number of whatever size ore you wanna put it, it calculates automatically
  2. Alloy Calculator

There's the main table ore/units To use it type in the number of pieces of ore you put into the alloy in the correct place (type of ore and size) The calculations are locked and are automatic, you can only change the values of the ores in the main table and the adv. Alloys table. The output is automatic I'll only be able to make any fixes tomorrow when I get back home :-| I'll probably make the file unlocked (not sure why thought that's a good idea)
  3. Alloy Calculator

But the dropbox download works? did you try it and it worked?
  4. Alloy Calculator

I got frustrated when i tried to make some alloys and messed the calculations so i made this. You fill in the amount of metals and ores you put in the alloy and it gives you the output in ingots. you can put either Nuggets/Poor ores/Normal/Rich and whole ingots. the Alloy maker shows you what ingots will output and how much spare metal in TFC units will be left put your mouse over certain cells for more info requires Microsoft Excel (dont know what version) Download from dropbox Like and bump this post if you enjoyed so others could use it too! PM me for any corrections or bugs If you find any online excel file viewer that is compatible post below so people with out MS excel can enjoy.
  5. Since the game already supports different kinds of sand, why not have the glass form in different colors depending on the sand type, give the glass a bit more natural colors.
  6. Grass colour change across biomes?

As far as my understanding the grass color is determined by the type of rock consisting the upper layer, in my opinion it would be a great idea to have the texture of the grass be changed from biome to biome while still having the color depending on the rock layer
  7. Use for high carbon steel

There are a lot more techniques that could be added to metalworking of tools and armors even before the advanced use of hc steel. Things like using leather in tool handles and in armor, sharpening tools, etc
  8. more uses for leather

In my opinion , leather , which was one of the most commonly used materials back at ye oldie days is very mistreated in TFC. Water skin - crafted with leather making, used to hold perhaps twice as much water as a water jug Armors - one of the things that really bothered me even since early on Tfc days is that you don't need leather when crafting a metal armor, leather and cloth and even wool is essential for armor. Leather is always used as the base of any armor to connect all of the metal plates together and give them flexibility , cloth was used to give comfort and decorations and wool was used for warmth Leather pouches- perhaps like a clay vessel but holds a bit more, or one time build that expands your inventory Leather strips were added to tool handles for comfort use. Perhaps instead of putting chests on your donkey or mule, in tfc you will have to use leather pouches Or bags which just seems for realistic for me Although alot uses of leather are either not quite needed or some already implemented in tfc, I think just because leather was so widely used , the uses I noted above that can be implemented otter be implemented. http://www.mobileleatherservice.com/leatherhistory.html
  9. Animal carcasses

Perhaps, hanging the meat in a closed room, let's say minimum of 3x3x3, with a lighten campfire. After an Ingame day or so will give off smoked meat which should preserve for long periods of time. Whole Animal carcasses FTW. Ps. If for some the word Carcasses sounds too harsh to the ear, another item name that could be used is "Whole cow/pig/deer" and then "Skinned cow. Etc,"
  10. Animal carcasses

I didn't mean there should be any actual gut item or any of that, skinning the animal and then cutting pieces of meat one by one signifies as the gutting process and still I think serves the purpose of it in tfc right without having any "unplatables"
  11. Animal carcasses

This could work with chickens too only that crafting a raw chicken carcass with a knife will give feathers.
  12. Animal carcasses

The problem: as for now in the game killing an animal could become a burden because of inventory space. The solution: "Animal carcass" item In detail: Any animal on death would drop one Item only - Animal carcass, crafting the animal carcass with a knife will give off the raw hide and a "Skinned carcass" item holding the sum of meat it would normally drop. Then each time crafting that item with a knife will give off one piece of meat(160oz ) one at a time, taking the meat from the carcass item. cut the pieces of meat to store and preserve as the carcasses are too big to be put in a chest. Also carcasses should decay much faster(day or two) than the clean meat pieces because all of the impurities of the animal(organs and such). At last after cutting the last piece of meat you will be left with the bones. In addition: Crafting a skinned animal between two sticks diagonally will give skewered animal item, right clicking that over a lighten campfire will place it above it for a slow roast, after the meat is ready ( changed its color from red to brown or something) right click with a knife on it, it will drop off one piece of roasted meat at a time,it could either be another new food item to add more diversity to the food system such as "Roasted beef/pork/vension" or just normal cooked meat) Other branches: Animal carcasses opens a lot of possible crafting branches such as taxidermy, crafting a bear carcas into a nice rug for your wood cabin, or crafting hunting wall trophys (heads) to hang on the wall. Perhaps even replacing the current meat cooking, I mean, throwing a piece of steak into a forge or a campfire with out some clay pot would surely charr it. Why not make roasting meat with a skewer the only way to cook meat until you get a clay pot to cook it with. Pros: -adds certain realism to the hunting game. -doesn't wastes any drops you can't pick up because of inventory space -not op because you can't store whole carcasses in chests and decay faster -players need to put a bit more work into the meat -adds more diversity in cooking (optinal roasted meat) Cons: -more time into making food -you'd be able to return from one hunt with a buttload full of meat (although that con kinda cancels out because the carcasses decay faster, it would be a waste getting many at once) With all the thanks, Yawooza. Published from my smartphone.
  13. Annoying bug

when placing glass blocks next to each other you can still see the sides through them, its kinda annoying
  14. Few well thought ideas

Thanks for the feedback, convinced me on most aspects, the idea of sculpturing is always in mind with the chisel, my idea was having such ingame built sculptures, some thing abit more linear and relaxing than holding a chisel infront of a pile of marble, with mindblowing options.
  15. Few well thought ideas

Of-course, I don't mean making any industrial farms, I'm talking about the first farms, netted with water canals that were dug down hill from a water source, having a the option perhaps to build a simple canal system with few planks and fill it with water buckets to water the crops. The term Modern is very relative, everything today is relatively modern to yesterday. So are you talking Bronze age modern, The Ancient Rome modern, or Middle ages modern, very Modern times, yet differed by decades.
