      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. With the new barrel rewrite, I can't remove any alcohol. I made too much and dont have enough vinegar so I wanted to split it into 2 barrels. I saw some notes about getting drunk so I assumed you could drink it at least. But I can't get anything out of it. tried using buckets, jugs, putting buckets/jugs in the slot. Am I stuck with a full barrel of alcohol until I find enough fruit or potatoes to fill it?
  2. Great work! You wanted to know if there were any missing textures? I see that farm soil block isn't done yet. And the sugar cane block and the clay sprite. The inventory panel is missing the back slot (and probably a quarrel slot but havent made that yet). Good job on the wild flowers.

  4. Drinking Water

    With the latest seeds from0.79.8.328 I am unable to drink fresh water from hands. Also can stand in one water block and not take further damage from dehydration. (Free notes on usability. The way dehydration damage happens which is one point every half second or so is very annoying. It makes a severe head bob which makes it hard to do anything. Also, drinking water with your hands (when it worked) takes way too long. It took about 2 hours gametime to drink from nothing to full.

    I just hit F3 and write down the coordinates of points of interest, especially my 'home base'.
  6. See food saturation and item durability?

    Yeah I dont want to see anything I am not supposed to see. Makes sense that it's all behind the scenes and you just 'feel' an improvement over time, although I've never really improved my skills enough to notice a difference yet. I even feel a little dirty when hitting f3 to see my coordinate position.

  8. Is there a plan to eventually be able to see the effects of your skills like food saturation and item durability? Or is it intentionally not shown. Didn't an earlier build show food saturation? Thanks, Charlie

    Is there a plan or an ETA on when/if other grains will be able to make alcohol again. In some seeds (like the one I'm sticking with now) it is very very difficult to find sugar cane. (I assume sugar cane is the only source of sugar correct?)

  11. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

    Looks like this is the thread for gem suggestions? I wanted to put forward some ideas and thoughts. I like the suggestion of improving endgame weapons and tools with crushed diamonds like real life. You could add the powder in the flux slot. Basically you're folding the diamonds into the metal as you are working it. And make it challenging to produce the powder- maybe make it dependent on the top tier alloy. This could provide an extension past the final tier without being magicky. Another thought is, what it if were made into some kind of collectibles game where you're goal is to collect one of each kind of the top level quality. There could be combining recipes that culminate into some final display piece and some achievement. Folks like going for acheivements. Or maybe associate some beneficial effect but still not magical or modern- so its like a test of intelligence, so you get a increase on the skill cap (there is a cap right?) And one last thought. Gems are used in optics IRL. Maybe you could use them to make telescopes, seeing-eye glass, or survey tools - yeah like a mapping tool. I like the idea of colored glass too. That's a real world use of gems.
  12. I just started a server (78.17) with a friend and the food in our inventory disappeared after logging back in the next day. I assumed it was food decay but it sounds like that FDP is supposed to prevent that. I've been shutting down the server until I could figure out how to get McMyAdmin to work with sleep mode. But we'll experiment with keeping it on and see if our food is still disappearing.
