      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. I've done it! What next?

I've collected as much red and blue steel as I'll ever use, I've built a great castle, I've made a massive farm producing way more food than I ever need, I've got large sources of almost every metal and mineral, I've even gone so far as to cover my old straw hut in metal plates... But what do I do now? I feel like I've done everything, and I don't know how to progress from this point. So my question is, what do all of you do after the 'completion' of TerraFirmaCraft?
  2. Disappearing Helmets!

Version #: 78.17 SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SMP Suggested Name: Helmet Disappearance Suggested Category:Minor Description: Any time an individual on my server dies with a helmet on, the helmet is gone, no matter if it's at full durability, keepInventory on or off. No matter what variable we change it seems to find a way to go away every time. Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes If yes, which mods? ExtraFirma Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: N/A
  3. Lead.

Lately I've seen a lot of people discussing on servers that there is some 'secret use' for lead, other than decoration. I can't find anything on the wiki about this, or anywhere on the forums, so I simply wish to get a final verdict upon whether or not there is actually a secret use for lead, because drawn out discussions about the possible uses of lead and people acting all secretive is really getting annoying when there is no confirmation on the existence of this secret. To whoever clarifies this, thank you!
  4. Wood pile

This idea seems good, it would also help stop people from using log piles as a cheap roof.
  5. Open Air Latrine Design

Is this supposed to be in the "Suggestions" portion of the forums?
  6. Single type of support beam

What if you wanted to make a cobble house? Hard to do without support beams, do you really want one, unchanging, indifferent, bland color when you could have a whole pallet of 17 possible colors to decorate the beams as? And people also use beams for reasons other than support as well. I've seen people turn beams into works of art, or even just little simple things, like a spit over a fire pit. Little things like that are what make a game beautiful.
  7. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

I don't think diamond edges tools or melting gems is anywhere near logical for this game, or easy to code, but the original post seems great. I would absolutely love to finally see an actual use for gems. At the current moment there's very little purpose to them (C'mon how many of you ACTUALLY use protection meters?) and they tend to take of valuable space with how many different kinds and qualities of gems there are, to see them get placed on a block would be great! I can add little accents to my boring stone statue, I could make a grand throne, I could decorate a floor, make a cool gem-crusted cave. There are so many uses to placing gems. I would love to see this in the game. Oh and also I think gem piles might be cool too, make a nice room filled with gold and platinum and gem piles and dive into it and swim in your wonderful trove of valuable materials. Both of these should be somewhat simple to implement. Piles are literally just a retexture on ingot piles and a copy and paste of a bit of code, gem placing would just be reusing a bit of what planks and chisels do, with it's own little flair. All and all, I love this idea.
  8. Alchemy/Chemistry- more than just metals.

TFCraft is based in rather early times to already have nuclear reactors. It took humans so long to get that kind of stuff, and even now it's not even perfected. Many of these suggestions appear way outside of TFC's time frame. I'm certain some people would love to spend several dozen hours straight trying to get all the materials and other things required to make a nuclear reactor and use is for some weird thing, like power. Some of this post is fine (super basic medicine), some of it isn't (Nuke reactors..
  9. Lead.

Alright. Thanks Kitty for clearing that up!
  10. Cats, Rabbits and other Pets

This doesn't seem like a bad idea at all. And people could have some more early game food sources, as well as a more alive wilderness. It'd be good to have pets for reasons other than murdering those around you (like wolves do…).
  11. Siege Equipment

I'm not much into the PvP aspect of things, but I think this would add an interesting impact of the way people build. I'm sure people would use these tools to attack others, at which point those who feel the need to would build structures that defend themselves so much better. As of now I've seen people with red/blue steel still living in thatch huts or holes in the ground. These tools would of course have to be quite expensive, because using such devices when you're only knapping your first axe, or forging your first copper pickaxe seems way too early, and therefor unbelievable from my point of view. If the tools of war mentioned in this topic were expensive enough, this has some of my support.
  12. Alternate recipes for fishing rod and bow.

This actually seems like a completely valid idea, one of the few I see. It's simple, yet effective, as well as it not being too overpowered. This has my full support!
  13. An Alternate Dimension

I don't exactly like the idea of an alternate dimension, but if it did have to be added, I'd have separate inventories for each world, so that one could not take items from one and bring it to another. In this way you could have your regular world, and then somehow get to your "dreamworld". The dreamworld would probably be a very easy, and somewhat impossible version of the normal world. All in all I'd have to say no to this idea in general, because though it may be fun for some people, it'd seem quite stupid to others. Also there's the fact that I'm sure much of the forum would agree with me when I say I'd rather the developers work on important game mechanics than a fantasyland.
  14. Where'd everyone go? Seems so empty now, it used to be so popular.
  15. By any chance- will you ever be picking this back up again, and updating to B77?
  16. Stalagmites, stalactite, and columns!

Simple, yet elegant. I like it! You have my support on this idea.
  17. List of new monsters

This seems really ridiculous. No, just no.
  18. Improve Cooking

I like the idea mostly, although you'd have to probably add more incentive for such the effort of making things, most people would spend an extra day working on a batch of meals that would grant a grand total of 5 minutes of speed, that would quite counterproductive (Someone could have gotten to their destination surviving off a single cow's worth of steak in the time it took to make the food). With this in mind, try to think of something much better to get out of this extra work, perhaps you could add to the many suggestions we've almost all seen about a possible nutrient system, maybe your suggestion's food could add a significant boost in nutrients, and in turn make you live much longer off of a little bit of food. Another thing to mention, a couple of those things could be seen as borderline modern, even if they are really actually ancient. It could be viewed as quite suspicious if someone walked up to another individual with a bowl of delicious noodles with tomato puree and herbs, and they both happened to be a cavemen.
  19. How about a Fantasy Fork of TFC?

An addon for this would definitely be better, I don't think the developers would have enough time to totally rework the mod into a second mod, and continue to update both the classic TFC and the fantasy TFC. I do appreciate that you didn't suggest fantasy should be added directly to the vanilla TFC though. If you pull this team together, and actually make this addon, I'm sure you will receive grand applause from both me, and those who want magic in TFC. Fortunately for you, it will not be as tough as converting a fantasy to a believable version though, because building on a concrete idea is much easier than taking away the origin foundation idea of something.
  20. Corpses, Food, and Butchering

I like the concept, although one challenge to overcome is the fact that on a server corpses could be piled up and become unmanageable. I know several people who wouldn't really care about cleaning up bodies. I've also seen just awful people walk into a farm and kill everything there, I would have no reason to want most of the meat from it, I have plenty as is, maybe the farm was specifically for milk, or wool, so of course I'd just find more animals and push the bodies aside. The same awful person could kill everyone's sheep and cows, leaving hundreds of bodies piled in random bits of the server, and it's not just that, someone could be defending their home from zombies for the night, and considering that there is absolutely no purpose for rotten flesh, few people would care to do anything with the body. Yes I do understand where you say the body would rot in a few days, but what about the person who's only source of food was just killed and they have to go for an hour, well, there's twenty minutes in a minecraft day, come back in an hour and you're too late, guy starves, so that small of a time limit would have to be tweaked to be either longer, or have some form of solution for preservation, which would in turn contribute to my total point of this paragraph so far. What I'm getting at is that it would be significantly lag-producing. If there was some way of which to lessen the lag IE making the corpse somewhat of a block, perhaps done by replacing the block under the death point with a sort of overtop sprite image of the corpse, rather than an actual entity, it would significantly lessen the lag, allow someone to hide the body by slapping a block over it, and could even server the purpose of a "nice", slightly bloody, dead animal decoration for whoever might be into that kind of thing. There is of course the problem with the fact that it could be challenging to code the identification of where the animal died, and that location telling the block beneath it to become another block (which albeit isn't much different from the block it was, mostly just retextured). And possibly that could create more lag than having entities would. I don't know. Obviously this idea just came straight out of my mind without much planning, but it could be a solution to the lag created by having an entity. Thanks for your time.
  21. Shipwright Steve

I think this would be a simply brilliant idea! I'd love to see this added to the game. With a certain level of efforts from the kind developers, as well as their support of the idea I could definitely see this happening. It is quite a problem when I end up having to walk and swim thousands of blocks to find even a single pebble after I start a new server, or die, or decide to have a new start. The ability to walk out of spawn, make a boat (Much effort required of course) and, sail away to a new untouched land would be extraordinary!
  22. Brass as a tool metal

Seeing specific uses for different metals would certainly be neat, rather than just anything makes everything. The only really unique metals are red/blue steel with their special buckets, but other than that any metal can make any tool as far as I can remember off the top of my head. I mean sure I guess one could mention blast forges and the bloomery, but those are all used in advancement rather than just miscellaneous help/fun/projects.
  23. Gems?

Making gems into tools themselves seems totally silly. Although it would be great to be able to put gems on tools and armor just to have have a purely aesthetic and unique armor or tool. It'd also be cool having them in placeable blocks similar to the way ingots work. Having mounds of gems and gold piled around my throne room would be fun. For the application of tools you could make some form of jeweler's table which you can place armor or tools onto and proceed to chisel out bits of armor and replace it with a gem of the according color to the gem type, various grades of gem could have larger size or an exquisite gem could infrequently release a sparkly particle effect. Albeit fully customizable armor would be a bit challenging to add in, a developer could much more simply make various grades of gems only placable in certain locations, for example, exquisite could be put on the front or back of a chest plate, flawless could be put on the shoulders of a chest plate, normal could be put around the shins of leggings, flawed could be put on the sides of feet, and chipped could be applied to a helmet around the top. Of course having gems on a suit of armor would weaken it slightly, due to the fact that chiseling bits would negate a bit of structural integrity. Depending on the gem it might decrease less. Putting a diamond in a suit of armor would be less likely to make it weaker than it would putting a weaker gem in.
