      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Yeah, something like Charcoal pit, maybe even a Block that contains 3 Slots for Peat and 1 slot for Coal.

    Like Bioxx, I believe that we cannot treat this like real life. With the features so far, we are able to address many of the challenges we encounter in PvE and PvP. However, while we are not lacking much in principle, there are things that should exist that would make combat more immersive. To list a few: shields, armor weight, More projectiles weapons, Chain mail armor, War animals.Someof which have been said in this Thread and in the Suggestion page. But here is how I see it: [*]Shields: From personal experience with using the Asgard Shields mod I've found that its useagainst projectiles were well founded, but its use in close courters combat is situational. For example: If Cornered- It could be used to push back your opponent, like a shield bash. If Jumped- it willallowyou to standyour ground without breaking the flow of combat. [*]Armor Weight: If used in combination with shields, it couldfixe many gaps in the flow of combat.Fromwhat I've seenofthis modwhich issimilar to TFC (But more combat oriented), Mine Fantasy it createsa system of armor weight that may be appropriate for us. This would allow for more variety to a players choice of arsenal, may it be the light armor with ranged weapons choice, or heavy armorwith melee weapons choice. However, like it was said by p122in this Thread: This Issue can be resolve through choices by Player A: If shields exist, he can use it to reduce the oncoming damage of his opponent as he advances and/or hope Player B advances into his range or Stops his barrage. if War animals exist, He could use it to attack player B or expose him and/or If it is a Horse (An Armored Horse would be Ideal), use it to outrun his opponent. He himself could attempt to shot his opponent dead while letting his armor take the damage. fast shooting, Preloaded weapons like a Crossbow would suit this need well. [*]More Projectile Weapons: Even though the current features of Ranged attack are sufficient to deal moderate damage, There is lack of GOOD disposable ranged firepower in TFC. The regular bow, although its arrows are disposable, lacks power and the Javelins, although powerful, lack disposability. Iimagine this is intentional, yet this also hinders advanced combat and makes ranged weapons only second rate and used for inflicting slight damage and not to kill. This sort of feature was done well by our own home-grown mods ExtraFirmaand the now abandoned Terra Bow Mod. These sort of feature would grant players an edge in combat even if they lack strong armor, In addition, If added with my past mentioned features, It would link well together and make combat a little more strategized. Chainmail Armor: This is more or less a feature that would suit well with Armor Weights, it would create and intermediate class of warrior that could afford to do both melee and ranged attack. The armor would varyagainst piercing and bebetter suited to deflect slashing than Crushing blows yet I believe it would receive a warm welcome from the TFC audience. War Animals: This, for the most part, focuses on Horse. I have shared this opinion already in the Suggestion page and Dunkleosteus Stated: So I understand the circumstances of this feature a little better than the others. Yet I will state again, here, that I believe Horses clade in armor would enhance the combat structure of TFC with or without the addition of Armor Weights. It wouldgrant greater mobility to player. In addition, like it was simply put in the Thread, I believe a Critical hit should be granted to horse bound players. On the other-hand,we currentlypossess Wolves, which if modified correctly, could become a better companionwhen attacking players. However,because of current changes they can no longer breed. This is sad and I fear that this may kill part of this idea, but I will let the admins correct me.As to features like Skills and Magic, I believe we have to approachit cautiously. Too much focus on skills and the mod becomes like that MMORPG server pluggin. Too much focus on Magic and this mod becomes like Ars Magica or Thaumcraft (Not to say that there is anything wrong with the mods, Its just not my cup of tea). This doesn't mean that skills don't have a place, hell the EXP to Health systemis a great feature, but is it necessary to have many moremodifiers. As to magic,I do not knowwere to go with it, I just hopeif itever exists, it is purely additive. To me, this seems more of a Compilation than original idea, but then again, that is what this Thread needs. A little organization.

    Date based events would be a great addition to spice things up in the world. Because the date is divided in such a way a Calendar is, some years, months, days, or hours could be divoted to !fun! and challaging wastes of good Armor: For example: Day of the Dead- a day and night of fire proof Zombies who spawn in in both sunlight and darkness New moon- all monsters are given strength and speed. Blizzard: added Temperature drops in all biomes during, plus rain/snow for that week Heat wave: added Temperature increases in all biome during, causes grass to become dry grass in proper conditions. Ice Age: Year of Winter Drought: Year of heat, maybe increased water consumption, decreased spawn rate of animals and slower grass growth I'll think of more in time Thanks for reading!

    Turf refers to soil cover, the same way that it is use in a charcoal pit. You would cover the mixture of coal and peat with the turf and let it cook till the peat cooks off leaving behind the coke chunks.

    Put simply, fix Vanilla horses health, and add armor using TFC metals. Maybe make attacking on horse do extra or Critical damage especially with javelins.

    Consider the Following: 1) Steam Hammer: a device that can quickly Flatten heatedingotsand shape toolsquicker (automatically). Has potential to craft more advancedmachine partsbypunchingout shapes with metal dies (IE metal disc for saw mill). 2) Steam Engine: replacement for unimplemented vanilla piston, but powered with STEAM. OR engine that drives a "line shaft". 3) Water Pumps: Steam powered water pump that siphons water toBarrel or other storage container. 4) Saw Mill: a device that uses a metal saw disc powered by steam turbine or line shaftto create more planks per log.

    Lead pipes wouldn't be able to stand the heat or pressure and would only be good for sending untreated water, Copper pipes and up on the other hand would be more sensible for Steam. I believe lead pipes would have there place in things like Water Pumps.

    Ever since the new armor update, I have wondered about how to enhance the effectiveness of armor while enhancing the usefulness of other items and incentivizingsome lesser used manufacturing. For example, leather armor, which ever sincethe leatherupdate,has surely dwindled tolittle use due toleathers' usefulness inthe manufacturing things such asBellows. This accompanied with the loss of tier 0 Metal armor hasonly shrunkthe options available to players when It should be ever increasing. Therefore, I came up with the ideathatthere should be amanufactory process for making Chainmail armor to fill the void for theloss of armor and the lack ofCrushingDamage resistant armorand a additional feature that would helpincentivize both the use of leather armor and this new chainmail armor. This is the Idea, to make a GUI that would allow the player to combine the armors and strengthen either the resistance stats or the durability (or Both). However the main ideacan be divided into 2 parts Part 1: Plate Armor and Chainmail Armor will have 2 slots and 1 slot respectively. In Plate Armor, the gui would appear to have a slot to insert the Chainmail armor of choice, the other Leather Armor, with Chainmail only having the Leather Armor Slot. Part or whole values of resistance or durabilitywould be added to the outer most armor(eitherPlate or Chainmail Armor).I would prefer to see theintegrated armor visually appear different when worn, but that may be asking too much. Part 2: Integrated armor could consume the addons uponbreakingor expose the armornext in the cue.The Item next in cue (Chainmail in the case of Plate armor) will absorb the Leather armor last in cue. The Addons may or may not receive fractional durability damage upon hit. I hope you consider part if not wholly whatI'm saying here andThank You for taking the time to read this.
  12. Armor Error [V77.11]

    Recently, while playing with some Friends on our server, I noticed how damage dampening on the armor was not happening. After many frustrating tests, I decided that I would try a clean client with no mods besides TFC. I tested in single player with Zombies, comparing naked skin to Black Steel and found that the damage I received what not only the same, but sometimes worse then Naked skin. I then tested on a clean server and found similar results while testing with copper swords/maces/javelins, I shall (re)state: I used the installation instructions provided for a Windows userin the Downloads section. I used no other mods than TFC 77.11. I tested on both client and server. I used the forge installer with the same version recommended for current TFC.

  19. Handstone Glitch & Others

    The handstone can be instantly repaired if done in this way: 1) Craft 2 handstones 2) Bring one of the handstones to Zero durability 3) Shift-Click the damaged handstone from the quern to your inventory 4) Congrats, You have two, full durability handstones This can be reproduced easier by editing the damage value to 250 (the quern had 251 durability) with any inventory editor, then damage it once in the quern in game. Other seeming glitches: 1) Cabbage seems to not reach harvest. I cannot prove, but I have had it growing from Spring to Autumn. 2) Animals seem to become glitchy in the intermediate stage of growth. 3) Chisel edited blocks are not accepted when placed over a firepit or forge.
