      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Anybody know what names should I put in the Dynamic Lights config file for the lanterns and gems to work?

If you install NEI and go to the in-game menu options, click on an option labled Data Dump, which downloads an Excel Sheet of all the item information, modded or vanilla. It's found in the new "data dumps" folder of your ".minecraft" folder. You can then plug those names into Dynamic Lighting's config options

  2. Seems like the latest version has a minor naming error on one file.

The AlabasterLight_blue.png is not found when the mod is loaded the file is currently named AlabasterLightBlue.png

I copied and added the file back into the jar as AlabasterLight_blue.png and it works now. Caps and lowercase had to be exact for the error to clear up.

I have noticed there is a similar issue with the Rock Salt Mud Brick, though I do not know how to change it myself

  3. I made a new world a few days ago and, after making my first hut and bronze materials, I decided it was time for a new house! I designed a bunker template within this mountain, but I'm stuck between what theme or wood scheme to go with. Therefore, I decided to consult the master builders of the forums! Comment on what you feel could look good, and any new suggestions would be highly appreciated! I have the Decorations Add-on installed, which adds mud bricks and alabaster, if that opens up anyone else's creative mind.

  4. I'm still new at editing configs and files, so could someone go into full detail on how to add TerraFirmaCraft specific items to DynamicLights? I wanted to make a new forum on it, until  I found this post

  5. Ah! Thank you; for some reason those were the only pages I haven't looked for it again :D

Damage isn't calculated, it's just static numbers that we chose, although vanilla Minecraft might tweak how much damage things do based on the in-game difficulty level. I'm not quite sure what you mean by health systems.

*Note: The difference in what is stated as the starting maximum health is the two different perspectives for players who do and do not think of dairy as a requirement. The math is the same in the end.

Alright then. I suppose that answers my question, since I meant to ask if the numbers were formulated and calculated or just picked as what would sound balanced. Thanks for clearing that up!

What I meant by "health systems" were why the Mobs and The Player have 500 and 1000 HP in TFC rather than the normal 20 HP system of Vanilla. Like is there is an actual system in place to determine those specific numbers, or was it, again the numbers that felt right in the sense?

  6. So I downloaded a weapons mod to allow me to shoot creepers and bears with cannons and crossbows until I realized the damage they do is based on Vanilla damage systems (while a cannon does 25 health points, which insta-kills a Vanilla zombie, it only does a fraction of damage to a TFC zombie, who have a much higher base health). I wanted to know if there was a way to change damage multipliers in the TFC configs, or if I'll just have to find a mod that lets me change both player stats and those of mobs. If anyone has any comments that could help, feel free to help!

  7.

If you placed the 8 stone and instead of placing the sticks you place stones on the next block the fire pit would turn into a 4x4 pit and you would need 16 stones and 8 sticks. This would be like a bornfire and you would have a more fuelgridboxes in the GUI.

Great idea. Like the upgrade system in Don't Starve :D Though should there be a reprecussion to a bigger fire? Maybe more chance of fire spreading getting burned?

The idea is good, what if cooking food is generally displayed from the out side? In the beginning maybe just by being stuck on a stick. Somewhat like this?

What about the use of ceramic and large vessels to cook the food around the fire?
