      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Patron Spirits

    1.) Patron Spirits: Upon world generation, "Patron Spirits" would be generated and tied to regions. These regions should be defined by biome and waterlines (beaches, rivers, etc). These patron spirits would have different "likes" and "dislikes" that trend towards being related to each other, but can be completely random. Players have no way of knowing what a Patron Spirit's likes and dislikes are, or even if one exists in their region. Patron Spirits would have "Favors" and "Blights" that they would inflict based on their opinion of the local players, and their general demeanor. These could range from bad weather, to disease, to increased mob spawning/strength/armor wearing rate/item pickup ability rate, among other things. These would all be randomly generated and tied to that specific Patron Spirit, but multiple spirits could have the same effects. 2.) Rituals and Sins: "Rituals" could be carried out that would change the opinions of Patron Spirits. These rituals would be randomly generated and tied to the spirits, but would trend towards certain characteristics related to the environment and the demeanor of the specific Spirit. Rituals could be reciting certain words and phrases (which would be procedurally generated from logical combinations of words), they could be sacrifices of certain items (trending towards being related to the demeanor of the Spirit, or the environment), or they could be creating structures out of certain materials. Sacrificing items could be as simple as leaving them out to decay over time, throwing them in a fire, or leaving them in a chest sitting someplace. Leaving them within a certain distance of a type of block or land formation could also be an aspect of it. On the flipside of Rituals, there are certain behaviors that are frowned upon by Patron Spirits, or downright hated by them. These are called Sins. maybe the Patron Spirit of a forest dislikes a specific kind of tree being chopped, but enjoys them being planted. Maybe a patron spirits has extreme disdain or Bismuth Bronze, but enjoys people wearing steel. It could be even something as ridiculous as a Spirit auto-aggroing Endermen on anyone who has built with Aspen planks within the last 24 hours. Extreme examples like that last one would be exceedingly rare, of course. These are just examples of things that would be possible with a modular, procedurally, and randomly generated Patron Spirit system.
  2. Anyone care to clarify? I am confused. Additionally, I had also been teleporting to random coordinates near 0,0 and finding that no trees spawned far away from the original spawn point. While it saw some success, seeing actual organized raids on attackers versus defenders, it was hampered by the limitations of Vanilla Minecraft, and was ultimately shut down. This all changed when I, Sting_Auer, learned of Terrafirmacraft. The combination of an overhauled resource system, and the overall slowed pace of the game, solved the problems that faced Vanilla Aquor. With a new tool bestowed by Bioxx and Dunkleosteus, the developers for Terrafirmacraft, I forged a new server, and Aquor saw greater success than it once had. While the playerbase was initially smaller, the game was much more engaging and thought-provoking. Risks needed to be weighed more carefully, and player cooperation – as well as competition – was more meaningful. Now, unlike in Vanilla Minecraft, civilizations pour their resources and labor power into powerful castles and fortifications instead of building obsidian cubes floating in the sky. With the increasingly region-dependent resource distribution, inter-civilization trade is becoming more and more important. Changes to metalworking have made it easier for new players to get off the ground and start playing, while still giving more established players a defensive advantage, if not an offensive one. This server has had its ups and downs, and its goals as a server and a community have changed over time. The current plan is to raise enough money to build a proper dedicated server machine, and afford greater bandwidth, resulting in a higher player cap. Donations are accepted, and Subscription is available to those that would like something in return for supporting the server. Rules: To maintain a friendly, but still competitive environment in Aquor, certain rules must be followed. While we wish to grant players as much freedom as possible, there are certain behaviors that must be restricted to make the gaming environment enjoyable for as many players as possible. This includes, but is not limited to, saying or alluding to Rape, discussing sex in a joking or unprofessional manner, and other similar topics. 2.) Cheating of any kind is not permitted. Personal attacks on other players is not permitted. Banter between players is fine, as it is a part of the competitive gameplay. 4.) The admins have final say in what happens on the server. That being said, you can voice your opinions in a respectful manner, and the admins will listen. 5.) Griefing and raiding are allowed, but don't be a jerk about it! The point of this server is to have fun, not make others feel bad or quit the server. Making people leave is a loss for everyone, not just the quitter. 6.) Always be courteous to other players. If something you are doing is interfering with another players ability to enjoy the server experience, then you should stop! Unless it breaks a rule or stops you from enjoying the server in the way it is meant to be played, there is no need to continue. 7.) Metagaming, while it can't be stopped, is heavily discouraged. Metagaming entails causing other players to quit, doing things outside of the game that are detrimental to others (regular communication is fine), or anything that works outside of the intentions of the game. Not only does it ruin the fun for other people, but it's actually detrimental to the server itself! 8.) Outside of ~9KM from spawn, you are not allowed to farm. This is a soft limit, so if you are afraid that you are breaking it, contact an admin and they will check your coordinates and location to make sure it's okay. Ban appeals: The friendly people at Aquor want to give hopeful players a second chance.   8. Combat Revamp Opinion Poll

    Something that would arguably be required for combat to be better balanced is a player inventory limited by mass and volume. Being able to carry one of each weapon, enough arrows for an entire army, and an extra suit of armor or two pretty much defeats the purpose of things being better against other things, since you can just swap out your gear based on the situation. Everything devolves into seeing what they're wearing at this instant, switching to the appropriate counter, then ambushing them and hoping you can kill them before they swap out to THEIR better gear. A mass limit would slow you down as you added more weight to yourself and your inventory. Wearing a heavy suit of armor would approach or surpass the mass cap, slowing you down. Lightweight armors (or foregoing armor entirely) wouldn't have a risk of maxing out your mass limit unless you were carrying many sets, and at that point the volume limit would kick in and limit you in that way.

    Based on world seed, different boozes would have different baseline "trends" towards certain effects. These "trends" could be affected by altitude of fermentation, average rainfall of where it was fermented, average temperature of fermentation, and length of fermentation. The effects of different altitudes, rainfalls, temperatures, and lengths would be determined by seed. EDIT: Also the type of wood used for the barrel.

    ========================= I suppose horses shouldn't be added because my group in a PvP server would be defeated by horseback riders? I'm all for this idea. In fact, I'd actually like to see more things done in this way. ratios for alloys Nutrient types of crops(maybe?) Maybe even certain crafting recipes could be affected by world seed, mostly in the sense of how much or what resources are needed for it. (This one isn't particularly good) Hunger amounts filled by different foods. Stats for different armors and weapons could be slightly affected by seed. Stats of mobs could be slightly affected by world seed. The list goes on.

    I would like to suggest further slowing down weapon attack speeds, if possible. After some experience with PvP using the new TFC weapons, I think that slower attack speeds on daggers, swords, and halberds alike would make PvP less frantic and hectic. Timing attacks, blocking, drawing back etc. isn't really possible when the slowest weapon still hits too quickly for said actions to be useful. EDIT: Something else just occurred to me. If combat is slowed down, it becomes a bit more "personal", in a way. The combatants view each others fighting styles and the ways they attack. People will begin to develop unique fighting styles. Do you always stay on the offensive, pushing towards your opponent at all times? Do you draw backwards and strike when you see an opening? Do you stand your ground, waiting for you opponent to come to you?

    ============================ So what you're saying is that we need to weaponize retarded birds... In all seriousness though, it's completely possible to have birds of prey attack people on command. Animals can be trained to do just about anything that they are physically capable of. EDIT: Golden Eagles are used to hunt wolves. I have no doubts that they, along with other birds of prey, could be trained to attack a person on command.
