      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Exploration

I think lots of people would like to see naturally occurring structures of some kind. I like the idea of Ruins. Biomes are big in TFC and I like it because in the real world there is no such things as small biomes, except maybe in the case of Delta or Marsh on a lake (or other geographic feature), but Biomes are big. Canada is the best !
  2. Houses

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the suggestions forum?(Yes/No): Yes Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted. I spent awhile thinking about this idea, but my thoughts are still somewhat disjointed, i also have trouble with run on sentances and grammer, so I hope you can understand what I am saying. I hope the ideas behind the words are clear enough. & I was surprised that the list of suggestions already made did not specifically include houses and homes. I think houses have a special significance in Minecraft. Everyone makes a safe place for sleep, for a decorative house to show off, a space for crafting and forging, for a underground base to hide, or a base away from home while mining, for a big spacious house to be their own, etc. This idea was inspired by TFC lumber (I will try to avoid basing this upon what was in TFC1), you had a game piece that was smaller than the rest, and could be used in new ways. It was small but when tediously put together could be used to make interesting fences and walls. Because it's not really believable that houses are built with blocks of 1 metre thick walls and ceilings. With the additions in Minecraft 1.8 there are more surface textures available, and more crafting aesthetic items, its opening up the possibility of building a real believable house. Details: I like the idea of a special 5x5 crafting grid, and this builds on it, I see it as a special block crafting table put down by the player; to build large house items like framing, wall panels, ceiling trusses, roofing, foundations, staircases, drywall, plaster, etc. This special block would be in addition to the 3x3 grid we are used to in inventory. The special crafting block may have a timer on it so only 1 item can be crafted per 1 hour, or per 2 hour, etc. Something to prevent the user from crafting an entire house in 10 minutes. This also adds to the difficulty and prestige to build the item; and the believability that a person cannot put together all their house in 1 hour even if all the material is at hand. The crafting block could have built-in tool rack on the outside so you can store your tools on the rack that is on the block, and the crafting grid can use those tools without the player removing them to inventory then going into the grid. So lets say for example, I use lumber to craft 10 wall panels and 4 roof pieces so I can build the frame of my house. I was reading the Sawmill thread about ideas for this. Then onto the frame I can add windows, or wall texture like drywall or stucco or hardwood floors or shingles. Then onto the wall I can add curtains or rugs or picture frames or chandeliers. I was also thinking about foundations. Such as having a house on a dirt foundation may become an unstable house after 2 years causing your house to collapse. Or a thunderstorm or other event could knock it down. So either the crafting grid can also make foundation blocks or new type of masonry tools can be used to put down stone or metal supports for building on. Of course depending on what programming allows for, and I am no programmer, these things would probably be buggy because of how interconnected they are. But I hope that in some way the devs can find a creative way to improve our house options :-)
  3. ive got a similar problem, I cant see the newest forge version in the profile editor after running the forge install into the client I should have the new version 10.13.4.1558, but the highest version available in the menu is 10.13.4.1448.
  4. [Vanilla Bug] boat help [solved]

I dont know anything about bug fixing. was this really a vanilla bug? It was only after deleting the TFC config files that it cleared up. The chunk loading was only the smaller issue, avoidable by not sailing to fast. I thought the boat breaking in the middle of the ocean & dropping me 50 paces backward was related to TFC. Thank you as always for Kittychanley to know whats going on, when us clueless users are befuddled
  5. Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the support forum? (Yes/No): yes Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted. TFC Version #: 0.79.18Forge Version #: 10.13.2.1291Please note that an actual number must be provided for both of the above fields.Simply saying "current" or "latest" will result in your post being locked, due to the fact that in a large number of cases, users who say they are using the "latest" or "current" version are actually using an outdated version.SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer): SPDescription: Boat problems. When I am sailing my boat breaks apart in the middle of the ocean. or breaks when I am close to land but not colliding, i'm still in open water. When I dismount the boat I am not in the same block space, I get placed about 20 to 50 blocks away, usually somewhere on the path I sailed in on, as if when dismounting it remembers where I was a minute ago and drops me there. When this placement goes strange the boat is no longer usuable, its still visually there where I pressed dismount, but I cannot axe it or break it, it behaves like a solid block I can stand on but unbreakable. Another boat issue, possibly unrelated, is I also find if I am sailing over long ocean distance, ie 10000 blocks, then at some point the boat speed is faster than the chunk generating speed and I sail into an ungenerated chunk. This makes a strange visual effect, like being surrounded by bedrock mist effect, if I move the position numbers do change but no change in visual. Sometimes this has solved itself after waiting 10 minutes the game restored back to normal, 1 other time it did not restore itself and i deleted the world.Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug? (Yes/No): No, I have deleted the config files and the bug is gone. So this clears it up.If you answered no to the above question, delete all 3 TFC config files (TFCCrafting, TFCOptions, TFCOre), do NOT edit or add to any of the files, and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No): YesIf yes, which mods? Resource Packs: Faithful, Firewolf, Modern (i use these on vanilla minecraft games not in TFC, although I have tried them once)If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? (Yes/No): n/a, dont have those 2 thingsIf you answered no to the above question, uninstall Optifine/Cauldron and try to reproduce the bug. Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed. In the majority of cases, TFC is not causing the bug; Optifine/Cauldron is and TFC can do nothing to fix it.All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question. If you refuse to uninstall Optifine/Cauldron, and cannot reproduce the bug when the mods are not installed, do not bother making a bug report, as it will be locked and ignored.Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: no crash
  6. i'm hoping the wiki can be updated too, i keep going there to see the recipee, but its outdated
  7. [Solved] help with bloomery

May i ask if a bloomery chimney needs open air above it like a forge? The wiki does not say it does, but I did everything right in building it, my 1st bloomery is not starting up. I got the coal block, the right image of unlit inactive Bloomery, but it wont light. I was frustrated because I knew I built it right but no matter how i tried it wouldnt light. I was going to change the location of it try it outside my house to have an open air chimney, and I wanted to reuse my stone blocks, as i was digging out the stone blocks the bloomery block popped out and was lost. also the 16 iron I had put into it were lost. Now very frustrated as I lost all that bronze to make the bloomery block and lost the iron ore i had tried to light up. Also, my chickens wont breed ... i gave them a nest, but nothing in it, the female chicken ignores it. they wont eat grain, they also wont follow me when holding wheat grain, i had to push them into my pen. minecraft 1.6.4 MCP v8.11 FML v6.4.49.965 Forge 9.11.1.965 TFC 0.78.47w
  8. When is it time to throw in the towel?

I was asking the same thing too, with the same frustrations. http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/5183-looking-for-tips-help/ Basically I dug through several copper pickaxes before finding all the stuff to make bismuth bronze. user Kittychanley gave some good advice - walk to the edge of your rock biome and dig down and referencing which ores/minerals spawn in which stone types is key. If you dont find it, walk to the other edge of the rock biome I hope you've got some since posting, I love the challenge of this mod.
  9. [Solved] looking for tips & help

Thanks everyone for the input > Thanks Omicron, it seems my problem with attracting animals was that I had knifed the wheat into grain, now i've got 1 pig. I dont know if its my game seed or a TFC difference, but animals are much more rare harder to find, and I seem to have to travel much farther afield to find and bring them back. Update: I have now travelled 1000 blocks in 8 directions from my house, and found only pigs and deer. no sheep, no chicken. so I have yet to make a bed, cant make a scribing table. Havent found any jungle for chicken, and the mountain terrain just has deer so far no sheep ... > Thanks kittychanley Im much happier with the mining now. It seems that i was looking in the wrong rock types - or rather i wasnt paying attention to the type of rock i was in when tunnelling. I love the prospectors pick, much better idea than the vanilla method. Update: I've taken to digging down in a staircare method - digging on a diagonal. I've noticed that going down by 3 will not trigger a cave in - as long as i dig the top blocks first. I can go all the way to the bottom layer without using support beams & this lets my ProPick sample alot more area in a single shaft down than before & makes going up&down on stairs faster > Welding works now. perhaps the ore was cooling down too fast before i got it to the anvil. & realizing how much ore is needed to make everything from anvils and armor and tools ... so many dozens of ingots. Well thats why I'm enjoying TFC so much, its harder !
  10. Hi, started TFC (ver.0.77.22) few weeks ago, and really liking the complexities vs vanilla MC :-) I've been unable to start animal husbandry so far, the pigs and sheep are not following me, i cant bring them back to my house/farm. I've tried holding carrot, oat, wheat, rye, maize. Is there a list of foods that animals follow the player? I'm having trouble with the metalworking, I cant weld. Being unable to form double-ingots is preventing any further metalworking from advancing. When I put my 2 copper ingots into the anvil, with hammer, flux, press Weld and getting nothing; tried several hammers, and more flux, and making sure both ingots exact same temp, but no go. I've got a Diorite (Igneous Intrusive) anvil block, bismuth bronze hammer, flux, copper ingots at BrightRed**** that were heated in a firepit. May i also ask for for advice on mining. I have dug 4 seperate mines down to y-10, with fairly large branches going out in each looking for stuff around lvl y-60 (the wiki said stuff was most common at that level). Ive discovered large supplies of copper, zinc, bismuth, and Olivine. I just got Magnetite/Iron yesterday in my 4th mine and just found my first Igneous Extrusive today, Dacite. Does it normally take so long to discover ores and such? I feel that being able to make a Bloomery and Crucible are going to take exceptionally long time at the slow rate of discovery. Any mining tips ? ~ Tally
