      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Nostalgia

Java's actually simpler, from what I have heard.
  2. Nostalgia

Dwarf Fortress is vastly complex, and it is only being coded by a one-man studio. Creating 3D graphics is probably the easier part, but coding is like learning alanguage. That's the harder part.
  3. Crack a joke

Joke: Go home and read a guide on how to be a comedian, your jokes aren't funny. (Sounds more blunt and mean, to be honest, .)
  4. 7 word story

been eaten by the Grim Reaper himself

I must keep my dominance in the Forum Games subforum from Corki99...!!!

  7. Whispers #1

/me says "NOPE" and everything turns into nothing.
  9. Nostalgia

It depends on what happens down the road. For all we know, it could take until the day Dwarf Fortress is officially completed, which is going to be in the next decade.
  10. TerraFirma+ : Animals & Carts

Moress, we're all equals here. Those folks have the same privilege to have a say in all of the discussablethreads as much as you do. Also, just simply saying that the TFC community is immature just because one user laughed at the 'Wild Ass' is being stereotypical. There used to be plenty of users with the qualities you are looking for, but right now,we are very few(including me), so don't expect all comments to be constructive. Take the comments you are given with heart, and, if you can, try to strike up animateddiscussions with them. -Sda209.
  11. Well... I want to say Off-Topic, to be honest, but on the other hand, this would correlate to the aesthetic appearances of early bronze/brass knives. If Mr. Dunkleosteus is planning to take Metallurgy that far, then I would say that this should belong in the Discussion subforum, since it's more of a discussion subject than an actual suggestion. At least, in my eyes.
  12. TerraFirma+ : Animals & Carts

I would say that animal genetics, forms of transportation, and botany had already been suggested in the past. In fact, Mr. Dunkleousteus is already planning to overhaul the mobs in the future; we just don't exactly know when. As for your suggestion in general, genetics can be quite a tricky thing. Mutations can occur, genetic diseases might happen, but that's not really the point right now. Though, you have stated you are still working on your suggestion, keep in mind that breeding can be very tricky and finicky, at times. As for generation length, I think the limited number of days in the TFC year should be sufficient enough for one generation, at least.
  13. Custom Ores, Smithing Recipies

Ah, I see. I must have misread something over your original suggestion. The addition of custom alloys and smithing blueprints sounds very interesting, to be honest.Contrarily, you never really described how would one port such an alloy, since most alloys from the different tech mods tend to have different properties from TFC's, and it can get real tedious to assign the appropriate properties after a little while. But, I assume you already have that covered? And the smithing blueprints, if implemented, they allow a high degree of flexibility and creativeness, right? So, that means I can create a shuriken if I wanted to? To me, there is a great amount of potential for both modders and players if an extra UI porter feature is included in TFC's Creative Mode. I can only imagine the whole lot of customization options for alloys and blueprints should this suggestion ever get off the ground.
  14. Custom Ores, Smithing Recipies

I see. My original point was more or less involved with saying that I didn't think this would work, because I thought some of the features could be potentially ground-breaking with other mods. I didn't know Optifine was still compatible, however, because I thought Mr. Bioxx broke the compatibility with Optifine months ago.
  15. it came from space...

I think that idea has already been suggested, before. Never dwelt on the matter, though.
  16. TerraFirmaCraft 1,2,3 ?

Clarification: TFC II is canceled by Mr. Bioxx, and instead, we're just having TFC. That's it.
  17. Custom Ores, Smithing Recipies

Eh.... I doubt the developers would want to add in compatibility just for other mods. Very likely, theyare planningfeatures that will undoubtedly be incompatible with other mods. They had to break compatibility with the Optifine mod just so they can get temperatures in (if I remember correctly), and I don't think they can extend the compatibility very much. I would rather have fun features than mods installed with TFC with less-than-fun features, in my opinion.
  18. Before I begin, welcome back, ECC! I haven't seen you in a while! Now, on to the good stuff. Of course, I would agree that this idea alone would be extremely difficult to maintain, because of the huge randomness factor that really comes along with it. Because ofyourmentioning of the word 'Fear', it made me think that this idea shouldn't be added at all. On the other hand, it does bring up a few good points. The reason why I don't think this should be added because keeping the fear from staling is more of a survival-horror concept than actual survival-survival. You don't know what the heck those things are, why they are chasing you, or why they are even like that. You just don't, you just simply run away from them and hope they won't tear out your guts like they did to those before you. However, because TFC tends to stale after playing from stone to steel so many times, I would say that the randomization factor could be a good idea. TL;DR: Throw out the crazy hallucination suggestion, but keep the tiny randomization factor in, because the developers could try to add a bit of randomization to certain aspects, like climate, day/night cycle, biomes, ocean levels, forest densities, and all of that good stuff. Basically, you could try to randomize the environment quite a bit, while maybe randomizing the mobiles a little bit? -Sda209.
  19. I'm Back!

    Hoorah, welcome back, Srgnoodles!
  20. An Alternate Dimension

There was a whole lot of discussion on new dimensions, two of the most prominent ones were the 'Go to hell' and 'The Wailing' threads. The first one, if memory serves, was focusing on trying to revamp the Nether to be like TFC, while the second one was focused on throwing it away altogether and replacing it with a more darker, Elder-like dimension. Unfortunately, I believe that those suggestions were shot down completely, and yours' is no different. On the other hand, I'm not entirely against the idea of having the Nether in TFC. Maybe we could have it as some sort of massive cavern with extreme volcanic activity, like in vMC, but it has an ungodly amount of vanilla hostiles roaming the place, and put in the ancient ruins Mr. Dunkleosteus had stated in a much earlier time to explain the Nether and the aforementioned hostiles populating the underground world.
  21. Nostalgia

The only way I could see TFC coming back in full force is when we get out of beta. I would say that it would take a few more years, unfortunately.
  22. standalone possible?

There was going to be some sort of backstory involving how the monsters got here, and it doesn't have to do with warlocks or Herobrine.
  23. Plank block change.

    Thanks.
  24. Plank block change.

Hm, interesting. Well, you can follow some of the others' suggestions: me, if I have beencutting too much wood and I don't have the space for it,I would try to find a way to use those planks, like building a wall, as you have stated in an earlier post. Maybe you could craft supports out of it to either expand your mines, or just use it as a decoration in your mining tunnels (make the tunnels feel like a mine). To be honest, this storage issue might be resolved if the more extensive and advanced portions of carpentry wasimplemented so thatto build a house and furniture made of planks, your stores might run out quickly. Or, you canconvert it into wooden shafts so it would serve to be better tool handles for tools and weapons if this was implemented.
  25. One Single Giant Server

I think shelter should be the first thing to find when you start a new world. How are you able to find food and water if you can't survive the elements? I think water should be second, since humans can live on it far longer than food, given enough inactivity, and our bodies are mostly compromise of that compound, and food last when you have a shelter and plenty of shelter. Now, back to the topic at hand. PaoloEmilio, Sadly, while trying to make TFC popular sounds great, this mod is not for everyone. TerraFirmaCraftmakes theaspects of survival much more difficult than what most players of vanilla Minecraft are comfortable with. vMC is for everyone, because it is simple and it is easy. On the other hand, TerraFirmaCraft forces you to find shelter from the harsh elements, find water to keep yourself hydrated and cool, find food to keep your body well-fed with nutrients, find certain rocks, like flint, to make tool and weapon heads out of for cutting wood and shoveling dirt... I think you understand the idea, here. The mod is like Dwarf Fortress, in a sense that is very difficult and hasa steep learning curve. Personally, I think that could be a similar case in TFC, wheresurviving and searching resourcesis difficult and, while easy to learn, hard to master. On a side note, though I have never played on FoxTopia server, it's not bad to play alone. I don't see how it is bad to the community, andit isn't inherently evil. But,neither is cooperation and teamwork. It is just that some people like to be loners (like me, ), and it would be respectable to respect their opinions on surviving alone.
