ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Every quill needs ink...so you need one more blank square for the ink on the Scribing table.
Hm...now, do we need a bottle for the ink, or do we just use raw squid sack?
(don't chop my head off) ....we could also make ink from flowers.

Oh..the dust is clear...i'm just thinking about playability and believability. That clears up the dust for you?
Hitting a very hot metal on a stone anvil in some unknown pattern and getting a usable tool out of it...hmm....i guess it could work
We'll have to wait and see what Bioxx thinks about it.

Are you trying to kill the Scribing Table?.... the forging mechanic could be changed to make it possible to craft tools without a plan ....
I kind of like the Scribing Table
The only way i can see a crude tool being made is by making a negative clay form of a saw, smelting ore into this clay form using a fire pit, and sharpening it on a stone anvil using a hammer while it's still hot.
The durability would have to be very low....which could, maybe, be made higher by warming and water cooling the tool....but still very low..

But we already have a good system of making metal tools.EDIT: And this also applies to every metallic tool.
There has to be another way to solve the chicken&egg problem.

I also had no problems with finding clay.
And besides, long searching is also a part of the TFC experience... is it not?
Thats my point. You need a Scribing Table to make a plan......and make an ingot. Now, craft a saw plan, .....

And how did you get the saw?
edit: I like the idea of clay being used more (clay GUI would be interesting) and the crafting table using tools.

Well, i had something similar when i forgot to put TFC file in mods folder and tried to play with a already TFC generated world...all kind of strange shit happened.
And today, when i was confirming the B74 server install, i first generated a world without TFC...then copied TFC to mods folder after the world was generated,
now i have a cool jungle-sunken-box-like spawn area .. if anyone wants to see it i can post a link.

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-145146-smp-chickenbones-mods/
From there you need
- CodeChickenCore v0.7.0.2 for [1.4.6] --> Download
and
- NEI --> Download
Then place both into .minecraftcoremods folder.
And that would be that

I did not know that forge has an official mirror?
And i also found this on his site 1.4.5.jars.zip ... i think that could be a copyright no-no thing ...
I don't know about you...and maybe i'm paranoid (part of my job as security admin) ... but i don't trust anything that isn't official
...but that's just me...
Be careful, stay safe.

...do i hear an echo ?!?...

...... As far as I know it is required for this mod, ....
NEI is optional ... What is required though is PlayerAPI v1.1 for MC 1.4.6

I don't know how much it would help with growing plants...but it would look cool...if it's even possible with the lighting system in minecraft.
Q. Am i allowed to link stuff like this?
1 -
How about
- Smelt sand --> get glass block
- Tan glass block with needed color (like wool)
- Stick a torch in glass block (like pumpkin) ... or 2 torches to make the light stronger
- Use for any purpose needed (growing plants, house lighting, etc.)
....in the background i hear the programmers scream...
1 -
And when you find a stone that will work as an anvil (right-click with hammer), destroy all blocks around it, so the one you want to take home with you is not touching any other block... that way it will drop as a block that you can pickup.

I've just started to surf the minecraft/forge source code, and trying to achieve what you are proposing would need a rewrite of the whole block damage control in minecraft.
Please correct me if i'm wrong, but blocks do not have a damage level state. You can't set a block to, lets say, 80% damaged.

I have a question about Localization.
How would that work on TFC wiki?
If you change the language (top right corner) only the wiki itself changes to that language, but the page itself stays in English, which is to be expected because the page was written in English. With the wiki language change, all the wiki/page links stay the same pointing to the English pages.
How would i then translate a page to ... lets say German? Would we need a second "German" wiki?
And yes, i could start translating it to German...but i cant promise to be very fast... playing TFC, job & RL stuff etc.
I could also maintain the wiki ... keep it up-to-date.

Well if the bug is fixed then my suggestion is irrelevant.
I'm glad the bug is fixed

Where did you download it from?
I always use http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/482147-146-dec22-reis-minimap-v32-06/
Had no problems...

With all the bloomery problems, i'd like to make a suggestion that could solve this problem, and maybe add a new feature.
When the bloomery runs out of fuel, it outputs the leftover ore in form of nuggets or chunks, depending on the quantity.
There are 2 outputs for the ore like Tetrahedrite.
It could look something like this:

It's all about the right recipe.
If you put more charcoal, it will burn slower and smoke more.
With less charcoal, it burns faster.
And if it burns fast enough, it will explode....kind off

dynamite howto:
- with glass make a few flasks
- go to potion table
- mix up a few potions using a few different precipices and finally get nitroglycerin
- take limestone from inventory and smash it with hammer to get Diatomaceous earth
- gather all the stuff you need for Solvay Process
- use potion table to mix up some sodium carbonate
- combine paper, diatomaceous earth and a bit of sodium carbonate to get Dynamite sticks
oh..wait..i dont have diatomaceous earth and i'm out of limestone....i'll just make some sawdust, that will be good enough.
Ok, now to get to my mine. Its getting dark, i'll have to hury.
jump one block down...jump two blocks down...jump 3 blocks BOOM!!
DAMN...where did that creeper come from......oh, wait...that was ME
I new i shouldn't have used sawdust :-/
------------------------------------------------
hmm...it would be complicated to do, but it looks doable in TFC...and fun
and yes, it has nothing to do with black powder.

I'm trying to learn some Spanish (hobby wise...nothing intense), and am having a very hard time understanding prepositions.
I speak 3 languages, and none of them are like Spanish.
Maybe that's why its so interesting to me

So you need a quill and paper to activate the Scribing Table....the rest stays the same as it is now.
That's cool ... adding stuff without really removing anything.
That would be more work to implement, but is more believable then it is now...i like it
