      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  3. Setting up our own decay rate.

    I was hoping someone would answer some questions I had in regards to configuring decay. "food decay" { # This is a global multiplier for food decay. Unlike FoodDecayRate which only modifies the base decay and not the environmental effect upon decay, this multiplier will multiply against the entire amount. Set to 0 to turn decay off. D:FoodDecayMultiplier=1.0 # This number causes base decay to equal 50% gain per day. If you wish to change, I recommend you look up a y-root calculator 1.0170378966055869517978300569768^24 = 1.5 D:FoodDecayRate=1.01703789660558695 # If a food item has not been ticked for >= this number of days than when it is ticked for the first time, only a small amount of decay will occur. I:decayProtectionDays=24 # Set this to false if you want food to auto decay when a chunk is loaded instead of limiting decay when a chunk has been unloaded for a long period. B:useDecayProtection=true What is the global decay multiplier exactly? How does it effect different types of food, and play with the decay rate? I don't quite understand the explanation of the decay rate. Causes to equal 50% gain per day. What does it multiply with to start the gain in the first place? Not 1 As a test. I tried to set up a rate to have the food generally reach 50% decay after 72 days. Which is 1728 MC hours. So I did x^1728=1.5 So X equals 1.000234672. So1.000234672^1728=1.5 But when I add 1728000 to time, it decays the food entirely. I have no idea what the rate is going up against...whats being multiplied by 1.000234672 every minecraft hour? How could I go about to set up a time frame to reach a general approximate amount of decay? "Set this to false if you want food to auto decay when a chunk is loaded instead of limiting decay when a chunk has been unloaded for a long period." Does decay act differently when a chunk is loaded or unloaded? Food seems to decay when chunks are loaded by default...I don't understand.

    I have not posted this, but I had noticed that you can't shift R click on Acacia barrels to add more water. They work on all the other ones. Hope this helps.

  6. If your looking for ground ore to make starting tools, you may have to travel very far. As for now, most metals can now be found on the surface. So surface ores are mostly there to indicate ores in the top layers. You might want give a gold pan a try to get some native copper nugs.

    Is there a way to make the crops grow faster if the year length is longer?
  8. Good to see you got it working. Yes you get one home, and one town spawn. This server can start to build up some players as long as there is at least 1 person online, throughout the day. Players like to feel the world be alive I think. But there are many recurring players.

  11. I would just like to point out that you can still craft acacia planks from acacia plank blocks, without a saw.
  12. I made some big changes to the server yesterday. Its now running under MCPC+. Starting off, /spawn works, and the world spawn point is in the spawn area. Second, the server now has more anti grief tools, including lockette which players have the option to use. There is no need for lockette if players are assigned there own plots in a town, but its there if you have a need. And last, next time there is an update, I have the ability to use world boarder. It will make it easier to re load the chunks if the world gets corrupted in one of the updates. It also means that the server will eventually have a large pre generated map. I'm thinking of adding one more plugin. It's called inventory drop chance. Upon death, you drop only a set percentage of your inventory at random. I would like to set it around 80-90%.
  13. Server is down at the moment. I updated to 78.16 and it the server started to lag. The console was saying player moved to fast. I was experiencing a major delay breaking blocks, and there seemed to be chunk issues. I deleted tfc config files with no help. I'm not able to work on it right now, until I come home again. Sorry for the inconvenience ---edit---------------- Everything is back up, running on 78.16

I usually take no more then a day to update TFC. __________________ If you look at my updates section, you can see that I added new quest, and an area with hard mobs for it. With these mobs and quest, it will make it a bit easier to obtain the ender dragon flying mount. Which is extremely difficult to get by gathering ender pearls. Now if you group up, you have access to a weekly quest, and more mob drops to help with black orbs. I always repeat, that your suggestions are appreciated here. Gringaldude or I can add NPC's to your towns. And you can create factions npcs in your town if you would like.

    We now have small, poor, normal and rich ores that have units of 10,15,25, and 35. I was testing out a panning, which I have never used before, and it occurred to me that only needing 10 small ore to make a tool seemed like a low amount. It would be really cool if you could change that with the TFC options. If a small ore was 1 unit, it would generate 64 units in a vessel. Forcing you to make a forge to completely fill a mold. Your first mold. I think that's kinda neat. Being able to configure options like this would make cooperation among players and ingots more valuable. I guess it would also be a good idea to be able to pan more then 50 times at a chunk. This is relevant to sluices as well. What do you all think? I think this would be AWSOME!

    Why the need to separate form different levels? I say keep the "settings" flat across, simple that way. Imagine just a list in a the config with = signs where you can fill in the value. Pans only work 50 times per chunk. You can't craft sluices right now, they're doing some work on them.

  19. Updated to 78.14. As always post suggestions here. I am adding dungeon like area in a cave, with mobs, and bosses. They will be part of dailies, so you have more ways to obtain orbs. The mobs will be difficult and will require a group. As soon as I'm finished, I will post here.
  20. Alternative method to make limewater.

    If you toss flux in a bucket a water, and toss the limewater in a barrel...why can't you toss flux in a barrel of water, seal it, and get a barrel of limewater?

  22. I was playing with 78.12's config settings for the decay. When I change the multiplier, and add time with counsel commands, the toolip doesn't go above 0% and starts blinking. Anyone else experiencing this?
  23. 0.1 and 0.5, never tried anything above 1.
