      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Hello there StringBurka and Killster, first of all thanks for your replies! String, I'm not entirely sure, but isn't the "Breeding/Growing" time measured by ticks? So, changing the amount of days in a month (or a year) would probably only change time it takes to change seasons? About changing the time for days, this could make breeding/growing happens faster, but at the same time day and night would be just extremely short cycles, right? About keeping a Multiplayer server on, While this is a good idea, I don't usually like keeping my PC turned on while I'm away from home, and some times I'm away for days. While I'm at my House I usually just let the game run on "Lan-Mode" so it doesn't pause; But anyway, thanks for your comments! I'll do a search here to see If I can discover how to change the days/months/years as you've said and see how far I can go. I will update this post as soon a find it and test it. DID IT: Here is what I found out, so far. I've been able to change the amount of ticks per day and days per year (you can find it into the TFC config file, it is inside your minecraft directory, in the config folder) From what I gathered and tested: - Changing the amount of "ticks per day" makes the days and nights longer or shorter, but it has no effect on crops, you'll basically have to wait the same amount of "ticks". - Changing the amount of Days Per Year makes seasons come and go faster, then again... no change in the speed of crops/breding. Now, I recalled an "old cheat" in minecraft that is "/time add 10000" (or any other number) that simply adds the current amount of ticks to the time, making things. With that animals do breed and crops do grow. So, as a "temporary fix" I can simply calculate how much time has passed (IRL) since I last played and simply add the current amount of ticks to the game. I kind of wish there was an "official" way to do this, but I guess this will have to do! Thanks for the support guys, hope one day this gets worked into the mod. Thank's again!
  2. This is sort of a question mixed with a suggestion. So, follow me a little bit here: Things like Crops and Breeding take a lot of time in TerraFirmaCraft, and that is fine by me... I love to have to "work" for my meal. But "time" as far as I understand, work differently in Single and Multi-Player. If you're playing solo, not connected to a server, time only passes when you're playing. If you're playing multi-player, connected to a server, time passes as long as there is someone connected and in chunk" (TerraFirmaCraft may have a general system to keep track of time globally because of the seasons, but I'm not sure). So, here is the deal: a Cow takes (AFAIK) 120 Minecraft Days to Breed, that means 40 hours in "Real Life". - In a Multiplayer server, you mate two cows and come back almost two "real-life" days later. - In single-player mode, you would need to play for almost 40 hours straight to see your first little cow. At first I thought that a system that "compares" the current time and the time you've last saved (in case you're loading the game) and then simply make time "pass" accordingly, could work very well for Single-Player, mimmicking the multiplayer experience. But then, I'm not sure MineCraft can access your computer clock. So maybe this could end up being a pain to implement. So, maybe there could be a "single-player" switch, were things simply take less time than multiplayer? What do you guys think?
  3. Items with no use

For some reason, while smelting Malachite I ended up with a Platinum Liquid, is this how Platinum is usually made or it is a bug? I've checked the Wiki but I found no information.
  4. random question

It is, Tnoy23. The Forge can actually smelt all the metals as far as I'm concerned. Just be careful, put some molds into the "Mold Slot" or you'll lose your copper. as far as I remember, Copper heats up pretty easily
  5. A Smart Way to Find Higher Level Ores?

Thanks very much everyone for the tips, and specially you MayaKnife, I've tried to apply your tips to my Biome and ended up finding some Magnetite in two very different places. I've never found Gabbro Rock in my Biome, what is yours? While I did find Magnetite and many kinds of different rocks in my Biome, things didn't go smoothly as I thought they would. First, both times I've found Malachite they were into underground caves and surrounded by 3 minerals, so the readings were just hell "Large Sample of Borax" next to "Large Sample of Saltpeter" next to that coal ore/mineral and so on. Is this just bad luck by me, or usually "higher level" ores are surrounded by minerals? It makes reading such a pain, and honestly mining in caves is hard as hell, specially because Magnetite seems to be scattered all around the place. SDA209, I usually triangulate (SP?) my position now, since i find many different minerals close to each other, so following what the prospector's say is just impossible for me. Do you have the luck of finding most of your ores "isolated"? Anyway, thanks for all the tips guys, really enjoying the game, and now, the community!
  6. Brewing and beverages

I love the idea, I've always felt that Brewing is fascinating in Real-Life and for some reason it never gets the love it deserves on games.
  7. Hello guys, this is my first post here in the forums. Great place, I've enjoyed a lot learning about TFC here and polishing my gameplay. I've become quite confortable with the whole "mining" process of metals close to the surface, While it takes a while to get the hang of it. I had lot's of fun searching rocks, building sleuces, Triangulation with the prospector's pick, and finally being able to mix alloys to make Bronze. But, I'm having a extremely hard time finding higher level ores than the ones used to make bronze. I've tried time and time again to make huge holes on the ground, untill I hit close to lava and make large corridors, but all I've been able to find are minerals that AFAIK have no use yet. Anyway, is there any smarter way to find Magnetite, Limonite or Hemonite and advance into Iron Age? I've tried to keep myself close to the kind of rocks that these ores spawn in, but no luck so far. Anyway, the post is becoming too long! So, any ideias or hints, or even in-game systems that I've missed, to find these precious ores?
  8. Make a difference between sword and mace

I've always felt that combat in Minecraft should take into account stopping power, not just pushing enemies away from you. So, IMHO a Mace; - Should do less damage than a Sword. - Should have more stopping power (meaning the enemy takes a little more time to be able to hit you again) - Should do more damage than the sword, when facing enemies with Armor.
