      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Ahhh yes, the spice melange. That was my first thought. Second was actually spices for cooking since I'm also a chef lol.
  2. Early power systems

    The mod's focus is NOT advancement, but survival. Advancement through the different ages is just a set of levels/tiers to give a sense of progression and accomplishment. Buuuuut, I won't say I don't want to get simple mechanical systems (no more than steam power - I think that'd be a good place to stop). And even then, I also think that this 'power' should be mainly for luxury items/blocks/etc. I don't really want to see fully automated farms and such.

    I think it would be a lot more frustrating if there was more ore. I'd be changing directions constantly while tracking down one vein if there were 2 in the area.

    I have. I have two axes, one with a metal handle and the other is a double-edge with a wooden handle (made of hardwood). If it did flex it would increase the time it took to hack up some wood. Having a flexible handle causes you to lose some of the power going into your swing. Think of it as if someone grabbed your baseball bat mid swing, you wouldn't be delivering as much power unless you put more effort into your arm movements to compensate for the fact that the bat isn't going to be able to provide the follow-through power. Also, don't forget that the focus of the mod isn't reality and realism - those are just the inspiration and ideas that provide a believable feeling for the game.

  14. Enchantment system

    Wow so many posts to read since I last posted - I didn't say the lightning was a requirement (did I?) I meant for it to be as a bonus or as a cool ingredient. And on top of that, what's to say the mechanics aren't designed so that every time you make a successful enchantment that lightning might strike your table . And who's to say that deserts won't get more storms alongside an update if lightning was that much more useful? Could make dry storms for deserts... something like worm sign hmmm. Anyway, ignore me, it's 4am lol.

    I believe there are 2 other metals that you can start from, zinc and bismuth. People just seem to focus on tin first. P.S. There is a spear - it's the javelin made from flint and 2 sticks (vertically)
  16. The Problem with Trees - Seeds

    It's a good idea but the seeds dropping from trees is slightly mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong). These are fruit trees - the seeds are in the fruit. If you were to get the seeds you'd get them from the fruit, they wouldn't drop separately. Essentially (this isn't implemented) you would craft the fruit to get the seeds just like the watermelon in vanilla. This also means that a naturally spawning tree would have to drop its fruit (or retrieved by an animal) to the ground, which even then doesn't guarantee the seeds will be viable or take root. There are a few fruit trees in the woods here and an apple tree in the back yard - 15 years - no sprouts on its own.

  18. Low end system here! Old intel dual core laptop, integrated gfx, and 4GB ram . Yet I still manage to work in After Effects, 3DS Max, AND Photoshop (at once) with very little lag Tested the dynamic lights mod a long time ago and I only had an FPS drop of about maybe 2-8fps.

    Except for the first one, they all look like the blade material is either iron or steel.

    Lightning strikes affecting enchanting = awesome. I want to wire a lightning rod to the top of my house. Maybe the lightning is a key ingredient in enchanting.

    I'm not the only artist though, and actually (shhh) we don't know where Sleep went. Haven't heard from him in a few days now. X_X He's the one that did the bad-ass armor and the trees. I've only been working on agriculture and, as of late, the recent additions as well. I'm just in it for the fun really since it's my profession anyway (and sadly no real jobs have come up so I'm a lil bored/broke).
