      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. My Build 77 Wishlist

    For me it is absolutely NOT believable that you can feed your animals only with wheat grain. I grew up on a farm where my grandfather used to have all kinds of animals, and i remember him chasing them because they were eating all the cabbages or green beans. They also loved maize, carrots or apples. Even onions were not safe. So implementing animal food to be more believable would make sense and add much to the fun factor, imho.
  2. Quick and easy change.

    Using a knife to harvest sugarcane would make more sense. Then crushing it to get the juice and bagasse. The juice would then be purified, boiled and evaporated to get the sugar. Bagasse would be used in a forge or a firepit as fuel and for making paper. Vanilla sugar and paper are just far too boring simple, imho

  4. TFC new feature mod contest

    It is one thing to make a standalone mod, and a totally different thing to use that same code and implement it into TFC. You will almost always have to recode the idea of that mod from scratch. TFC code is organized in its own way. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it would almost always be harder to reuse someones source code then just write it from ground up....maybe some code snippets could be reused, but that's kind of a big maybe. And besides, dunk and bioxx already expressed no need for extra developers. But i guess these mini-mods, if i can call them that, could be used to have fun testing the playability of different ideas and things that are not so easy to explain with words. And as i understand it, these mods have to follow a few rules. - No altering of TFC source code in any way. - No rewriting or blocking of any TFC features or Recipes. - ... did i forget something?

    Memory: 39486016 bytes (37 MB) / 128843776 bytes (122 MB) up to 259522560 bytes (247 MB) ---- The memory is too low. Use the Start.bat file that you can find in the Launcher zip.

    Time is precious for everyone, as is for you too. You do not need to spend you're time on searching for bugs or helping the devs in any way to make b76 release more stable and bug free. Instead you can enjoy b75 or have fun with any other mod that you haven't yet tried out until b76 is (almost) bug free The devs are doing a great job. Development takes time and a LOT of work. There time is also precious, and they are investing that time in us. Developing a product so we can have fun and enjoy it together. Be patient and enjoy the chaos of development and bug killing

    OK, i just couldn't help myself. Here is a very basic mod version where you can chop wood with an axe and get 3 planks. The axe will not get damage at the moment. There is a small bug that i still have to locate, but i'm too tired right now...need sleep....i will try to find it in the next few days. This is how the chopping station has to be made This is where you can place the block for chopping And this is how it looks like when your almost finished Download => 1.5.1_ChopALog_0.2.b76.zip edit: If you are not getting 3 planks, re-download the mod. It's fixed now edid2: Punching with bare hand caused a crash. Fixed now.

  19. You use a knife on the sheep hide to get the wool, right? Why not on the living sheep? The sheep would need intense therapy afterwards, but it gets to live To make it more balanced, you would only get a wool scrap. And to make one wool, you would need 9 wool scraps.
  20. Memory Leaks

    I tested this with allocating 1024MB in SSP. Opened my system monitor and started the game. Then in game i did nothing. I was just standing idle in my hut. There were a few sheep, chicken and cows around. 3 fruit trees and 5 barrels were also near my hut. A few barrels were sealed. On my system monitor the memory went slowly, but constantly, to 8GB. The lag starts when the swapping begins. I was also looking at memory usage with F3 Used memory was cycling between ~30% and ~55%. Allocated memory was at 100% after a few seconds and was also rising very slowly after every Used memory reset. My computer physical memory was growing around 100MB every minute or so. But started growing faster at night after monsters spawned. I also tested this with Optifine. Same thing except the CPU usage was smaller. That's probably because i set it to 40fps max. I also tested this in my development environment with the same world and can confirm the same effect. Then i went far enough so that the chunk where my hut was, gets unloaded. The memory leak stopped! Even at night time with all the monsters spawning had no negative effects. We can rule out animals because at the new spot, they were also there. So that leaves barrels, fruit trees, a forge, food table, stone anvil, fire pit, planted oak/fir/willow saplings and i also had a small garden with a few veggies growing. I can give a full list if needed. That would be about all that is in, and around, the hut. Also good to know is the leaked memory only gets freed after a client restart. Exiting and reentering the world is not enough. I hope this helps

    It's the mentioned memory leak. I have to restart every ~15min also. The lag start when there is no more RAM left and the swapping starts. HDs are so sloooooow

    Is the metal in the mold still liquid? I can't reproduce what you're describing. Maybe you can post a screenshot.

    Hotfix 9 - I can confirm the memory leak. It eats up all of my 8GB RAM - Double clicking on the knapping GUI knaps all fields away. - Drinking water with a glass bottle will fill your water bar to infinite value. The water level gets reset when you jump into water. - Instant cooking with a forge Put 1 [Char]coal in the forgeStart the firePut 1 Clay Mold(or anything else that is cookable) and wait until it's doneThen right or left click it with another uncooked Clay Mold (it must be only 1 for this to work)Doing it like this, you replace the uncooked mold with the cooked one, and the uncooked one will also be instantly cooked.This only works with an item that is cold and has no temp value. That's it for now...now back to playing
