You get a blast furnace and add iron ore pellets into the giant furnace, but you layer the iron pellets with limestone (flux) and another matireal some times Manganese. Then the molten metal pours out kind of like in TFC but a lot different, That metal is also pounded and gets the level of carbon desired to the metal. Too much carbon in steel makes it brittle but harder, too less makes it very malleable but softer, but as a real metal worker , I dont like steel cause it sucks and I cant melt it lol. I believe I am close to being right with the steel process. You cant check out my You tube channel, Im going to start making more videos of real casting and maybe some DIY stuff.

I do real metal working Zinc. Lead , Copper, Tin, Aluminum, Bismuth, Manganese, Iron, and brass/bronze. Just like to boast ( Ive only melted lead, zinc and aluminum so far ...) 1. molten aluminum , 2. lead casting 3. molten lead, 4. aluminum bars, 5. zinc bars 6. aluminum casting gone wrong , with steam explosions ,7. molten aluminum, 8. My first Aluminum bar, 9. my First time ever melting metal (lead) and my first cast, 10 . Fresh zinc, 11. My furnace where all the magic happens.

I seriously can not think what they have in mind for lead. It wont be used for shot because well, guns will never be added. and in real life I cant find any uses for it. I melt so much of it and I don't know what to do with lead. Its toxic, soft, and heavy. all I can think of is sinkers for fishing and lead weights for diving.... but that's too in depth.... and it says on the wiki they have future plans for it... your killing me developers haha. why even add it then if its worthless? I mean maybe you have something up your sleeve that I never would of thought off but what ever it is I hope its neat and useful!!

Lead isn't as bad as its put up to be, I handle it quite frequently and I work with it a lot. Environmentalists get all hyped up on mercury, and lead. you can handle lead but if you touched some everyday and licked your hands ( i don't know why you would) you would get poisoning. It doesn't have instant effects like zinc would, more of long term effects such as lung cancer , reproductive system failure, and brain disorders. and mercury makes you go crazy btw... lol

But isnt lead toxic? just touching it can cause harm. I wear a gas mask and thick leather gloves when I work with lead. but I don't know much about lead pipes, all I know is that they were used in Rome for water.

I did this post a few months ago on my old account and I was NOT very clear on what my intentions were for the suggestion. I mean you COULD just smash the area where the blade is supposed to be and...smash out a blade with the hammer? It would be sharpish and kinda rugged but not very durable. It wouldn't last a long time. So my idea is you cant grid tool blades for soft metals like Copper, Bismuth Bronze, Black Bronze, Bronze, or Rose Gold.You can grid tool blades for: Wrought Iron, Nickelif you made it to where you could make tool heads,all the kinds of steel and if they ever think about it manganese because it is grind able. having a grind pedestal would be like a luxury tool to make your bladed weapons/tools more efficient and more powerful maybe even prolong their durability.well tell me what you guys think. good or bad. My dream would to play multiplier with tons of people, make to cites and just fight each other just for the fun of it. stealing,spying, building, making economies, fighting...etc but you see the game is still in beta you have to take that into consideration. so its not that close to being done. there's still a lot to wait for and yes single player gets boring very quickly, and its hard to find good TFC servers too but I found one and I'm happy:) but like srgnoodles said there is no goal YOU make your OWN goal. sometimes you just gotta pretend lol

I like this I was hoping jeb would do it for minecraft but he was lazy and made weather stupid. now a lot of people are gonna give you crap on saying " this is realistic bah blah blah not believable" but that's bullshit. Id love to have this in TFC. it would amplify the environment tremulously! I find this very believable! Thumbs up to you my good sir!

I just stopped reading this topic. play the game for a few months and THEN make some suggestions. Its like a critic watching a movie half way and then critiquing it.

I knew this was bad just looking at it. no offense, its cool, but its just to drastic and unbelievable. refining uranium ore is very hard. maybe for a vanilla mod buddy.

well buddy I like your sarcasm but i'm well aware that the mod isn't just metal working I was simply pointing out something I do as a hobby that relates to the mod. So don't just come to my post and be negative. If you have nothing nice to say. say nothing at all. Unless its a really dumb suggestion, like npc's.... that's something dumb.

sounds cool and awesome but sounds more like a regular minecraft mod to me, but eh I don't know I don't like it but ten I do. if it was implemented i think it would open a door of magic into the game and that would make me un-happy. magic doesn't belong in TFC.

You do know magnesium is a alkali earth metal and it once it catches fire it burns so bright you cant even look at it? plus you cant just find magnesium, its an unstable metal and in an average environment. It has to be refined I find this pointless haha but look at me and my pointless suggestions ....>.>

I noticed when I placed a Tin bar on the ground it had a bluish tint to it and When I placed a zinc one, it was silvery white. This is false It should be the other way around. I would put pictures up but there too big.

I have tin and zinc with me right now, and I can tell them apart. Tin is silvery, zinc has a small blue/light grey to it. but yes they look very much alike.

No I don't smelt from the ore but I can I do have some copper ore I need to go through. its pretty easy to ind ore in a river when you go camping or hiking. and I hope to make a living off this its really fun to recreate almost any kind of object...almost, and Ive been doing this since February. TFC really sparked my interest. minecraft itself got me going. Ive always had a passion for this. Thanks for the feedback though!
