Because as Killster and Pux pointed out in another thread, the TFC community as a whole has become extremely moody and childish! I have not seen such a large amount of finger pointing in this forum... Ever. Why is everyone so quick to call people trolls instead of calmly discussing with them? A perfect example of what we SHOULD be doing is what JAG did in the thread "veteran ideas to improve game play". The title was arrogant, the grammar was atrocious. The post broke more written and un-written rules that I care to mention. But at the heart of it, it was just a new member who has no knowledge about our rules trying to make a suggestion. I saw that post and thought; "oh god this poor kid is gonna get it." I was just waiting for the snarky, overly defensive, condescending, unfriendly (or worse, fake friendly) demoralization of a newbie. But JAG took the time to make a completely well structured, gentle and polite explanation of what was right and wrong about the post. Like a senior member of the forum should. Then some one who is clearly very intelligent comes in and makes a slightly condescending post putting forth a genuine argument against a game feature, and then is CALMY replied to by Bioxx HIMSELF, yet everyone still jumps on him and calls him a troll! I think everyone here needs to take a step back and look at what happened here. Sure Rook was insulting but everyone reacted in a completely childish way! I have seen intelligence from almost all of you. I expect you to be the bigger person when somebody steps a toe out of line. I expect you to CALMY and FRIENDLILY inform the person what they did wrong. I expect you to follow the example of forumers like Pux, Fatpoulet, JAG, and Bioxx.

That was a very well put analysis. I feel like a like is not enough for this kind of intelligence.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here! So I recently downloaded TFC. I also have optifine installed. My computer is not the gratest but I can get about 20-30 FPS with optifine on tiny+16. It does the job though and I don't mind overly much. Oncce I created my first world and got all te settings proper I was getting my normal 20-30 FPS but when I tried to harvest some sticks and rocks, BAM, down to 1. It seems that whenever I left click in any way, wether I fight, use tools, use a fire, or manage my inventory my FPS shoots down, and then comes back up like nothing happened. This makes it very difficult to play the game! while it has gotten a little better, It's not gone away in the 20 minutes I have played. Another, less anoying but still problematic issue is that the world is generating really slow (despite having the multi-core version of optifine). I'm used to slow, but this is so slow that I can actually walk onto the invisible chunk BEFORE it loads. This is not as eeirly consistent as the other problem and does not seem to be present at all times, but is still frequent. So please, if you have ANY idea as to what could be causing these problems or how to fix them, help me out! If you need anymore information to determine the issue, just ask. ~Treyflix

It says that native platinum can be found in olivine because that ore will spawn in side of a olivine vein. Much like it would spawn in a stone type. Make sense?

You can still quite easily obtain obsidian bud. Even with a wooden bucket.

There is a way of purifying coal into Coke, which is actually preferred in smelting over charcoal... It's a item in the creative inventory already so it must be a planned feature

The only place snow will spawn is in the tundra. Every place below 0 degrees © will snow instead of rain, with snow acumilation (I think) unfortunately some coding issue has caused snow to be broken until Forge adds the needed hooks.
