      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Adventure maps

Bro, I got you covered. I've been using SinglePlayerCommands with a guide on how to install Here. Unfortunately, you cannot used Mods that use Player API at the same time (or any other mods Magic Launcher deems "internal mod" as far as I'm concerned). This means you cannot run NPC mod at the same time you are editing, however, the mods that use Player API don't use many blocks. After editing, you can place NPC's in. Some other mods that can be used would be: Better Storage (has keys and locks), Punt Boats, Inventory Tweaks, Mob Amputation, HUDs, and BiblioCraft. For those Players with HARDCORE in mind Zombie Awarness
  2. Features That May Increase Believability

In TFC, the current system of campfires has the opportunity to advance. With the recent appearance of the Crucible mechanics, barrel machanics, and many others, we can make TFC more believable one step at a time.THIS IS HOW I SEE IT:•Glazed Ceramic Pots: created by firing a ceramic pot with cleaned, ground sand mixed with water. This pot, after firing, would be placed over a campfire, filled with water, and would cook large quantities of food (raw meats should be used instead of cooked meats). The cooking pot should retain its invintory when picked up, be reheat-able, and pour multiple meals into wooded bowls.-THIS WIll FIX/ADD:1. Making +9000 wooden bowls to store large quanties of meals (bowls which are later thrown away)2. Having to heat individual meals one at a time, every time.3. Meal storage in chestsr rather than proper containers.•Small Bulge Crucible: a crucible used in the campfire for capturing liquid metal from smelting in the campfire. Only able to hold 2 ingots of liquid metal, it will allow players mix metals, but at a severely reduced level. It would look nice if it have the Flower pot size.^ Ingots should be able to be broken into pieces (fourths?)^^Ore Smelting: in RL, ore cannot be smelted in a crucible. There is a chemical reaction that occurres (mostly carbon based) that seperates it from the rock. The firepit is acceptable, but the ability to smelt ore in the crucible should be removed.-THIS WIll FIX/ADD:1. metallurgy with ingots rather than needing ore, this will help with ingots before you get the crucible.2. Helps with believability of metal melting in campfire.•Spits & Stoves: Spits would be an easy, believable way of cooking meats over a campfire. Stoves would be advanced way of cooking food (especially Breads) that could be make with hardened clay or stone.-THIS WIll FIX/ADD1. Consolidation of tasks on one apparatus.2. A believable way of cooking food.I have recommended some of this to the Zerren of ExtraFirma, he seems to have code for some of the mechanics necessary for the Glazed Ceramic Cooking Pot so we may see it implemented there (If he chooses).
  3. Gems?

Maybe a Sudo-enchantment System could be used with the gem (if enchantments are ever used) where we place some gems inside tools/weapons/armors to give it an enchant. *Shrugs*
  4. [TFC 0.77.22] Strongcraft (v0.1.4)

maybe you sould place a modifiyer for your Bows so that we can judge the damage we want.
  5. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

-Reluctant, eh? I don't understand how you feel, but I believe that such a feature would show its utility. A feature like that would advance meal making many folds. No more need to craft +9000 wooden bowls to make large quantities of meals. It removes the slow and nonsensical task of heating up individual meals one at a time. It increases the utility of using meals over plain food stuff. Also, if treated like the crucible, it could be carried and store leftover food to be reheated later. In hindsight, I think I may get why you may be reluctant. Maybe it is because it tweaks the flow of an otherwise untouched feature of TFC. Kinda like how adobe tweaked starter building material If you do feel uncomfortable adding it yourself, please do recommend the feature to suggestions.
  6. Scythe work

As to the scythe thing, I believe shears would be the closest implement for that. As to the food thing, I believe you are half right. Right, because the challenge of gathering food is so short lived (usually only lasting till your first metal tool). Wrong, because you are out of prospective for how far food can go if you get 100% yeilds, it never ruins, and you usually only feed yourself. I've heard it said time and again on the suggestions that we should have rotting foods, crop destruction, etc. Maybe these features would work, but still the utility of farming/ranching will always be greater than your need to consume, otherwise humans wouldn't have the time to advance. Food defiantly needs a greater overhaul than just lots of crops and meals, I just hope whatever they do is balanced.
  7. [TFC 0.77.22] Strongcraft (v0.1.4)

I've heard that some use twisting layered metal to form Damascus steel. After 8 or so repetitions of folding and welding, they twist the welded metal, pound it flat, fold & weld it once more, then pound it flat again. It make a very interesting effect.
  8. [TFC 0.78.9] ExtraFirma Addon v1.0.4

I wish there was a Glazed Ceramic Pot that we could place place on the ground to store grain or flower. It could also be place over a campfire, filled with a bucket of water, filled with a amount of food items, heated to a boil and serve multiple portions of meals. Kinda like the Crucible, except with food.
  9. Combat Revamp Opinion Poll

Well, I do not know how long it takes to make Plate armor, but I think that there times are comparable once you have acquired the rescores. You are correct when you say Chainmail wasn't made to deflect Crushing blows from both mace and sword, however, chain mail was intended, especiallyon plate armor, to prevent slashing and piercingstrikes.Well made, riveted, chainmail armor was know to withstand bow drawn arrows and even unriveted chainmailcould block most daggers and sword piercings. On plate mail armor, chain meshes were used to prevent stabbings to thearmpits, neck, and other joints.
  10. Dreams and Farewells

You know, maybe TFC has been to focused on realism to forget that adventure is what attracts us strive for greater. I doubt that a simple dungeon or Mega Boss will fix that issue at all. We need a reason to use better equipment, a reason greater than our fancy. And as far as I'm conserned, only community building (like in DF) or physical constraints have ever enticed me to do better while enjoying it. Combat has been my focus for awhile now (mainly because I believe that it has been the single greatest enjoyable reason to advance) and I've really began to regard this mod as needing to be played in Multiplayer. I cannot stress it more that this mod requires companionship to be enjoyable (in my opinion).
  11. Gems?

I think the irony of this situation may be that they never wanted to make something of gems, that gems are being represented as they truely are to us. Useless colored crystals.
  12. NPC suggestions

  13. Finite liquid?

We used to have finite water here, then they found out how buggy it is
  14. [TFC 0.77.21] SteamAge v0.3.0

Two things to consider about that is that Gregtech has to compete against other Vanilla MC tech mods and that it came when people were too used to the Industrial Craft and Buildcraft efficiency. There is also a difference in audience when it comes to those Tech mods, but I cannot make a statement on that without guessing. I think if you do this mod the way you enjoy Tech mods (with the consideration for TFC standards) there is little were you can go wrong (especially when it is still a novel idea).
  15. Combat Revamp Opinion Poll

I'd Like to add thatMine & Blade has made a comeback (although itseems not to becompatible with TFC) as Mine & Blade Battlegear 2: Warcry. Features like would be abestillustration of Equipment inventory I can come up with. I would Also like to add that Mods like BetterStorage is a great illustration of advanced storage and inventory management. (Better Storage has no official update to 1.6.2, look in the development updates)
  16. Bauxite (Aluminum Ore)

What I was implying was that TFC is only accounting for things known during the stone-age to the 1500s and because of that even if the methods existed, they were not known.
  17. [TFC 0.77.21] SteamAge v0.3.0

It would seem to me this mod would only incite challenge through complexity, the more difficult it is to obtain, the more enjoyable the reward. I hate to say it, but a lot of the tech mods out there do it best, multiple parts and manufactures to create on device and operate it.
  18. Combat Revamp Opinion Poll

Sorry about to Poll, I seems that when editing the post, it removed it, I Will do edits here from now on. Also, please share opinion after voting.
  19. Dreams and Farewells

TFC does indeed lack depth when it comes to late game stuff, but the thing that is missing cannot be cured by TFC alone. This is because it is unable to create some vital challenges due to reasonable barriers both intentional and unintentional. For one thing, TFC in singleplayer is kinda like Vanilla MC in the same mode, you quickly come to lack motivation to continue beyond the Iron Age. Now I've found that Multiplayer (like in VMC) increases that motivation by measurable sums. Yet, rarely do they last to the Black/Steel age. What is missing for me is the challenges that I saw in Dwarf Fortress, enemies that came at an every increasing level as you advanced. With NPC's not a option,Maybethis could be fixed if Mobs having upgraded Armor as you leveled up or a item worth could be initiated so thatthe items stored in chests and your inventorycould be calculated (I would enjoy seeing this). As for a temporary fix, I would advise thosewho have these issues to take up a PvP&PvE RoleplayServer (It will take a mature audience, but I havemade It work on Many occasions). On large RP serverswith sufficient lore, one coulddo raids, trading, andeven politics (Like we all enjoy that...). Another thing that is missing is somesimple emersioneffects like (as was statedin this thread) Body Temperature andHostilewild animals. In all, in order to make challenges onLate TFC, I've found thatI resort tomaking challenges for myself through Roleplaying and Mods alike. But, in good faith to the TFC creators, I'll donate to the future of this mod. For those who are interested in Vamping Up the Difficulty or add quality, I have a few mods That I use all the time Here: Zombie Awareness - Gives Mobs Extreme sensitivity to your presence, Get Hit or Breaks block and they will come, Leave torches outside and they will swarm.Better Storage - Lock picking, Locked Chest,Realistic Backpacks, and General Storage upgrades. Allows players better mobility without compromising too much. (Need Custom NPC's edits to create locked Chests, Recommend 4xSheet {metal}, 4xLeather, 1 Chest for Reinforced Chest. Recommend bronze to 3xMC Gold recipe and Wrought iron/Steel to 3xMC Iron.)NB. You need to Look in the Development builds for Better Storage Mod, He is skipping 1.6 so all there will be isdevs till 1.7.Last Recommendationcomment is needed to in the creation of Keys and Locks, and balances out issues.I hope someone makes a fix for this mod SOON PLZ! More Player Models - Allows for players be interactive with their player models. Great for Roleplay.
  20. Suggestion/Discussion: Basic Chemistry & Applications

In the latter part of the TFC era (1400-1500s) Acids were used to engrave into metal plates for the Printing Press.
  21. Bauxite (Aluminum Ore)

It is not the method that matters, even if it is possible, it wasn't discovered till past 1500s. Plus, those batteries don't create enough heat to matter. What you got to understand is that all the Aluminum baring ore is chemically composed that our standard ways are ineffective. During this time period, we use a chemical reaction which involves Heat and CO to seperate the ore from the rock, otherwise we would only get molten rock when we smelt ore. However, with Aluminum you must perform electrolysis with the molten aluminum ore rock, separating the ore from the stone. The other way is too expensive to consider.
  22. Coal, Peat, and Turf: The beginning of Pit-Coke

I was thinking of a placable block which could be loaded would be loaded with 32 to 64 coal and 8 to 16 peat three times (unless they change the GUI to have two slots), kinda like a log-pile. That would be stacked like in a charcoal pit and cooked. There would be a greater than 50% loss of output but the coke would be usable in smelting and put out more heat.
  23. Coke derived from coal, peat, and a turf covering is its first recorded way of creating coke. It functions similarly to the charcoal pit but cokes' higher carbon content and low impurity helps enhance the chemical reaction which happens in the steel making process. Coke was used to help create larger blast furnaces which charcoal could not manage, and burn hotter and brighter than charcoal. I believe that coke would be a great addition to later game manufactory and although it enters the fringe of the TFC, especially since advancements in coke making (Beehive oven) did not occur till the 1700s, the earliest process (pit-coke) is a more plausible.
  24. [TFC 0.77.21] Terrabow Mod (v0.7.1) (Deprecated)

Say Hurray to the man of the Year!!!
  25. Gems?

I wish there was a Crown item that I could right click and set gems into
