      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  2. Great questions. What I would suggest you do is join a town when you get on the server that doesn't have a blacksmith yet, make enough iConomy cash to purchase some plots (one of them being a shop plot) and set up shop for selling tools. You get the set the price for the items you make. That is how the economy will work. If you sell them for too much, people will go to neighboring towns to purchase tools for cheaper. Want to squeeze out the competition? Undercut them! Its all up to you! We are using LWC which is a bukkit plugin that automatically locks your doors, chests, tool racks, anvils etc If you join a town and purchase a plot of land, no one can build or break blocks there unless you share access with that person. Homesteading... will not guarantee protection and you can be the subject of griefing/stealing which will not be a bannable offense on the server as PvP/Roll playing is a core attribute of the server.

    Yeah thats a good point, however what if gypsum could be used in mortar just like flux? So even though its not required, it could still be useful?

The server is the middle of being reset with a new seed. FYI. I will post later when this is complete.

    Beretz, you should look into MultiMC. It allows you to run multiple instances of minecraft so you if you want to play vanilla and then switch back to TFC and vice versa you can do that.

    I was able to turn off cloud shading which made the sky look a little better but not perfect... not like how it is in vanilla minecraft. You'll need specific version of Optifine (use Ultra) Check out the installation instruction on the link I posted in my original comment. It has an easy way of getting this to work. I suggest using MultiMC because you might not get right version of Optifine, also because it kept crashing for me, I figured out using version 1.26 of the shader mod worked better for my video card. Hope that helps. If you get errors, look in the error logs it may tell you that you need a particular version of optifine. Let me know if you get it working.

    Testing this out for my server when we do a reset. I dont know what im doing wrong but I can't seem to fill the water sack. I right click water like I would with a water bottle but it doesn't fill the sack. What could I be doing wrong? After some playing around with it, I see that when I right click water with it, it gets a small red bar but it goes away in less than a second. Maybe I'm working with a bleeding edge version that has a bug in it? This is the link I downloaded it from: http://mrzack.pc-net...TFC_1.1.b75.zip Edit: it works now that I am in NOT in creative. You might want to mention this in the instructions or make it work when you are in creative?

    I'm thinking about starting an LP for TFC. However, I think its going to have a spin on it. I agree with killster that there might not be enough content in TFC by itself and when build 76 comes out, I will be doing a world reset on my server. Our community is anticipating this because at the same time, we've been playing around with some other complimentary mods, specifically Bukkit forge (i.e. essentials, towny and iConomy) What I plan on basing my LP around is kind of like a day in the life of a TFC server. I'm going to produce goods that I will sell to other players, build up a town and a nation... possibly make some enemies with a rival nation... something like that. An episode might consist of planting crops and then building shops. The next episode might consist of selling the crops or producing foods with them to sell etc. Not necessarily based around TFC, but based around server play on a TFC server.

    This is an old thread but I'd like to add my two cents here. I play exclusively on my own SMP server and the mods we are running which we find useful are: Rei's minimap Smart Moving NEI Lanterns Medical Mod (called mbolz after the mod creator) SMP worthy ones: Simply Horses (helps to get around the world quickly and legitly) tradebooth combined with Custom NPCs to get coins for currency and the ability to create player based economy The Elegant Punt (great sail boat mod!) We are also running Traincraft which has some great steam locomotives but when we do a server reset (when build 76 comes out) we are gonig to discard that mod becuase its not being and some people believe it to be "too industrial age". Also we've got Bukkitforge working so we've also got iConomy and Towny as well as essentials set up for keeping people out of places they dont belong (i.e. griefers/thieves) and it creates a create economy as well as political elements when nation/town building.

  18. Added! If you guys would like, I've left my main city (its rather quiet there these days) to join someone else with his town. Come join us and I will set up some plots you can purchase for your own purposes. We have a large foundary with lots of ingots that need to be worked. Added! Helm's Deep has two residents at the moment. I allocated a lot of ore for that town for the purpose of honing metalurgy skills. They are irl buddies so if they are "eh" about you joining their town and sharing the ore, let them know that I said you could have some. Feel free to set up your own trading booths there.

Anyone banned on my server will never play TFC SMP again. I frequently talk to other server owners and we have a black listing thread. I will put your name on there with no issue and no server owner will accept you again. Are you aware of this? Added!
