      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Welp, hopefully the update is soon, it may fix a few bugs, oh and a few things that happened.

    • Lava fights [Probably lost a bucket, I took his threat to kill the cow too seriously, and he wasn't up to regenerating satiation, if pvp were a thing I'd be punching him with an ender pearl instead]
    • We have buckets [and two dungeons: zombie and skelie]
    • Moved the public storage into my hobble [a room under Deez's house that connects to a huge cave system
    • Made a cobble Gen [until the lava fghts]
    • Had a cow for milk when we have to live off of zombie meat [until lava fights]

    • Bloomery made [Creeper destroyed Forge and Bellows]
    • Forge rebuilt with chimney [bloomery is max size]
    • Smelted Tin [Anvil is very slow to recognize the rules are met, and it save the rules from the previous item worked, in this case, had the tin saw rules instead of the tin ingot rules when trying to shape unshaped tin, and it seems that the bloomery fills infinite molds or it looks that way with the GUI not updating, in addition the GUI always says Output 2kg for some reason]
    • Creepered to fuck; only superficial damage

  2. I guess the crook could be like abomination child of wheat and the fishing rod... not much to say but you can drag [and I do mean DRAG] the animals one at a time, and even toss them, if you want.

The real question is how would the tossing work; would it throw it at your cursor, or opposite the cursor. hopefully both though.

  3. Yes, soup, make another thread for that [suggestion forum rules :Y], but I'd get behind some soup, roux, and broth and things, like cream.

I wonder what else you can do with soy beans, that is within reason.

  4. Though I love Kapok, I'll never cut one down ever again, it was like a fruity asshole apocalypse of hot pink soft wood, I had to walk so far to deposit the loads of wood i got from one tree... other than that, I love walking through the underbrush of the jungles. It is fun, and you should never deny that fact of TFC.

  5. IGN: Foe

    Age: 24

What do you want to do on the server?: I like Dwarves vs Zombies [A growing SMP gamemode], mainly the part that you have to cooperate in it, my favorite class, the builder for its nongendered ability to help the rest of the "Dwarves." So what I'd do, mostly run between you all, and help store/transport things, if not stock the forges, and bloomeries, screw around with metalworking, or make palisades, in hopefully nonaggravating places.

[And other than that, I'd like to know how to install Smart Moving with TFC] [i'm having too much fun with Smart Move]

  6. How about making the damage persistent, abut not entirely permanent- that is to say, you can damage the block all you want but over the course of a few inecraft days [depending on the block's delicateness, or otherwise characteristics] it could sort of revert to its undamaged shape, so LPers can derp about, and the blocks won't look like broken glass forever.

[Other perks could be that if you decide to do a PvP Server with TFCraft, you could use this to emulate the strain of siege on structures, or you could have TNT damage blocks instead of them resisting its blast perfectly, which could help with mining, or razing]

  7. So Tie-ins for butchering, and ranching?

I'd still like to make food a bit more of a serious system, I mean you can make your giant fields wheat, but damn, you'll have to commit some serious compost/resources to that in the long run if you don't start up with some semblance of maintenance.

  8. what i meant as precursor was a more gradual entrance to the metalurgy stage is all. maybe a little leatherworking, or some farming is needed for your first real tools for metal ones

You could incentivize agriculture, and leatherworking before metallurgy by making it hard to survive without a base farm, and some basic leather armor/items.

That being you can still get to metallurgy immediately, but food, and not dying quickly may be a very large problem until you focus on them.

  9. Or you could grind the stone down in the grindstone after this flint-flint tool nonsense.

Make a rock tumbler [the closest thing I can think of to a ball mill to polish things, and the grindstone cane be used to somewhat increase the durability of tools by sharpening their nubs, but ultimately the tool will become too insubstantial to sharpen [or everytime to sharpen the tool you get less durability back, in a sort of logistic curve based on the amount of durability left, and times resharpened]

  10. Eh, I was trying to get into the whole issue of the water not lining up with the 'walls' correctly with some bastardized form of the Redpower2 Subblock system.

I like the idea of these simple subblocks-for aesthetics-, but I swear, if it gets further than one-thirds, it'll be too much.

--Anyways, as far as i can tell, there are going to be three types of wires for the three types of information [two of which already exist] for that mod, and she wasn't able to make red-blu hybrid wires for the first iteration of 2.5, but that's besides the point.

  11. Bones and charcoal are very useful in composting, for example, terra preta, a resilient compost found in South America.

[ If I recall, bone is made of phosphorus, and calcium... forgot what makes calcium so hot when it comes to plant nutrition though]

[ It's resilient since it's lasted thousands of years, and is one hell of a compost ]

  12. I just plain don't want something fragmented, and I want something larger, and using metallurgy as the main way to metric your progression through these ages seems kinda lame, can't there be ages based on astounding shifts in horticulture, or apothecary?

  13. I hate to throw a stick into this but we have to remember the limitations of the voxel engine at the core of Minecraft. If you have a wall that is thin, say takes up even 1/4th of the block. You can have nothing but AIR in the rest of that space. Now I have been toying with the idea of making a 'water fencepost' for a long time so I can put them in water and let it continue to flow past it, but you would need that functionality for everything you would want to place on a wall in your house and the like with the thin wall concept.

Just something to keep in mind, this is not as simple as it sounds as what it directly leads too is significantly more complicated.

But what does redpower2 do then?

  14. OOoo. Using the same mechanic as the bow and arrows: hammer and chisels (as ammo) and you use the hammer (as long as there are chisels above this hammer which are ammo?). Or maybe the other way around: chisel takes damage but you have to have a hammer in your inventory directly above it for it to work. Then you can just carve out the stone bricks instead of getting cobble.

Not sure if that's relevant to this topic though.

Ooh! much like how that sonoma mod does it with the chisel, in which you hold right click [with the chisel selected] and the chisel draws back and chisels the block at the end of the charge up?

  15. Im sure you could take the battlegear mod and use the coding for dualwielding and basically make it integrated into TFC, seems like its possible.

But, wouldn't that add some extraneous UI, why not do something like AdventureCraft with Two Selectors on the hotbar , and some way to allow people to go about things single-handedly?-quite literally.
