      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. A mod that adds different sorts of (real - so TFC don't have any 'copyright' for using real stone-types) stone.

It don't even add new types of ore - so I don't see a reason for call it a 'copy'.

It copy an idea. I saw the mod and automatically remember me TFC.

  2. My idea is use the loose Rocks as a weapon (also its other uses). You could throw the rock holding right click and release it.

The loose rock could not use as a cobble block when put it and when mine stone, the texture of cobble return to the old style.

  3. What about cities that doesn't want taxes? Are taxes optional or required for a city to be a "legitimate" city? I would like as many options as possible in this new addition, and I am positive towards NPC cities, as long as they don't grow too big.

Perhaps NPC cities should have a cap in how much they can grow? That way, they are attractive in early game and can be subjugated in later game, in later game only other player-built or owned cities can rival player-built or owned cities? Although that's quite a longshot considering the amount of people needed for such grand scales. I digress.

Firstly, I think focus should be on cities founded by players. NPC-cities can come later, imo.

Each city has it own laws. These laws include or not the taxes.

I suppose that the cities grow depending of population. A city <50 npc is smaller than another >100 npc. The city ratio increase depending of population but, all in this life has a limit :P

I think that npc city could attack to other city if relationship down very much. The npcs occupy the player place. In single player is only one player, then npc occupy the player places, but in a server you could choose if your city will or will not npcs.

  4. I think this system is too strict.

First of all, it depends on finding already established NPC cities, instead of allowing people to found their own. Secondly, it enforces taxes and offers no model of a city without it.

This system could offer that the player build his own city or buy a NPC city. If the player chose live on NPC city, he need pay the city tax, but if the player found a city, he could add his laws and tax.

An city (player or NPC), may attack, trade or ally with others NPC/player cities. Even, if a city has low tax or better goods that others, the NPC population increase in this city. NPC population could defend, attack, trade, build a house, marry…

  5. @psychotimo: Maybe not forgot another skill (when you skill list is full), but improve only X levels of skills can be a solution. For example: You could levelup 10 levels of Mining or 5 levels of Mining and 5 levels of Speed or 2+2+2+2+2……

And is interesting add infinite RPG levels to levelup more skills and add a system of animal/monster level by biome/layer, first layers increase the level of mobs and the biome could multiply this levels. And Nether/End, multiply to much these levels.

  6. Create a NPC system of cities (including INN, Shops of weapons, tools, raw ores, Restaurants), and this cities can be bought by a player to own this city (only accept one buy), or include his as citizen.

This system create life in SSP and SMP (and can be choose into world creation options).

Some cities can be underground with a entrance in upper ground. This feature add underground forest and animal to ecosystem.

Into the cities, the citizen can register into NPC guild (SSP), or NPC/players guild(SMP). Into the guild, the player can level up skills and learn other guild only skills. Each guild has unique skills, then the player must travel around the world to learn new skills. For example: Only in the Fish City, you can learn Fisher skill to improve this ability. If the player do not learn this skill, only can fish a bottle or sticks. But each player can only learn a limited number of skills, if the player want to learn a new skill, he has to forget other skill.

If any player has a house in a city, he has to pay monthly the tax, but instead he receives goods. In NPC city the player can not change the list of goods but if the player buy a city, he can change these monthly goods.

This system can be used into SSP and SMP.
