      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I can attest that is not so. They are very very rare to be sure but I did find two gardens and a few hives.

For sure two gardens is not enough for 2 players. There is a problem of gardens generation smp. I didn't say pam harvest doesn't work in smp (cause calamy drop raw food, and i saw hive too) but in 3 islands generated we saw 0 gardens :0

I saw in pam config file i can up the rate, i didn't touch it for the moment cause i think is not the solution, why gardens spawing is correct in ssp and is not in smp? For the same reason why knapping didn't working in smp but in ssp? IMO

  2. Hum, another bug, in SMP always,

I go through a first island portal, ok it works, i walk over the way in black and go through portal again.

When i supposed to be teleported to the second island, the connection with server is lost. I have no crash report client side, but server side :

I don't yet know if I'm going to change how we get crops from harvestcraft. For now the gardens are an effective solution while I work on the far more important aspects of tfc2.

    Sure

  5. Pam's harvestcraft was different  at 1.6.4, there was no Garden. But since 1.7.10 garden birth :'(

Pam's harvestcraft 1.6.4 : there were Group of 3 or 4 plants of the same kind, like carrot, blueberry, rutabaga, etc. They bring diversity to the landscape and ambiant. There is any way to lead 1.11.2 pam's harvest craft like 1.6.4 ?

Edit : Ok, i deleted minecraft, re-instal 1.11.2 + forge, it's work fine now with ssp smp (i create new world for smp) :o

Hum, SMP only : sometimes i can't knap, sometime i can, really odd :0

(SSP) I have an another problem, my brother and i, can't make a firepit, we throw down 4 rock, 4 stick and at least 1 log (we try with 2, 3, even with 64), and fire with starter but, there is only smoke and spark, no fire pit :'( (i try to fire with 5 starters, nothing!)

So i watch some video on youtube, but they do exactly the same i did, but it works for them and not for me :(

Edit : Daaamn, i read somewhere i need to add 4 straw now :0 (0.1.8)

  8. Brick Pipes (Made on a crafting table)

brick pipes are cheap and easy to make but they break down wthin a month ingame

they would be amde with 6 bricks allong the top and bottom and brick morter in the center (to be decided how it would be crafted)

Why they should Break Down within a month ingame?

I think they only must be use for irrigation application, no water purification.

You can also make Clay pipe, by coating a Log or broad stick with clay and burn it. (Clay harden and low disapear, you have a "clay pipe")

    Your recipe works fine too.

(copper pipes would also remove *some* infectious things from the water, seriously this is a real thing that copper does look it up :P)

True, but i believe that will not be some of "purification water" in TFC 2. (but i really wanna it)

Steel Pipes (Made on an Anvil)

Steel pipes are the ultimate evolution of the pipe, they don't rust they don't break down and they are more sesistant to explosions then iron pipes but they are hard to craft!

    Steel aren't stainless by defaut.

You need to add Nickel and chrome and low carbon quantity in it.

    X2CrNi18-9 is a basic Stainless steel containing 0.02% carbon - 18 % Chrome - 9% nickel.

The chrome is a good counter-oxydation (i dunno the correct word in english) from oxygen present in water/air

Nickel aren't needed but increased the counter oxydation level.

A basic steel get 0.12 to 2% carbon, it's really hard in the timeframe of TFC to make stainless steel (which get often lower than 0.12%).

(Decreasing the amount of carbon by injecting pure oxygen to "burn" carbon.)

A High carbon steel (1%) are destinated to be Surface/Core Tempering. (carbon in the center of the piece will move to the surface and increased the Hardness, but Choc resistance decreased).

(note: I'm not just launch wiki and teach yours what i read, i'm industrial designer in a copper/nickel alloys french foundery, and i must often choose some steel for gear, etc.)

  9. I like the idea of "clay version", buy i like also "cooking high level tier".

I think clay pot heat slower than wrought pot, and make more time to cook ingredients, plus break chance and lost component.

Ah, i forget to say : If you read wrong english sentence in my op, please correct me

  10. For the last month, I have been working on an addon that expands cooking in TFC. While it will be off in future updates, a Crock pot/dutch oven like that used in "Don't Starve" will definitely be part of my addon in the future. ;)

    Hi,

Really cool, i read shortly your topic, but you would implement modern recipe like pizza, lemonade, etc... I'm not really enjoy that. Can you make an addon Crock pot + TFC Timeframe food recipe side by side of your Food addon?

    Like this :

    - Your food addon (with modern recipe like pizza, etc)

    - Crock pot addon + recipe TFC timeframe

    ?

I edited my post to add Crock pot making recipe information.

I ll add informations about UI of Crock pot soon

  11. Hi Cavemans.
I ll do my best to be clear, i'm not english, i am french.
I haven't any skill in coding, so i can't do it by myself, this is why i request your help to make this CrockPot addon possible.

    Name: Crock Pot, meals creator.

    Introduction :

It's a new block/items, looks like mix between crucible and Foodstation.

It releases Wrought Iron tier Meals that resplendish better your hunger bar, restor little life and some effect (depending of complexity and rarity of ingredient)

It adds also diversity to the game, i'm french as i said before : I love eat epic meal.

    Mechanic :

    1. You need to make a CrockPot block, by add Wrought Iron2 Pot + Wrought Iron Lid2 in your crafting slot.
    2. It's needed to be put on a firepit or a forge.
    3. Right click on the crockpot block to open UI
    4. Put in liquid (Fresh water, oil, alcohol, milk...), ingredient (30oz slot), epices1 and Storage item like bowl or stick for the meal
    5. Launch cooking and wait the time requiered
    6. Get the meals
    7. Eat and enjoy.
    8. Repeat.

1 : Only if we implement new wild crops : Thym, ChillyPepper, Pepper, and others.

2 : Make them in a forge with sheet, recipe available below.

    User interface :

    160112121048467862.png

1- Crock pot icon UI (it changes function of open/close)

    2- Remaining Liquid

    3- Temp °

    4- Ingredients recipe, 1 slot = 30 Oz

    5- Food obtained

    6- Launch Cooking button

7- Misc Storage (bowl, stick, etc.)

    8- Remaining time

    Crock Pot Block recipe :

    Meals Recipe :

They aren't random combinaison like sandwich, pre-determined food recipe as don't starve with sometime few ingredient possible.

I don't give any value for hunger, only heal atm.

  12. One idea that I proposed was to make a system similar to the one we have now for Familiarization.

Because of Server/Multiplayer and single player exploration, we have to take on account and make it so animals would not die of starvation.

I think the way to go would be to tie animal production to a minimum of 5 day feeding.

take a chicken for example: Feed a chicken for 5 days and after that it will give you an egg a day as long as you keep feeding.

The same could hold true for other animals:

    Sheep with Wool.

    Cows with Milk.

Any and all animals unfed would be considered too skinny to give any meat.

I like this idea. But the last point  "Any and all animals unfed would be considered too skinny to give any meat." shouldn't be so strict, i think a minimal (3 or 4 less than normal) and shouldn't be applicable on wild animal (if wild animal give any meat because you don't feed them seems no sens)

  13. I think if Kitty said it's a building game, it's a building game ...

I really enjoyed the encumberance system in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It represented limits on bulk and weight via grid space and stack size. Large items take more space in inventory, heavy or not. Small items only take a small space. Heavy items don't stack, very light items will.

If i well understood before your post, if you restrict stack/number of slot inventory, minecraft cannot make the difference between inventory and storage. So you must have 1000 slot to stock 1000 stone if 1 stone take 1 slot in your inventory. I think it could be work if you stack stone in a pile, like log or clay mold etc, but not in an classic storage device.

  14. Hi,

In the Darkness Suvival mode found on ATLauncher, there is something interesting.

You can make/loot 10 potions with unknown effect before drink them one time. (existing only 10 items, they are no random generation, they are predeterminated item).

Before drink them, their name is Unknown Potion. with no description and get the same icon. But after drank they have new description with bad/good effect on you (like regeneration, poison, sick, etc.) and a name

That be cool if something like this applied to berry. You don't know if you can eat or no them, so you harvest them and try at home. Same thing could be applied for mushroom.

I like to the idea of poisonous/medicinal berry. But i think they are the same thing.

In fact most of medicinal plants are poisonous, but in little quantity could heal you.

I'm sorry i can't explain myself deeply in english =/

  15.

And washing your meat off in water especially considering the timeframe of TFC is like the worst thing you can do. It's much more likely that there are contaminates in the water that will make your meat even worse to eat than if you hadn't dipped it in the river in the first place.

    Hi

    What about water detoxification?

Like Sand&coal Filter + Warming water?

Sand&coal filter for heavy metal present in water and warm water at 100°C to eliminate microbiology ?

  16. Hi,

What about : Taste & Sanity

Introduce Sanity level could be good thing.

Explain : You are alone and you are always eating the same thing, really? Bad day with your gold pan, and f*** food (imagine highschool day + school food).

Eating good things you like make your sanity goes well and eating something your character dislike down your sanity.

example : Your character dislike brocolies, and when you eat it you're sanity down. So you'll search if possible another vegetable etc.

When you're sanity is higher than a level (like 700 of 1000, it's just an example) you get buff, and lower than 250 you got debuff. between 251 and 699 all it's normal.

Note : Sanity could be affected by other thing like weather, creature, biome... but sanity suggestion should need a full topic, and i'm not english, it's little hard to translate my original opinion =S

  17. Hi everybody.

I think all knows Tinker Construct Tool System. It's pretty cool, because material get own property.

Example to introduce bone tool :

Bone Head tool > 0.75 Faster/durability than Stone

Bone Head Weapon available in stone age (Javelin, knife, Arrow head) > 1.25 More damages/durability

Bone Rod > make durability +10% than Wood rod (cause bone is better than wood in many side IRL)

No shovel and Axe in bone, cause make shovel of axe with femur =S

I think Bone needle could be good idea to sewing little pieces of leather together to make larger item or block in leather.

IMO silex should be use for tool/weapon crafting instead of stone and should be better

We can imagine 2 tiers material in stone age : T1 - Wood & Stone  / T2 Bone & Silex

Silex Head tool > 1.5 Faster/   0.5 less durability than Stone

Silex Head Weapon available in stone age (Javelin, knife, Arrow head) > 1.50 More damages/ 0.5 less durability than stone

To carving silex, you need stone hammer and a stone anvil.

Stone knife to carving bone instead of rock.

Best combinaison Bone rod + Silex Head for damages / fast

Best conbinaison Bone + Bone head for durability (execpt shovel/axe)

Here the idea is to promoted silex and bone usage
