      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Build 77 Starting Shelters

I usually build a thatch roof out of a cliff face and stack dirt in such as way so that it does not landslide. If I can't seem to manage that I use logs +Thatch as the walls. Digging under a large boulder is also a pretty effective crude house.
  2. Wiki Consolidation

I am all for consolidation. Right now the wiki often loads incorrectly for me. Having to load fewer pages would help considerably. Having fewer pages to update would also be helpful. All in all the wiki sort of disappointed me and anything that can be done to improve its usability should be done.
  3. Beds, healing, risk, and something new?

You could just make it so that if the bed has access to the sky, hostile mobs have a decent chance of spawning next to you and attacking you in your sleep ((You wake up after the first hit of course)) I think that would greatly discourage people from carrying beds around for quick healing.
  4. water problem idea

Occasionally I could see someone wondering why the water from a swamp isn't salty but the water from the ocean biome right beside it is. Other than that this sounds like an easy and simple way of finally adding saltwater and making thirst an actual concern. Right now thirst is more an annoying thing you have to deal with once in a while than an actual survival mechanic. ((For example I usually stand in 1 block of water while knapping or molding clay XD))
  5. Stoning your blade

Rather than a hidden durability tools could have a random chance to break. This would be extremely low ((Probably less than 1%)). If the tool is of higher quality materials and more skillfully crafted ((Using the already in place smithing mechanics)) the percentage would be even lower. Each time the tool is sharpened the break percentage would increase by a random small amount. If the tool ever reached a point where it had a fair chance of breaking the name could be changed to "Battered X" or "Flimsy X" to let the player know that the tool is reaching the end of its life. The rest would stay as you have written it. I just feel that a random break chance would be better than a set durability. That aside though, no matter how the devs do, it sharpening should be added in some form or another.
  6. Casted Tools and Sharpening

I like this. And it does make me facepalm whenever I pour myself a perfect axe head.
  7. T1 container: Straw basket.

I think if wicker baskets are added they should require 8 straw ((It really isn't hard to find straw and its not a construction material so you won't need hundreds of them)) and hold 6-8 slots worth of non-large items. I dislike the idea of having a really easy way of making almost infinite storage. Maybe hostile mobs should be able to break baskets or as you use them they become damaged and need repair.
  8. More dairy uses and more

Cheese should definitely be added at some point. If only to make dairy products more useful. I also think the oven will eventually be a must have. Butter and pizza would be cool and fun if added but I don't feel like it would make enough of a difference to really bother with implementing it. Not at least until everything of higher priority was added.
  9. Harsher Winter

I think its a good idea. Winter should be a hell of a struggle the first few times around. I would also add negative effects if you go out in extreme temperatures unprotected. Not sure how they would implement it but getting frostbite and potentially dying from it would be awesome. On the flip side the devs could just increase the rate at which you lose thirst when you go out on hot days. I also think that falling through ice should be a possibility and if you get wet you should be far more susceptible to the negative effects of being cold.
  10. Potential use for Rotten Flesh

Some use for rotten flesh would be awesome. I am not sure about leather but rotten flesh should either just be removed or made to have a purpose. On the subject of backpacks.. You can just use clay vessels. They do provide 4 slots that you can fill with any small items. You can also place them on the ground without risk of despawning. That should be plenty of storage until you find the metals to make a sawblade and begin spamming planks.
