      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. torches burnout

I agree with the water but the smooth blocks would be more than is possible with a mod as far as I am aware.
  2. Persistent block damage.

Fair enough point but I have seen LP with this feature with no problems as they adapted very quickly. Also I think that there was still a split second where clicking has no effect which gives time for taping a block with no negative effects. Plus to be fair if I was showing of something IRL I don't often hit it.
  3. tree chopping

There would not be that much lag if any, as i'm suggesting they fall just like sand but with a slight movement to the side. Even a big tree is at most 40 blocks and that much falling sand has no negative effect for my average laptops performance. If it lands on you and kills you then fair enough that makes total sense so what's the problem. In terms of preparing for night one second to get four logs is not going to cause any noticeable delays at all. In my opinion this addition would fit in very well with the current mod making it yet more immersive and realistic which is the whole point of the mod.
  4. Sapling nursery

That may be a bad type of tree or very bad luck as I often get one or two per tree. Still support the idea though.
  5. tree chopping

This method of producing logs once the tree has fallen will be exactly as quick as chopping trees in vanilla as currently it is extremely fast so I don't know where your coming from when you say it too time consuming. And the picture above shows how the tree could fall making harvesting both logs and leaves less hassle and more realistic.
  6. torches burnout

Fair point but there has been discussion about alterations to mobs in the way that they spawn and potentially removing the unrealistic ones for natural enemies such as bears and wolves(violent ones).
  7. pickaxe shaped stone

The flint tools cover this already. Yes there not shaped like any particular tool but that could be change with a texture pack so the functionality would not be affected. If your suggesting when gathering flint some are only usable for certain tasks depending on there shape then that might be interesting.
  8. Sapling nursery

I have no problem personally with the saplings drop rate but I would still love to see this in the mod, mostly so I don't have to harvest as many leaves. I really enjoy structures like the bloomery and so if it was another structure that would be great as well.
  9. Tree physics

I personally think that rather than automatically dropping the sticks or simply evaporating the leaves should fall to the ground so that you can harvest them after chopping down the tree especially as the current despawning of the leaves does not make much sense. This would also mean you have to be careful when chopping down trees as the leaves could be made to cause the player damage when they fall, it also makes them easier to reach. They should probably wither away after some time as well to prevent cluttering. In addition to leaves being more realistic I would like to see tree roots added as this would make mining in a forest more challenging, the roots could be used in the new agricultural features that are to be announced and possibly you could increase certain ores concentration if they are related to trees(petrified wood ect). Additionally it’s possible that the roots would trap heavier metals or gems that would normally have descended in to the ground over time, which could mean that you could have very small spattering of ores spawn just under forests which would help the player in the early game.
  10. Casting instead of Scribing

To make a mould you first need an example of the object you wish to make a mould from.
  11. Punching Trees

Actually yeah that makes total sense and would remove the being stuck after a cave-in problem.
  12. Alternate Brick source

Yeah I forgot about the hammer being needed for the flux and now there appears to be too little gain from this to make it worth Bioxx's time. But the idea of getting bricks without metal work may become relevant later on as the mod increases in scale and players may not have time for metalwork if the other aspects become significant.
  13. Alternate Brick source

The addition of an alternate route to get bricks would help the start of metallurgy eg flint + cobble = brick this would be resource demanding but would allow the production of forge and bloomery if tin is too hard to find in the players area. This would make a chisel a bonus like the axe rather than a requirement.
  14. Tools Availability

That is what I was going for except that it would be slightly 3D and basically work like a torch on a wall but drop the appropriate tool.
  15. tree chopping

I really like the idea. It could be made so that the block that you chop first turns into a item(logs) like normal and then the rest of the blocks fall due to gravity but with a diagonal shift to make it look like the tree is falling. Then you have to whack the blocks on the ground to simulate chopping them into manageable logs. If this were to affect leaves as well that would help in getting sticks and saplings as normally they would just be destroyed which has always bugged me.
  16. What would you find in the dungeons?

I heard a rumour like that as well but I like the idea of panning it just needs a bit of work. no point in removing it imo.
  17. soya beans

Are you that much of a vegetarian that your characters can't eat virtual meat?
  18. What would you find in the dungeons?

Yeah I agree with the new bucket blueprint. BTW you don't technical need a bucket for the sluice as you can just dig a channel near the water but buckets would be nice anyway.I wouldn't be surprised if they are added in the beta2 with the rest of the agriculture.
  19. Punching Trees

I actually thought that hunger could kill on any difficulty in which the meter went down(haven't yet experienced starvation), perhaps that could be an alteration along with this current idea.
  20. Punching Trees

The only way you would be stuck is on peaceful but you can change the difficulty anyway. In regards to death due to not being able to escape, I think it would be an interesting challenge to make sure you have enough tools and support the sealing properly. So the result would be supports are more useful and there is an actual risk to greedily digging to deep. Both of these results would be an improvement in my opinion. The one issue that could cause problems would be if someone slept in a cave and then got traped in the cave as when they die they will spawn back in the cave. I feel this is an issue with the spawn system however. And Actually if you broke the bed you would spawn outside so you would be fine.
  21. Actual Age Progression

I would like that as well but it mentions on the top post that you would not be able to craft certain items until unlocking certain ages which I don't like.
  22. Actual Age Progression

I think that the progression of the player should depend on there personal skill and knowledge so that they are not forced to grind through starting ages when starting additional worlds. The current method of limiting progression by requiring certain pre requisite resources works better in my opinion and I hope it will continue to improve as more aspects are added to the mod.
  23. Also if you have some of that stone in your inventory and have some other types as well you have to remember all the numbers for each type of cobble you have which can be a lot in this game. This idea would definitely fix this problem plus has other benefits that you mentioned.
  24. Landslides

This might not even remotely affect buildings anyway as on a wall a block has two other blocks in contact at its sides, so it depends on how easily the slide would be triggered. Also when building you could use a surrounding wall of a stronger material to act as a mould to prevent collapse and remove it when your finished, no slide would occur after if the effect is only triggered by placing gravity affected blocks.
  25. Agriculture and Livestock

To be honest the game could be fine without them both I would just prefer not to have bandits that's all. Without other humanoids it would be more of a survival situation which I would enjoy more.
