      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Red steel!

So red/blue steel I more iron efficient? Huh... Wow. So if you have a bunch of gold copper silver nickel and time, have at it?
  2. Ore Tiers

First off, I'm sorry for the hostility in my previous post. I was having a really shitty day and took it out on a couple forum posts. I still agree with my point but I don't like the tone I set. So, on with the discussion! I'm trying to understand what your point is with this post... I think I know, but I don't wantto jump to conclusions...
  3. Red steel!

Sweet. So, other then the pickaxe is it really worth it to make stuff out of red/blue steel other than for bragging rights or PvP?
  4. Combat Overhaul cont. (2/3)

No I didn't, care to link me?
  5. Combat Overhaul cont. (2/3)

I take it that means never? :L Anywho, I have some suggestions for this. Fully armored players should have a much tougher time using a bow and arrow. It takes longer for them to take it to "full draw" and "full draw" for them doesn't go as far as it would for unarmored players. This is because there is a price in flexibility when you have that much stuff on, plus it's a good balance g feature. This should apply to leather armor as well. Leather is very thick and probably the clumsiest. To balance this out, their should be metal javilins that last considerably longer and deal slightly more damage. That way is a archer is trolling a tank, tank can tell archer to GTFO with a well placed javelin shot
  6. Combat Overhaul cont. (2/3)

I'm curious, when is the combat overhaul planned for? That sounds pretty exciting.
  7. Encumbrance

I was going to make this suggestion but then I found this thread ^^. Q: would encumbrance affect actual speed or just hunger and swimming?
  8. Red steel!

So red/blue steel has FOUR times the durability of diamond? Wow. Aww, not even just a "red steel is X times faster than steel"? Oh well, I understand.
  9. Red steel!

Wings?! Siiiick. I'm trying to think of a good hero outfit, what would look good with bismuth bronze helm other than more bismuth bronze? Also the rose gold helm is pretty sick. And why is red steel lame?!
  10. Red steel!

So if you have plenty of nickel it's worth it just for the durability... What about pick and shovel speed? Care to give us on any vauge insights on that? Also, is red steel armor better than diamond? Does it overfill the armor bar?
  11. Ore Tiers

In reply to Draco18. That is without a doubt, the most POINTLESS rant I have ever seen. Almost every single example you used was NOT stuff that Bioxx doesn't want known, in fact, it's all on the wiki. All of it! The wiki is there to provide a sort of tutorial, show you how to do things and survive. It has reference to all that stuff. But what Bioxx doesn't want happening is it becoming a game of numbers. "X ore can be found at Y axis X and is X% of all materials in that layer" or "use X pattern for 100% maximum efficiency in creating X tool" or "tier X [tool] can take X amount of [tool action] before breaking" or "X food has X amount of saturation" or "X weapon does X points of damage". This is all stuff that is not naturally observable in definite terms except by experience, and even then vaguely. These kinds of things are best learned by yourself, it's new, it's fun, it's exciting! All I can say is you really need to calm down and take a objective look at the bullshit you're spouting.
  12. Ore Tiers

On the whole I understand it. It's not vital information and finding it out by yourself is quite fun.
  13. Ore Tiers

The reason you won't find y values is dunk has forbidden that kind of detailed information to be put on the wiki. However you can read about it in the most recent pages of 46c experimentation; ores thread. The latest pages deal with 47f. It's quite interesting. The best place to have Gabbro is the second layer, as it is not possible to find nickel or gold in the first layer, and in the third layer it is not quite as common. I started to do cross sections of the top of the third layer of Gabbro in my survival road to get some nickel. I found some at y 40-50. Which is actually really low for nickel. I'm excited to make my first black steel and then red steel! But yeh, Gabbro is the best rock type IMO. You can get native gold, copper, tetrahedrite (more copper and silver) and nickel. However it has no iron.
  14. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

Ok good haha. Just making sure, misinformation is worse than none at all.
  15. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

I'm sorry chez, I was having a rough day and I lash out. I didn't mean to say it so hostilely. :/... I have not gotten around to getting permission for editing the wiki as I'm pretty new. I usually learn stuff really fast though and I feel that I have a very good knowledge of this mod. I just really wanted to make sure misinformation about cave ins isn't spread more. Cave ins can not be CAUSED by mining ore and can not destroy ore. The cobble falls through the ore is what I have heard. A cave in happens when you mine a block that has a stone block above it and a air block below it. That's the conditions, it's real simple. I don't know wether smooth stone affects anything yet though... Again sorry!
  16. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

Ore is NOT DESTROYED IN CAVE INS. period! Look at my thread on cave ins, I have it from many good sources that it does NOT.
  17. 46c Experimentation: Ores

The top of the Gabbro layer is at y 50-60... :/
  18. 46c Experimentation: Ores

Crap, so if the only layer I have found with Gabbro is layer three, I'm not going to find nickel very easily?
  19. A Question of Motivation Relating to Trade

No, survival multi player is a branch off mode. Did I not make that clear? :/. The reality of it is a server where the politics are set up enough for trade and such is a small, but vocal percentage of TFC community. I'm sure a very large percentage of people play SSP or SMP causually with a few friends. Furthermore, SSP and causual SMP is such a integral part of the game. This whole argument is probably moot as Bioxx likely has a ore/resource distribution plan for the new world gen that will be balanced and fair.
  20. A Question of Motivation Relating to Trade

Here is the difference; SMP doesn't NEED these changes to become better whereas SSP can't handle these changes without decreasing in quality. Destroying the core base of the game to improve a branch off mode is unfair and silly.
  21. effective ways to mine?

Ah, well the 13/12 count just depends on which blocks you count . And you're certainly using it as more of a art form then me haha. I just make sure I can find my ore deposit. Which I always do. I consider that; Achevment get! Propick MASTERED.
  22. Kingdoms Brainstorming

Exactly! Man, after reading this thread through I've realized how interesting and varied the community on these forums is. I always thought before that cevkiv was just a grumpy ass when he is actually a intelligent grumpy ass xD. So many awesome professions too. It's funny hOw some of them have professions that are in TFC. Infinus5 is a prospecter, Mead is a mason, some one is a black smith, ECT. I guess I'm rambling, I just find it interesting.
  23. Kingdoms Brainstorming

I have successfully read the entire freaking topic... And as a result it is now 1:30 AM which is rather late for me so I fear if I attempt to make any sort of extended point I will end out spouting rubberish and making a poof of myself. All I will say tonight... Tomarraow... This morning, whatever! Is that I agree with the civcraft folks and Cevkiv. Ockhams razor cuts most of your arguments to shreds. (1000 internetz to the person who gets that reference). If we give the tools to the player instead of a enforced system, politics and ecomy will rise up on their own! So yeh, my brain is sushi right now...
  24. Do tundra biomes exist?

It literally translates into "stupid people who eat raw meat". So yes, it's not politically correct. Inuit is what they call them selves and is the preferred term.
