      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Patreon

I'm currently looking into setting up a Patreon page for TerraFirmaCraft. https://www.patreon.com/ I'm curious what kind of rewards you, the potential patrons, would like to see and would motivate you to potentially make a pledge. Because TFC2 is still in very very early development, the rewards from patreon page would be primarily aimed at development of the current Beta TFC, and not TFC2. The proceeds from this page would be split between our development staff. Here are some ideas of possible patron rewards: Your name on our credits page:http://terrafirmacraft.com/credits.htmlDirect access to the current development builds of the next hotfix. In essence, you would become an official beta tester for new features. While TFC is open source, and therefore anyone can compile the latest development build to test it, we do not offer direct support for those who do so. This reward in essence would be us periodically compiling the in-progress code and sending it directly to patrons who could then play around with new features or bug test if they desire. It is important to note that these builds will be very unstable, and patrons will be highly encouraged to back up their saves before using them. The ability to guest-star in an official TFC tutorial video, that will be posted on the wiki, such as my Propick Video.Access to a patron-only TFC server, that is either running the current stable release, or the latest possibly unstable development build. While I cannot speak for our other developers, I would personally make sure to periodically hop on to this server and play along with the patrons.Personalized Q&A. Patrons would be able to ask the developers almost any question (within reason) and get a personalized response back from a developer.Periodic streams or videos of our development, testing, and documentation processes. See behind the scenes what all goes into making TFC and maintaining its wiki.If you have any other ideas for patron rewards, feel free to post them below. The only reward that I currently can think of that would likely never be added, or only added with a very high price tag would be for you to suggest a feature (within reason) that would then be added to the game. After looking at the different options for a patreon page, I am currently thinking that we would set it up to be a monthly pledge, rather than a per-content pledge due to the way we currently handle development of the mod. A monthly pledge system would also be great motivation for us to push forward with development and work towards stricter deadlines so we can feel that we are earning your donations. This post has been promoted to an article Edit: For those of you who would like to instead make an individual one-time donation to our developers, all of our donation buttons can be found on this page: http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Donate
  2. If you want to edit the wiki.

If you want to edit the wiki and feel that you have a good grasp on TerraFirmaCraft, leave a reply here with your username that you've created at the official wiki. Please do not add your name here unless you fully intend to be an active editor. It takes time for me whitelist you, time which is better spent actually working on the mod, the forums, and the wiki. You must meet at least one of the following requirements in order to get editor status. These requirements are primarily here so that I know that you are an active member of the community, and that you are able to communicate with me to make sure that the edits you wish to make are approved and correctbefore you make them.I've been adding a few people and they aren't editing, or they are making many small edits that I have to go back and revert because they are incorrect, so this will stop folks from wasting my time. Sorry to those that genuinely want to contribute. At least 100 posts on the forums. These posts will be used to gauge your knowledge of the mod, so spamming random questions and irrelevant replies will not help you here. I would strongly suggest that if you wish to choose to fulfill this requirement, that your posts are either guides, discussion, or answering questions in support. If your post history shows you asking a question that has already clearly been answered elsewhere either in multiple other posts, or explicitly in the change log, it is very likely that your application will be denied.Become an active member in our IRC channel. A lot of communication must take place before making larger edits to the wiki. A live chat such as IRC makes this communication much easier as replies are sent quickly back and forth, rather than the slower option of private messages on the forum, the wiki, or emails. Please note that this activity must be happening when I am around, as I do not scroll through any logs of past chat in the channel. An understanding of TFC's code. This option is primarily there for those who wish to make very small or minor edits to the wiki, such as changes in numbers. This is also an option for those who do not wish to flesh out all of the proper formatting of information in the wiki, but instead would like to provide a basic framework of information that a page would be based on. Providing such framework including class names and line numbers makes my life much easier when it comes to the research for writing a page.Bioxx has only one major rule when it comes to editing the wiki, failure to follow this rule will result in immediate termination of your editor status. Do not add raw numbers that are used in the code behind the scenes. Bioxx does not want TerraFirmaCraft to be treated as a math game where everyone min/maxes and only ever follows one route. If you wish to play that way then good for you, but adding raw numbers to the wiki will affect the way that everyone else plays the game as well. You cannot un-see the numbers once they've been seen. Please respect this rule.I myself have a few guidelines that must be followed when editing the wiki, but they are a bit more flexible and it is unlikely that your editor status will be revoked for breaking the guidelines, unless you are doing it consistently. Preview your edits before saving them. The fewer saved edits that are made on a page, the less revisions I have to dig through when searching for something in the history of the page. The preview button is there so that you can double check your formatting for simple mistakes such as spelling errors, or a missing character in a table that breaks all of the columns and rows. The page should be as accurate as possible and ready to be viewed by the entire public when you hit save. Follow the provided Style Guide. There is a certain look and style to the TFC wiki that may be different from other wikis that you have visited or edited. In the majority of cases, there are reasons why we follow a different style. Please ask if you have questions about any part of this guide. If you wish to make any changes other than minor edits (like complete page or section overhauls), please ask me first. All of my contact information can be found on the Contact Us page. Once you prove yourself as a skilled wiki editor that provides accurate information (not conjecture) and properly follows the style guide, you will be able to make larger changes without prior approval. Please keep in mind that all of your edits will be monitored, and you will be notified of any changes or rollbacks that are made due to mistakes. I take extreme pride in this wiki, and how far it has come. In 99.9% of cases, I have final say of what goes on the wiki, and what does not. There are a handful of reasons why this wiki is not open to public editing. Please respect our wishes to make this wiki the best that it can be. If you do not wish to go through the effort it takes to become a trusted wiki editor, but you would still like to contribute or help, the Talk section of every page is open to public editing. To access the Talk section of any page, click on the tab at the top left of the page which says "Discussion."
  3. WAILA Configuration

Now that 0.79.16 has been released, I'm creating a new post regarding the addition of WAILA support. One of the big things that I did not do for this update is add WAILA config options to disable some of the newly added support. I'm not going to go through and list all of the different things that are now displayed, but if you ever come across something in the HUD that you would like to be able to disable so that it no longer shows up, please respond to this post and I will make sure to add a config option for it for 0.79.17. I will also be looking into adding WAILA support for TFC's mobs for 0.79.17 as well.
  4. What pages should be updated first?

I've sent out a few tweets regarding this, but thought I might as well cover my bases and make a post here as well. I'm currently in the middle of studying for finals, so I am unable to put as much effort into the wiki as I would like. Because of this, I need to take the update one page at a time. I don't have much of an idea of which pages should take priority over others, so I'm asking the community. What currently outdated pages of the wiki would you like to see updated first? I have gotten a single request for the Food page, but not much response beyond that.
  5. Wiki Edits/Suggestions

Please post any suggestions you have for the wiki. This includes, but is not limited to: Missing Pages, Incorrect Information, Typos, and other information you would like to see on the wiki, that currently isn't there. Please do not ask for raw data/numbers to be posted on the wiki for things like smithing, durability and weapon damage. These requests will be ignored.
  6. The "Magic" of TFC

I've decided to create a poll and ask the community what their opinion is on addons and applications that possibly spoil the "magic" of TFC by disclosing the numbers behind the scenes, or share other information that can possibly ruin the fun of a mechanic because once it has been seen, it cannot be un-seen. Two examples of this are the smithing and taste mechanics, which have both already been banned from being disclosed in the Discussion and Guides forums, as well as the wiki. It should be noted that alloy calculators do not fall into this category, since all of the numbers and math for alloying are publicly posted on the wiki, as those numbers are necessary in order to successfully create an alloy. http://terrafirmacraft.com/faq.html I'm using strawpoll so that players who do not have a forum account will still be able to vote, so please share this post with anyone you know who plays TFC and uses addons and/or applications, even if they don't have a forum account. http://strawpoll.me/4066741 Edit: Due to some confusion on what the poll was actually asking, a new one has been created: http://strawpoll.me/4085968
  7. Dirt/Sand/Clay/Farmland Template

  8. Offline Servers

Please make sure to read the new announcement regarding offline servers:http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/announcement/3-offline-servers/
  9. It had come to my attention that Inventory Tweaks was not working properly with TFC. After chatting with the developer of inventory tweaks, we have come up with a solution. Inventory Tweaks Website:http://inventory-tweaks.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ You need to download theInvTweaksCompatibility.xml file I have attached to this post and put it in your config folder. That's it! If you come across any issues, please let me know. InvTweaksCompatibility.xml The above xml compatibility file can be included in any modpack. You do not need to ask for permission. If required to show proof of permission for using the above file, simply link this post. Because of the added crafting and quiver slots, there are some known issues regarding the use of sorting the inventory actually on a player (The one you access by pressing your Inventory key, Default: E) when using any version after and including 0.78.0 For more information on how to edit your config files to account for these issues, please see my below post: # INVENTORY GRID# 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9# A [A1][A2][A3][A4][A5][A6][A7][A8][A9]# B [B1][B2][B3][B4][B5][B6][B7][B8][B9]# C [C1][C2][C3][C4][C5][C6][C7][C8][C9]## D [D1][D2][D3][D4][D5][D6][D7][D8][D9]# INVENTORY SLOTS# 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3# [XX][XX][XX][XX][XX][XX][A1][A2][A3]# [A4][A5][A6][A7][A8][A9][B1][B2][B3]# [B4][B2][B6][B7][B8][B9][C1][C2][C3]## [C4][C5][C6][C7][C8][C9][D1][D2][D3]# 3x3 CRAFTING GRID# [XX][XX][D6]# [XX][XX][D7]# [D4][D5][D8]C4-C9 LOCKEDD LOCKED# INVENTORY SLOTS# 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3# [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]# [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][XX][XX][XX]# [XX][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][XX][XX][XX]## [XX][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
  10. Server error with mods

The crash report you provided shows Thermos is installed. When filling out the form you claimed you can reproduce the problem after uninstalling thermos. Please provide a crash report of this happening without thermos installed.
  11. StellarSky (Not Working)

I just want to point out that TFC just takes the year length you give it and divides it by 12 and that's how many days are in every single month. We don't do any of the "these months have 30 days and those have 31 etc"
  12. Are you able to get connected textures to work? You might try looking at some of the existing texture packs on this forum that successfully uses connected textures and take a look at their files to point you in the right direction. Here's one I know of:
  13. Server Crashes when Players join

I'll restate rule #5 that was shown to you when submitting the form that you claimed yes to reading and understanding: If you have Optifine or a non-forge server plugin api (Examples: Craftbukkit, Cauldron, Thermos, etc) installed, uninstall them and make sure you can still reproduce the bug before submitting. Optifine and non-forge server plugin api's edit forge base classes, which causes bugs that TFC cannot fix without breaking forge compatibility. The crash is happening because you have Thermos installed. The bug is with Thermos, not with TFC. We cannot help you here.
  14. Server Crashes when Players join

The crash report you provided says that you have Thermos installed. When filling out the form you claimed that you can reproduce the bug after uninstalling thermos. Can you please provide a crash report that's generated when thermos is not installed?
  15. [Use Provided Form]Cave-ins not working

Automated Message:This topic has been locked because it does not use the provided form for bug and crash reports. Click here to use the provided form to submit a bug or crash report.
  16. How working ore gen in TFC and how I can change it?

There is a option in the config for each ore called "rarity". Rarity means the center of a vein will be on average in 1/x chunks of an area of the correct stone type. So a higher rarity value means the ore will be less common. Each vein is calculated separately. You cannot add additional drops unless you install some other mod that gives you that option.
  17. dustFlux oredict not supported by anvil

Pretty much every spot in the code that's referencing flux is looking for the exact item, and does not use the ore dictionary. It would be feasible to update it with a bit of work, but considering there won't be another update for TFC1 unless a major exploit or crash is reported, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  18. Underground Farm

No. Crops that do not have access to sunlight will die. Even if they could grow without sunlight moving your farm underground wouldn't help because the cold would still kill them.
  19. [Solved] Can you do ore support from others mod?

There's already support for this. Add the ores you want to spawn to TFCOres.cfg
  20. [Won't Fix] Saplings from tree cutting

Trees don't drop saplings when the leaves despawn for balance reasons. Chopping down trees is quick and easy because you only have to break one block and you don't have to wait for the leaves to despawn. If you also got saplings, it would be too easy to farm trees.
  21. TFC2?

A bunch of the assets like textures are going to be the same. There are plenty of other mods where the next big version is practically a whole new mod but they use the same name. Applied energistics and equivalent exchange are two examples.
  22. [Solved] torch can't give light while in my hand

You've figured it out, but for future readers, The options are not in the dynamic light .jar file, they are in the config folder that is next to the mods folder where you put the .jar.
  23. [Solved] torch can't give light while in my hand

The same way you do on any operating system. Open the file in a text editor.
  24. Items wont lay down on ground

If you are talking about just rocks, sticks, and ores that generate in the world aren't laying flat, that's because you have fast graphics turned on.
  25. Boats and Ships

We didn't need the teleport mechanic because vanilla boats were glitchy, we needed it because we don't want players to easily hop between islands. We want them to have to do something specific before they are allowed to go to the next island. If they can just get in a boat and go wherever they want, it defeats the entire point.Boating won't give players scope, because the islands are fairly close together in reality. Also, your argument about immersion and 'click to teleport' doesn't work because we said we were using portals, like the vanilla Minecraft portal that you literally just walk through, and not something you have to click on and choose where you want to go.
