      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Alternate Mob Spawning - Bonepiles

I like this, but make the bone piles have a spawn radius. Instead of just on top of the piles. This would make it harder to mob trap entities.
  2. TerraFirma+ : Botany & Food

Night shade belladonna is fatal in even small doses. Often used in Asian poisons for centuries. I have used nightshade belladonna extract to kill pests on my fathers ranch.
  3. Mostly for Pvp. Many castles have poor foundations. Using cave ins to exploit this would be a nice mechanic in the effort of a combat revamp.
  4. Canoes

If I do make the add-on, I will most likely make the raft be very sluggish in the water. Other ideas would be: Raft would have a small chest worth of inventory. Different sizes of raft, made by crafting 2x2 of each smaller raft. Bigger rafts can carry more people. Might try to design a varient of the vanilla boat that has a sail but would make it rather small. (large ships have tons of issues to cover, like buoyancy and physics)
  5. Canoes

I might try my hand at boats. But I need to do some refreshing with minecraft code, haven't modded since the early beta days.
  6. Mechanical Power. Doing things Better, Faster

Well B78 has pipes, so I believe that it is safe to assume they eventually plan to add machines of some sort in the near future.
  7. This would at least make a work around that is currently available with mining not usable. Currently if you take a chisel and hammer, and smooth the roof of a mine you can make a safety zone that will not collapse. If you do this along a main corridor you can mine in relative safety and just expand the smooth stone as you mine. The idea of the the buildings collapsing would only take place in the event of a cave in (either by mining or explosives) and would only happen if the cave-in collapsed the blocks the building is standing on, at which point the building would take a reduced check of propagating the collapse (based on the strength of the foundation). Obviously a building based on stone would be relatively safe, but one built directly on top of sand would be really in danger of collapsing during a major shift in the sand. This would not in essence take away peoples buildings on a whim. ( it is quite rare for cave-ins to reach the surface) but it would make people think about where to build. The only point that is weak is where the building touches the ground ( so flying houses are safe unless an explosion takes out the bottom of the house). But those Terran based buildings the foundation would be important.
  8. Hey now, no need to get hostile.
  9. Actually concrete isn't as strong as many think. Concrete is prone to cracking and shattering, note the pot holes in roads are due to the concrete below the asphalt giving way (in many cases). A solid stone foundation would be the strongest. although concrete would be a good man-made foundation. The idea of blocks collapsing when placing them would make building annoying and tedious. The main idea behind this post is that structures are completely safe from cave ins. To remedy this and make players have to do fortification of structures so as not to have buildings fall over due to mining or subterfuge. And the buildings should be once the foundation goes the building goes (the whole kit and caboodle)
  10. Could also make a foundation block that functions like a support beam, it would be crafted from a 9 raw stone blocks and would stabilizes the house in all but a cave in (in which case it has half chance of propagating it)
  11. Explosives, a use for gunpowder.

    Well usable as a land fill. and you don't spread them out, you stack them. That way you can take out towers. (they should make building affected by cave ins) {sappers away!!}
  12. Update Frequency Poll

Exactly my feelings. while having sorta scheduled bug fixes/ tweaks, it would be nice to have builds out when ready so that those who want can upgrade. Would love having dev builds so we can test things before full release
  13. Explosives, a use for gunpowder.

More like a few dozen. No kill like over kill. Enough to level the town but leave the area useable.
  14. Explosives, a use for gunpowder.

    Tactical cave-ins ftw
  15. TFC Endgame - To the Clouds!

So is that an official "not going to happen" ?
  16. Rotting wood and weathering?

That actually seams quite doable, by placing the weathered version in a damage level it can cut down on the amount of item ids needed. But stone should really only weather visibly if near water, following the same range as irrigating a dry grass.
  17. Minor Gameplay additions

Well its a fairly basic game, not a weather simulator. So water freezes at 0 C for the sake of consistency.
  18. Mechanical Power. Doing things Better, Faster

Most of these constructions are materially expensive. Mainly for the intent that they be more focused for mid- end game construction.
  19. Mechanical Power. Doing things Better, Faster

-another set of machines with historical roots-- Pneumatic compressor- Compresses air for adjacent machines. It would also allow the flushing of pipes, so as to clear out left over fluids ( a big issue in any mod with pipes (Buildcraft mostly)). Pneumatic tank- a tank that can store compressed air, serves as an energy buffer allowing hand-cranks to power pneumatic objects. made from a hull of black steel sheets with a valve in the middle Pneumatic piston- adjustable piston that can be extended up to 4 blocks and push up to 6 blocks at a time. unlike a minecraft piston it will also pull all six blocks with it. the amount of blocks it pulls can be set in a gui on the main block. crafted with 5 steel sheets in a U shape with a valve in the core and planks across the top. If power is disrupted the machine will stay put if it has to pull anything, if the piston is pushing up gravity would cause it to close. To make the piston arm it would take pneumatictubing which is two vertical strips of steel sheets. Pneumatic engine- a simple waterwheel like engine powered by compressed air. expensive but allows the use of pneumatics powered by hand-cranks to run larger machines. Dispenser redo- the dispenser would be pneumatic, utilizing an internal tank, a hand-crank to pump it, and apneumatic tube for a barrel. power could be adjusted in a gui, but would function similar to a vanilla dispenser (with the advantage of blending in with a TFC blocks). Not really a gun and would do less damage with arrows and javelins than say a bow or throwing them but could be effective non the less. -Use for lead- Lead pipe- can be used to transport small amounts of liquids or pressurized air Lead slugs- can be loaded into the dispenser to create a powerful knock-back trap, or thrown for an accurate flat trajectory throwing weapon (really weak, more for harassment) Lead weights- specialized blocks to be used in machines for weight uses. made from 9 double ingots of lead- - in a power hammer it increases the durability of tool heads, increases chance to craft, but increases power needed to lift - in a gravity battery (the actual name of the tower thing) it would provide double the bonus of stone - in the grain mill the lead weights can be added to the mill stone allowing more efficient grinding - can be attached to the opposite end of a pulley/elevator to counter balance it, making it easier to move larger platforms - an update to the hand-crank- The hand-crank would cause a temp debuff that drained thirst and food quickly for a few seconds upon use
  20. Mechanical Power. Doing things Better, Faster

@allenwl- very good. You pretty much duplicated what i was trying to describe. And as for animation issues- have the weight block move a 16th of a block for a percentage of the total available power. The weight would be at the top when at full power, and work its way down as the power is used.
  21. Animals in 77.22

Yea, animals can be quite rare in b77. @kitty. awesome update to the stone layers, no more useless mountains!!!
  22. An Alternate Dimension

I used to play terraria, i loved the fact that you can dig deeper and deeper. And the world got more dangerous the deeper you go.
  23. An Alternate Dimension

Well the mobs are based on actual creatures, with a minecraft twist. most creatures in the deep caves of the world are barely over a few millimeters in size. with the largest being fish at a few inches. The olms are real amphibians that are about a foot in size. Its just underground in TFC seems so bland. so why not have a deeper area that is nothing but underground caves, tunnels, and caverns? Plus it adds another level of challenge to the world, sure you can survive the equator, sure you can survive the arctic, but can you survive the depths?
  24. An Alternate Dimension

    - Another idea- Add tier 7 metals, (however you would go about doing that) and have required materials for the alloys only be found in the Deep
