      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Wow that was a quick update! Can confirm destroying doors no longer causing crashes. And all my racks are now organized and labeled to satisfy my OCD :)

(Disregard - recipe is correct, just un-intuitive compared to other TFC ones)

Did notice a problem with the anvil recipe, seems to be backwards. As with all other TFC anvil steps order is Right-Middle-Left, however, to complete the recipe you must do Left-Middle-Right.

So basically, this process should have had all steps in green. (I am also aware the completion markers are not lined up, is just to show the steps)

  2. I would suggest allowing signs to be placed, for those of us that like to label/organize everything.

    Also as a bug report:

When you destroy the doors of a completed cellar (say if you are expanding) it will crash the game when it processes the tick on the Ice Bunker,

  3. So I narrowed it down to a single donkey, however, when I took him away and have not been able to reproduce now. I did notice that there was a donkey that had never been feed/familiarized that had a saddle on it, I remember that when I familiarized another one and tried to put a saddle on her, it put it on the donkey next to me that was not familiarized yet. The donkey that I DID familiarize though was the problematic one, so it may have been that the saddle glitch caused it.

I cannot however reproduce the glitch of putting the saddle on the wrong donkey, and the glitched donkey started working when I led them away and brought back.

Changing topic to "cannot reproduce" unless you would prefer something else.

  4. Update on this, this was happening in my massive horse/donkey breeding farm that I was using to test possibility for mules. So there are over 80 donkeys/horses in a very small area. This is when the crashing would be happen, I lead the donkey that was crashing, away from the farm, and everything worked fine.

I have updated the original bug report to state only happens when close proximity to other donkeys, so not entirely sure how I should mark this thread ;)

  7. In vanilla horses can have saddles and armor, donkeys/mules can have saddles and chest.

In TFC horses can have saddles, and donkeys can have saddles and chest.

I do like the idea of having it so mules cant be ridden, but a mule could be. This functionality may be to difficult to implement though.

  8. Well I am guessing that the reason for not having mules is the same thing that causes the bug with all foals being the same breed/texture as the mother. I don't want it implemented just because its possible IRL, but that its possibly by the game code (is a vanilla feature as well). It really just gives us more options for having a world we want to play in. I personally like Mules in MC because they can have saddlebags and I like the color better ;)

So even if it was setup that the texture for a "mule" would just be an alternate texture for a donkey, that would still make me happy.

  9. Version #: 0.79.13

    SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP and SMP

Suggested Name: Killing a Donkey with a chest drops a vanilla chest

    Suggested Category: Minor

Description: You are able to place any TFC chest onto a donkey to give it the "saddlebags", however, when you kill the donkey, it drops hide, meat, bones, and a vanilla chest. This could be considered an exploit as the vanilla chest can hold all items regardless of its "tfc size". I would suggest a fix be that they just dont drop a chest at all?

  10. Version #: 0.79.13 - 0.79.15

    SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP and SMP

Suggested Name: Foal texture not randomized / no mules

    Suggested Category: (very)Minor

Description: When breeding Horses/Donkeys, the foal always (at least tested 20 times with horses) has the same texture as the mother regardless of the texture the father has. This may also be the reason why mules are not currently possible, tested this 40 times.

  11. Wasnt sure if this should go in discussion or in support, or be split into several topics.

First is that it does not look like it is possible to breed a Mule, as the breed of the foal (baby) is the same as the mother. I may be wrong with this, but I have breed 20 horses and 20 donkeys (with the opposite male) and has been the case every time. Not sure if there is anything that can be done with the TFC code in order to "fix" this because of the added gender mechanics.

Second, while running the tests above, I also noticed that the texture of the foal is always the same as the mother. This is something else I believe would be a nice "fix"/feature that it would randomize the texture as it does in vanilla.

Third, you are able to put a chest (any type) onto a donkey. When the donkey is killed it will drop a vanilla chest. This could possibly be considered an exploit, as with vanilla chests you can place any item in it and not have to worry about size of the item.

So I guess my 'suggestions' would be about the ability to breed mules, and also a random texture when you breed a horse. I can make a formal bug report of the chest if that would be advised.

EDIT: I have put these into topics in the support thread now.

  12. "She's the admin this forum deserves, not the one it needs right now. A not so silent protector. The Kitty..."

Haha this is actually very true, with every community there are going to be toxic individuals (this is not meant to single anyone out). Sometimes you must show some "tough love" in order to maintain order within the community. If you do not, those toxic members can cause the entire community to become toxic, and we really don't need a LoL community here ;)

  13. The "stairs" show a hitbox of the entire block (1 cubic meter). Cutting down in slab mode will show the hitbox the same size as the visible block.

Example if you slab it down 4 times, the hitbox is 1m length, 1m width, 0.5m high... where stair mode still shows a 1m high hitbox.

Sadly, either way will not stop rain from putting out torches/forges, but does stop the rain particles.
