      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Ive used custom npcs a few times with TFC. At one point I did have an issue where if a monster would deal damage to the npcs it corrupted the world. But this was over a year ago and since then I have used them again and they seemed to work fine now.

  2. Yea i was going to update this after I finished building the shop at spawn which should be soon(might finish that today). Just broken right hand makes it hard to do things on the pc lol.

    For those wondering. I removed a lot of the mods to give it more of a TFC default feel. No longer have traincraft. Still have custom NPCs for the Diablo 1 type dungeon story line i'm adding. Yes it will be under the town at spawn.

  3. 1 no border unless you are on a server who has a border set up. some times the oceans are just really big in TFC

    3 there are a few mods for 1.7.10 that can help with this. how ever you will need to make them compatible with TFC most likely using minetweaker to create custom recipes. (archimedes ships, star gates, train craft, just a few examples that could work)

Its kind of mixed during the day/night and it might seem almost empty because of the low server population still. we have about 8 active players or so. A few that are not to active.  But servers only been up for about a week now.  Cant tell you what time people get on really. Looked at the stats and yesterday someone was online at some point pretty much other than for 4 1 hour periods which were randomly spread threw out the day.

  6. Greetings again. I have decided to bring back the Waterhollow server and mod pack I made about a year ago. The server will be public until we have issues with trolls then I will add a whitelist to it if needed. 

    Server Rules

    1. Ages 17+ and must have a mic
    2. No Killing on sight or Random Death Match. This is a role play server PVP is enabled but you must have a reason to attack/kill someone. Yelling "I'm going to kill you" before you attack someone is acceptable. As long as you give some type of warning before you attack you should be fine.
    3. No revenge killing or spam killing. Meaning do not go after someone who just killed you or do no keep killing the same person over and over.
    4. No Griefing/Raiding. Griefing will never be allowed. You are not to kill animals. How ever you can kill someone and steal their inventory,  but you must still initiate combat. If the stuff is not on claim it is considered abandon and you may destroy / steal from these buildings only.
    5. If your character dies your character forgets what happen for the pass 10 minutes.
    6. No breaking/stealing train tracks.
    7. Do not break the twitch ToS. This is to protect the server's streamers including myself. Basic stuff no hate speech racism etc.
    8. Do not install any extra mods that are not in the mod pack. You may install journey map and fastcraft to your client side if needed.
    9. In game chat is to be use as a  out of character talk try not to use it much. Use the in game voice chat to RP with people around you. Voice chat has a 64 block range.

  7. Well it was a good run while it lasted. Server will be closing in the next few days, due to being busy with my personal project(zombie 2d ORPG). And other owner is busy with his personal life.

     

    The mod pack will still be up for download how ever you will need to set up the recipes for the items using the recipe maker yourself. those are saved on the server and never got uploaded to the mod pack.

  8. Well before you end up spending your money go do some testing to make sure the no pvp flag will work with TFC. I know a lot of pvp flags do not work with it or at least It's not working for me. I've tried using a few different system to prevent pvp in areas and have not had any of them working.

    Whether you lose your inventory or not isn't a main issue in a pvp server, in my opinion. It's a risk we should accept.

    I think that a huge faction based pvp, where people join a nation to fight their rivals to control ressources is way more interesting for TFC...

    It would be so interesting to have three to five people in factions that are grouped in nations, with towns/villages that have to work together to protect their lands, and having to plan who should raid their rivals, steal their precious ores, or conquer new towns, or even forcing some nations to change to become neutral, or take a side in a conflict... Build forts, diplomacy, espionnage...

    I have already used towny plugin, and I can tell it is quite possible to do such things with it. I have never seen it used for pvp purposes in vanilla Minecraft, but I think it is due to the even repartition of ressources, unlike TFC.

    Well, I do know this sounds idealistic. Loosing your armor when you're killed is still a problem, as you have to get a new one, and you may give lots of ressources to your enemies. And same about other ressources and tools. I think creating a plugin making the lost of equipment when dead random. And you may never see huge battles with keepInventory, as people would just come back fully geared again and again.

    An other problem would be the size of the map. It should be adapted to the number of players. You don't want it too big, or you may never see any conflict happening.

    And finally, the number of interested players can be an issue too, knowing that people who wouldn't want to fight can still make food, mine...

     

    Only problem with that is the same thing will happen like on the first waterhollow world. 1 group will become super powerfull and stop everyone else from reaching iron age. Burning down homes and killing any noobs and stealing stuff making it nearly impossible to go against them so people just rage quit.

  10. We have pvp on waterhollow. Just with protection from base raids etc. Also have keep inventory on so its just sends them back to their spawn point. Unless you are off in the seas on a ship(ships mod) then they could steal your ship after killing everyone on board. So more based around sea pirate style raiding I guess you could say.

    It really seems to work well this way. No one gets to angry when pvp does happen since you really dont lose anything other than some time running back to where you were.
