      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

The next two instalments went live while I was away for the weekend so go check them out!
  2. A small project: useful buildings with a neat design

Great work! I don't feel you over use the support beams at all, I like the style it gives. Please keep this up and do the other buildings too!
  3. A small project: useful buildings with a neat design

I have been looking for inspiration for buildings in my let's play and I noticed your thread the other day and loved your ideas and first design. I mentioned your design in my latest video and hope to use it as inspiration for some of my buildings, so thanks! If you are interested the video is:
  4. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

Thank you :-) I have not been on YouTube for too long but wanted to do things 'right' and try and make it all professional. Parts 8 and 9 are now up for you guys to watch: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLqFcCwOO0Q http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRjKNjK0P7c
  5. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

Part 7 was uploaded earlier, though it is shorter than the rest as I have been ill.
  6. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

I uploaded part 6 today. Made my first anvil in this episode, was so glad to have it done.
  7. Good Mining Practice

I did not know that, at least it still gives you a rough idea. I would rather have a rough idea than digging around looking for a needle some haystacks. It seems this is more like looking for a needle in a haystack but at least you know which haystack it is in!
  8. Good Mining Practice

I have been doing that on my let's play and it has served me very well. The wiki does state that the stones on the surface indicate what ore is in the first rock layer.
  9. Initial Shelter

Ah, that will be why I can't do it then. I am sticking to 49j for my let's play because going 50+ the terrain generation is different. This is the way I have done in but in the newer releases you need a saw for making beams and dirt also won't sit on top of other dirt, it slides off.
  10. Initial Shelter

What do you mean by using the logs not log piles? Also I can't place cobble as a ceiling without it falling down the majority of the time.
  11. Good Mining Practice

I think using a chisel on a "ceiling" block used to stop it from caving in as the changelog for 52d stated "Its no longer possible to smooth/slab/stair the ceiling with a chisel when mining to evade cave-ins."
  12. Initial Shelter

I am currently playing on 49j but have been keeping track of the change log so I can keep my viewers up to date with changes. One major change I noticed was dirt blocks slipping off each other and supports only being able to be made with a saw. This got me wondering how to build some initial shelter as I have been using dirt and supports. My initial thought was log piles and someone also told me about cobble (I never knew you could place stones, doh!), so I did some tests and found that log piles will stay up but cobble seems a little random. Is there a pattern as to when cobble will stay supported or is it random? I am also wondering if log piles have any benefit with more logs in them or if that is purely good for storage and charcoal pits?
  13. Mining Technique

Hello everyone, I have made a good start in my world (on version 49j as upgrading to 50+ caused terrain generation differences which I want to avoid in my Let's Play) and have found my first copper ore vein thanks to a combination of stones on the ground, waypoints and the pro pick. However I am now a little lost as to the best way to go out and find higher tier ores. I saw a post on the forum saying someone dug a spiral down and checked every 12 blocks with the pro pick and started searching once they got a hit, but is that really the best method? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give. Edit: It seems the thread I mentioned is actually pretty much the same question. Mods please feel free to delete this, I posted it in the wrong forum and it is pretty much a duplicate. I should not be allowed on the internet before midday!
  14. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

Part 4 and 5 are now up. Making really good progress but struggling figuring out what I should cover and do next in the series. Any suggestions and feedback is appreciated.
  15. Bassetts' Terrafirmacraft

Part 2 and 3 are also up now, check them out and let me know what you all think. New episodes are being released on Monday and Friday.
