      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Paper

With the adition of sugercane being a terrafirmacraft crop the vanila sugercane has akwardly stayed in the game to be able to make paper. This was even in vanila minecraft a bit questionable. Since paper making is a bit of a complecated process I don't believe we can reproduce that process. But I do believe we can do a better job of the making of paper look more believable. We could make it so that wood or tatch has to be grinded to some for of pulp that has to be soaked in lime water and has to be dried afterwards. Why would you need to go through the trouble when paper is not so important? Because nametags and books are made out of paper high quality stuff I would say.
  2. [79.7] Garnierite and more

Seed: 5030026511049590772 You spawn near a creeper face on the beach. The main rock you spawn on is rocksalt There are a lot of cows and horses I even saw some sheep (by the kaolite mountain) There is a lot of garnierite around and a Mountain with kaolite The tree types are douglas fir, maple and chestnut. Some "important" cordinates are: Kaolite mountain (x:5437 z:-12556) Jute (x:5563 z:-13081) (only 3 so kinda rare so I gave de cords) Copper (x:5659 z:-13028) (not spot on and also kinda "rare" so you need to move away from the rocksalt a bit to find it) Not gonna say the garnierite cordinates they are somewhere arount kaolite mountain there are many vains so you will find it. I missed likely many things while looking arount a bit in creative. But I'm planning to play in this seed so I may post more locations as I progress (SSP). So feel free to join me and take this seed and share your findings with me. Here is are some pictures (I don't know how to put images in a post so I here is a imgur galary):http://imgur.com/a/na1gM#Cdu7b25
  3. Bats!

Well after looking things up in the morning I must say your absolutly right even wikipedia states that guano belongs under manure. I was only thinking of guano as this great resourse that where many cultures made use from and thought that is we made it a not renewable resourse that it would be ok. I must say I was getting ahead of myself. Also I learn english by reading in many contexts, manure is a word that I don't see often so I asumed it to have a bit of a different meaning than it had. So I want to appologize for my misunderstanding. (I still like the idea of guano but I can now totally see why it would not be a good idea) As for disease anything much further then a cold would propably be too much though a cold itself would be nice since there already is a heatstroke but things like a cold propably need a post on it's own if there isn't one already. But now lets continue brainstorming for a function of bats
  4. Bats!

Take a look at the "Do Not Post the Following Suggestions" this applies also to people who reply to a post I image. >
  5. Vary casting quantities

I like the idea of the 50 unit tools. The 150 unit tools are just not usable for the higher tiers, drop them to 100 units I would say. And a pickaxe should be 100 units otherwise the balance of the game would be gone. (I would otherwise have said send it too 150 unit tools but those are out of question) For the 50 unit tools I would suggest that higher tier tools need a splitting step because smitting 2 knife blades in one go would be weird. This would make swords and maces more of a big deal early game and metal knifes/ javelins more likeable.
  6. Rename Items

Ah your right I didn't even notice wow... (Oeps) How unexpected, now I must confess it wasn't a feature I personally used in vanilla. Going back and replacing chest with named chest was never my style. But it was a feature of renaming I remembered. Oh well It was one of the more obscure features anyway
  7. Bats!

On topic of eating bats there is a special wikipedia page for. However hunting bats for their meat would be as usefull as hunting squit for calamari. The page also speaks about bats being hunted for skin but bat skin would be too small for TFC norms. And for their guano, the bats shouldn't drop fertilizer. Guano should be generated in caves or something so when we harvest it then it's gone just like with the guano we have. Then we can convert the guano too fertilizer or use it directly as fertilizer. This might make caves more exciting. And maybe bats could spawn more often near guano. This doesn't really give bats much more use (maybe bat meat but yeah) but it would make them fit in TFC a lot more. Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_(food)%C2'> This are my thoughts after a bit of research hope it helped
  8. Rename Items

No vanilla has a feature that if you rename a chest in an anvil and place the chest the chest says whatever you called it instead of "chest" on the inventory screen of the chest.
  9. C̶o̶t̶t̶o̶n̶ Flax (thanks hector)

I like the general idea of there to be more crops with a function that isn't food like jute.
  10. Rename Items

With this also other things could be named with a nametag like chests
  11. Bats!

bats are still vanilla from what I understand last time I tested I could oneshot them with a punch. So I guess TFC hasn't done anything with them.
  12. Slight change to back slot items

Armor goes on your body if you right-click why not let you right click a backslot item? And if shift-right-clicking the ground with a emty hand you place if possible your back slot item(not a shift click in the inventory so it sould be fair). This would make the back slot item more accessible. Not right clickable back slot items (quivers) could become placable.
  13. Slight change to back slot items

Rule #1 in TFC? (See Support) Yeah I don't think they like shift clicking. (I'm still use shift clicking, I'm such a cheater)
  14. Oke I want this clear once and for all. Should gravel be supported by support beams? I'm not asking what would be realistic, I'm asking what good gameplay would be because this is also part of terrafirmacraft. That graval isn't supported annoys the heck out of me. I really find any with the mining of surface ore. It is a pain do dig up all the gravel/dirt and it completely wreacks the invironment. This is a pain because you tend to mine close by home in the beginning. And it just doesn't make sense to me that dirt is supported and gravel is not. I see everywhere on the forum questions and argument about this topic so lets make it clear.
  15. [79.6] Kaolinite and Graphite near spawn

From my test are ores randomly placed within a ore vein. So locations are still usefull for seeds.
  16. Graphite

In the seeds section of this forum is a seed that says kaolite and graphite near spawn for 79.6 so I guess you're not having luck.
  17. Ceramic tools

Not so serious intro: So when you start terrafirmacraft there is a point where you have your first metal but not enough to really make tools with just jet. You are irritaded with the fast breaking stone tools. Then why wouldn't you make ceramic tools? Because they aren't in the game you fool! (lol) But seriously why are there no clay/ceramic tools? Nowdays we got plenty of ceramic knifes, shovels and axes. I'm Suggesting that we get a ceramic "upgrade" for all the stone tools so no ceramic pickaxe to be clear. It seems to me something people would use and it wouldn't hurt to have a more smooth transition into metal tools. I don't think it would be to game changing and it would help people who have trouble setting up or help people who like staying in the stone age for a bit longer.
  18. Stone Knife Mines Ores

This kinda fits in with the surface ores you sometimes see. If you find surface ore your bount to advance faster than someone who has to make a pro-pick first. You just have other priorities when you find surface ore. The mining without pick is not something everyone will do I imagen because of the time it takes vs finding nuggets. But it could be a thing you can do in the night if you made a bit of a safe spot there.
  19. [79.7] Garnierite and more

There is a link to a imgur gallery because as explained, I don't really know how to post them directly in the topic. If you or someone else could help me explain to me how to then I will fix it. (It is probably right in my face and I'm look over it or don't know how to use it)
  20. I don't think it should be a config option because then nothings gonna change. Lets face it most of us are too lazy to the config anyway or want to play the game as it was intended. What I'm trying to say is that the config is just a compromise and not the solution. (This how I feel about it anyway)
  21. In games I always like the collecting aspect. So I want a book that holds record of these collections. This book should not hold every item or provide information about the collected item (it could but that would be just detail). The book should give a sense of completion by showing a percentage of completion. The book could hold the following collectables: - Gems (this started the idea) - Rock types - Metals (nuggets, poor, normal, rich) - Alloys (or ingots) - Minerals - Saplings (Wood?) - Seeds (Food?) - Fruit tree saplings - Berry bushes This book should not be a game changing mechanic but something to fill your time with. The book should be manual you doing it because you want it not because it’s needed. I’m not expecting that it would be reasonable to expect anyone to complete it but I think it would be neat to have. When I think of it I think of a book that shows pages when you register the items (it should not consume items) but leave greyed out items of types of the item that you haven’t seen (like with poor and rich metals). And maybe with taps for the different collectables with each have a own percentage (so the gems don’t drag everything down). This book could be a way to integrate some of the documentation ideas but this topic isn’t meant for that. The book could ultimately for the players who find it worthwhile a progress report of some sort. It could also serve as a bit of a competition for players on servers. The book could be separated in part feel free to suggest what could be improved on this idea and if you think it could fit in the mod.
  22. World Generation controls.

In vanilla there is the tiny biomes option, maybe something like this for the stone layers would also be fun to play around with.
  23. A slight modification to logpile block physics

If logpiles are going to be GUI-less then I feel like it should come with a way of placing stacks of logs at once. Otherwise I feel it would become tedious really quick. Other that I think it would be great to have.
  24. Mobile back mounted log carrying aparatus.

    This is great, love it!
