      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Herbs and various effects (realistic herbs)

So this stems from another topic a while back which only really mentions poisons and I like poisons but there are more herbs to be found. So, I'llbreakdown theirand their "environment" feel free add a few don't make mine the ultimate list of what could be added. Pokeberry weed = this could be used as an alternative source of ink Curare = a vine found in tropical environments, used as a poison, useful with mobs that run from you, killing things at long ranges faster. Also a paralytic, it causes mobs to stop attacking or moving. Basil = improve growth/drops for certaincrops (like tomatoes and peppers), if planted near those plants. Reasoning, they are used in gardens to draw away pests. Nasturtium = short life span, withers and dies easy, but used a lot like basil (pretty blooms). Used for healing salves for those who want to use TFC without health regen. Otherwise, you'll heal quicker for a bit.
  2. Butchering

You do know that Elderscrolls Skyrim, cheese is just food and cant be used for potions at all. And, that's plain unmodded vanilla Skyrim. Food spoilage would also make this way more balanced. I like this idea.
  3. Spinning Wheel "Advanced Pottery"

Ok sorry for the wasted post.
  4. Spinning Wheel "Advanced Pottery"

Ok so I can't think of much to do with this, other than it could be an aesthetic thing. This wheel would be used to create some possible alternative storing apparatuses like urns and such. Also you could make big pots and such to hold water, again more aesthetic, or could be a handy way to keep water deep inside a mine or something. I was think it could work like knapping where you shape the items you want. It has nothing to do with other clay items like the clay mold. I was thinking this could be use to make Clay Urn (similar to chest), Clay urn lid (completes the clay urn), Clay Jug (like bucket), Clay Pot (planting certain plants like flowers and certain vegetables "craft after with soil", or just use as a water reservoir"), Clay Bowl (Alternative to Wooden Bowl for meals).
  5. Arrow Heads: Stone and Beyond

Yea arrowheads should have a their own cast and you could make like a "arrowhead mold" and it fills with metal like a regular mold (maybe quicker because it takes less to make arrowheads) and when you shape the "ingot" it gives like 4 arrowheads, then you just craft them like you would stone or flint.
  6. It looks nice, I've made cheaper, and smaller. I usually build a house on the first day... well a shack. As long as it has wall on all sides and he adds a perimeter fence it should very, very safe. With the closest threat a spider .
  7. Another Idea... Aesthetic Cave Crystals

Ok... so I got this idea while trying to figure what Rook wanted with this thread. Crystal Caverns!!! And yes, they do exist... for any of you who have watched the Blue Planet series on Discovery you'll know what I mean. here's what I mean... Ok so that's extreme... lol. The crystals are small in the cave. It has been done before in Thaumcraft... with Vis/Taint cristals... all you have to do is re-texture those crystals to whites/greys/yellows/may be even purples now and again... that don't glow or give light.. Make them a special spawn that isn't common and doesn't happen till deeper in minecraft. And if you mine them you get rocksalt (stone) or quartsite (stone). I think the crystals in this cave are gypsum anyways. here are the thaumcraft crystals... now picture that in the grey/white color scheme... it would look very cool.
  8. Colonial Technology

So, I've been reading the pinned suggestions and there are a lot of good ones. I like the arrow recovery system. Where you could craft several kinds of arrows from different arrows... and the increase in power would be less and less significant as you go up the metal tiers. But what the metals affect is recovery. I also like the idea of having some sort of primitive industrial sort of technology like wind and water wheels. So I'm posting this as a play on that technology. I'll start with industrial aspects first... The first is the windmill and watermills... which mill grain for consumption. I like how terrafirma forces you to make the bloomery... so my suggestion would be the some the watermills the only think is... it will be significantly bigger than the bloomery. like a least the size of a 3x3x3 house as in a volume of 27 cubes3 With that I thought of another industrial component, a saw mill. This what I was thinking of. What would you do, you build the log piles like so and place them inside the contraption which requires support beams, stone bricks and a saw blade in place of the kapok planks... then attach a water mill... you have to make flowing water though. And slowly the saw cuts thought the wood loops and releases a whole mess of wooden planks... or support beams... depending on what you set it to. Another piece of is gun powder weapons, and blasting powder. So here's what it adds, Nitrogen sources, Pyrite, a use to saltpeter, and sulfur ore close to lava. Pyrite would be an iron ore that can be used as an alternative to flint. Saltpeter and Sulfur to make your own gunpowder for your gun. Nitrogen sources adds the ability to make real TNT, that is used for specific blasting areas. It requires String, paper and TNT powder. Which requires gunpowder and nitrogen source. And the nitrogen can be used for farming as well. And TNT cubes are crafted by combining TNT sticks together for storage.... don't let a creeper near it... it would be serious griefing . 1 stick will blast several layers of dirt, or a few layers of stone, about what a vanilla TNT would do. It drops ore if you hit any... however you cant get raw stone from using TNT, all the stone it removes converts to cobble... and any dirt or wood you blow up is destroyed. Now, back to the primitive fire arms... I was think of adding flintlock muskets. But with added rules... not like adding that silly mod of balkon. I.E. Muskets can't be craft out of any metal. Muskets require Specific Alloys and higher Tier metals. Like bronze, wrought iron, and steel. And the bullets require soft metals like the already present bismuth, zinc, tin, silver, gold and lead. To make a musket you need a chisel... a 2x welded ingot of hard metal, a plank of wood, a flint and steel (or pyrite and steel), and a ram rod (made by just using an ingot of another hard metal). All the pieces require separate research papers and needs to be assembled on a crafting table. (the higher the metal tier the more durable the gun) Bullets need their own research too. 1 ingot makes like 8-10 rounds... all metals have the same attack. Regardless of metal used the attack is devastating. This idea came to me while reading the recoverable metal arrows for bows. I though since bows can recover arrows this should be the drawback to a musket. You cant recover bullets unlike the bronze/iron/steel arrows. So.... I thought I'd go end with pros and cons. + Musket will one hit kill most mobs. + Musket has a flat trajectory, therefore a more "accurate" range. - The musket is expensive. - The musket is loud. It will make all animals run as if attacked... and hostile mobs charge as if damaged. - The musket has a much slower reload time compared to bows (or crossbows if any are made). - Requires gun powder and shot in order to work. - Musket has a shorter range than arrows or bolts. - (if the recoverable arrows are used) you cant recover shot. So what do you think???
  9. Colonial Technology

Why? When I think of NPC... I think of characters that you can chat with in game. Ore do certain things within the game... Besides fighting you or standing there like livestock... Like building--- and I know most NPC sort of things, might takeaway from terrafirmacraft's overall focus. So, I understand the reluctance there. (I would like to see an NPC mod for terrafirmacraft though....) But no human mobs....? I mean wouldn't it just be as simple as adding another mob? For example when I say musketeering bandits. These mobs aren't really anymore NPCish than a sheep you get wool from or the skeleton you just fought.- Just a thought...
  10. Colonial Technology

I agree with the gun powder recipe. A quern could also be required to grind all the ingredient to powder like IRL. However I must remind you.... How awkward everything else looks. Shooting skeletons... The use no drawing motions. Zombies wielding swords they don really use... I.e. swinging them. You also have to remember this idea of mine is only viable if a few others are accepted. Like craft able "gunpowder", and waterwheels or windmills "preferably both" Also guns weren't meant to be a kill all best weapon. Like someone else stated a "spread" of sorts could be added. Making an inaccurate or unreliable after so many blocks... Unlike a bow that could arch "snipe" in a shot at a much farther range. Maybe somewhere between 7-15 blocks. Where a bow could be tweaked to go nearly triple and cause damage... Just not as potent as the musket (and a bow can recover metal arrows). Other colonial age mobs would be nice of course.... Musketeering bandits would be good for for a challenge.
  11. Colonial Technology

Ok... a picture at your request...
  12. Colonial Technology

You're right... Industrialism started around 1700. My mistake.
  13. Colonial Technology

Ah... No. Condescension isn't what I was going for exactly... or insinuating that you didn't know what you were doing. If was going for condescension, I could attack a lack of imagination... but, poking and stabbing someone I don't know or hasn't particularly insulted me isn't my game. I'm sorry you were offended, it isn't my intention... I was teasing BTW that's a better word.People usually do like me btw Or, bully me cause I'm too kind. All I know is that you and Bioxx created a great mod. I like it, that's why you find me here, I don't have forum accounts at with any of the other mods I like. But you have to admit, the remark you made is a little funny. "Because it don't look powerful enough"... lol.... In a world that's made of blocks, really? AS I SAID... if its beyond your capabilities as a modder or Bioxx... same deal I understand. I'm not a modder myself, wouldn't know where to start... How does that even begin to sound condescending?... I don't know... but again it wasn't my intention to offend you. While the saw mill might be during the Rennaisance period... which begins in the 1700s. Firmarms, windmills, or waterwheels are around that age. I want to think the first "muskets" were invented at around 1460s or something like that. Hand cannons I think were invented about a century or two before. Although... flintlock muskets I think are new... if the 1500 century is the limit... matchlock muskets would have to be used. They were made a little differently. SDA209... could you help me out here...? Sorry I didn't get your joke by the way.
  14. So.... What is My Gender?

I once new a guy that had prettier shoulderlength hair than most chicks I seen. Reminds me of a beer comercial where some guy was staring at chicks butt because of the hair lol. Some dudes have nice hair. Though, I don't think I'll let mine grow out to far.
  15. [minor worldgen] sand and gravel beaches

At the same time there shouldn't be sand/rock/gravel every time land touches a body of water. Sometimes, it's just dirt. If there's way that it only generates sand near bodies of water that are X large. While smaller bodies only have dirt and a river should have more gravel than sand.... Vice versa for oceans. You could have beaches like Hawaii... Black.
  16. Weaving and Dyeing

You probably wouldn't for the time being... Not until you can make "beds" out of something else besides wool. It's hard to build shelters and make them "safe" from mobs in 1 day... If not impossible... Well I can't do it anyway. I'm actually thankful I don't have Somnia or I would never get anywhere.
  17. Improved Stone Knapping Interface

Some metamorphic rocks a very strong... I.E. marble is very hard.. Maybe harder than some igneous. Gneiss and Slate... Are very weak... Weaker than most sedimentary rocks. Comparable to shale, Or mudstone/siltstone. And quartzite.... Is also very hard... I've tried to chisel that stone... Not easy. Limestone shouldn't be sneezed at either... I think two different stones should bring up a knapping interface. But, the weaker stone gets shaped into a tool.
  18. Colonial Technology

-- And that statement makes even more sense. Unless it's impossible, I see no reason why. It looks plenty powerful to me .. and also, there's plenty of room to stick a water mill in and have the blades not touch the ground... especially if the blades are 2-3 blocks long. Historically you couldn't build watermills just anywhere, so the same limitations would apply here. But, as I said it's his baby, not mine. And.it's all up to him, not me. And, for the second part, because I can!!!! I said you were right did I not, I don't mean to across as a know it all, I apologize if I did. I mean miniball not Minie ball which I imagine is pronounced "Miniay" I imagine, but my spanish is not French so I might be wrong there. So, mini as in small actually different from Minie as the Surname of a French inventor (co-developer when I looked it up to confirm you the last time you posted). So, as you can see, not a far stretch. I'm from the American South, and had several Civil War buffs as friends, I did know the those bullets existed... I just didn't know what they were called or who invented them. And by the way... Rifled muskets WERE in the Revolutionary war. That was actually a topic about American infantry... which was better American Muskets (longer and harder to load, more accurate. Or, Brittish muskets, shorter and easier to load... less accurate.)--- Anyways they were hunting rifles and less used in military... they were called long rifles.
  19. Weaving and Dyeing

I know but currently saws only make planks....But, you could make a "Saw,chisel" crafting combos... as well as with blueprints. It'd like you were Lenardo Da Vinci. You could also add spider string required for some of the binding or something too. How about you get raw wool from sheep... which is like (freshly picked cotton)... absolutely no use... not even place-able as a block. Then you can put it through a loom, and the look well make carpets which you can stack to make blocks. This would encourage sheep farming later in the game.... for those who like you using wool as a building material.Dunk did say he was going to make several types of bed (each with different crafting recipes, and differing appearances)... and with no real bonuses... right?
  20. Weaving and Dyeing

You could add saws as well... Like you need chisel and saw to make all the components. I.e. like IRL you would need a saw to make good quality furniture. Maybe blueprints for each part. It is a complex machine after all... And the after you've made/chiseled all part you can make a loom. ---as I said... Add enough complication and add more "important goals" it'll most like get ignored for a while. As is its a more decorative thing.
  21. Spelunking.

The already are... Just bigger. With the occasional stalactite. You need to add walls and water to narrow the cave. As well as lager stactites and mites
  22. The Wheel

    Oh, the check mark?
  23. [Simple] Armor Stand.

--- uh no. Armor rack is doable.. Most certainly not over kill... Give it the training dummy look. Like off of balkons mod. Also be sure that you only can place 1 of everything.
  24. The Wheel

The mobile version of this website really needs a like button. Anyway how about an ox cart using the already present cow.... Slower than horse of course. There I posted something ;-)
  25. Weaving and Dyeing

It could be wood items... Requiring metal tools to craft... I.e chisel. A loom isn't crucial... So it will probly be ignored until most people start getting alloys. Any I was thinking... You should be able to weave silk carpets with spidy silk.you know to show of how many sliders you killed... But it would have to take a deasent number.
