      Server Move   09/13/2018

      I (Dries007) have recently taken over as main developer and server admin. This involved moving servers to reduce cost. It's likely there will be some more downtime in the future but most  things should be sorted by now. This forum is in dire need of replacement as the software is quite old and can't be easily updated. If you wish to discuss or stay updated, join our discord: https://invite.gg/terrafirmacraft.       ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Okay, that's pretty screwed up. Then again, it's no worse than the hundreds of pay to win apps that you can get, aside from the fact that now they actually have competition, which drives it even further. But I can understand that now.
  2. Option to reduce plant spawn rate

    I always find myself overburdened with food. While I realize this might be solved by simply taking less, I feel also that I find an excess in a small area, and very effective food crops can be harvested en masse to allow for excessive quantities of food with little time spent to gather it. I feel it could be helpful to simply have an option in the configuration file to reduce the spawn rate of plants, much like what is currently in place to affect the spawning of ore veins.
  3. Should TFC give more support to other playstyles?

    He's not saying anything is stopping him. He's saying that certain play styles don't have much to make them interesting, and some additions could be fun. Kind of like adding more mobile structures or other similar things for nomads, or adding more complex forestry mechanics for woodsmen. Me, I'd kinda like to see an OPTION (not a forced way) to reduce the amount of wild food. I can get a giant amount of food and other resources simply from gathering it after winters, and don't have much of a need for farming other than for material crops like jute, or if attempting to mass produce booze. It'd definetely add to the farmer role, and make the gathering role much more interesting and meaningful.

    Oh, okay. I mean, I never really got the point of pay servers, except non-profit ones, but I didn't see a reason to remove them. I guess I can understand though that some of this is a bit excessive. And I misread and thought I read Microsoft instead of Mojang. Sorry. I sometimes miss entire words past the start.

  6. I would suggest recategorizing to minor or annoying. It is not a "severe" issue. Severe is pretty much gamebreaking. This is just a slight annoyance.
  7. That's what I've been doing. Early game, I took a large ceramic vessel around. Keeps tons of stuff.
  8. Purifying Water

    Maybe just heating it over a firepit or a forge? I mean, a pit kiln is going to be hot enough to boil off all of that water, and leave you an empty jug.

    I actually support the idea of an oil lamp. Something that might last longer than the torch, but needs fuel to refill it. Otherwise, candles would be nice too.
  10. Impressions on B79

    I'd like to see thatch implemented as a block similar to spider webs. It would be very hard to get through, but possible, and possibly, would be designed so that mobs wouldn't pathfind through it, although it wouldn't act as a full, secure block like others, and would still be able to be affected by falling blocks and things of the sort. It's just that without it's roofing abilities, it's kinda useless.
  11. Way to Turn off Monsters?

    I personally would like an option that would restrict the height they could spawn at, so that you'd only have them spawning in caves, or have different rules, such as having certain structures or areas that they are common to, or something else to remove some of the randomness of their spawning behavior. I've never been a huge fan of the current spawning system that Mojang wrote, it just seems to make them spawn in places that are very inconvenient, and aren't very believable. I mean, I just don't like monsters spawning from nothing, and not being persistent to any degree in environments.
  12. I was just thinking this wouldn't need a hotkey added. Could you like to that, because I couldn't find that in a search? Also, I was just figuring this might be something that'd be a stepping stone to other code that might lead to future additions.
  13. I just thought that that might look nice. Just to make it so that you can make docks with a proper looking support for them.
  14. That'd be acceptable. Just to make it simpler to use the ceramic vessels for food. I like how food has different size and weight depending on amount, but having to manually split it can be a hassle.
