      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Alloy Calculator

I got frustrated when i tried to make some alloys and messed the calculations so i made this. You fill in the amount of metals and ores you put in the alloy and it gives you the output in ingots. you can put either Nuggets/Poor ores/Normal/Rich and whole ingots. the Alloy maker shows you what ingots will output and how much spare metal in TFC units will be left put your mouse over certain cells for more info requires Microsoft Excel (dont know what version) Download from dropbox Like and bump this post if you enjoyed so others could use it too! PM me for any corrections or bugs If you find any online excel file viewer that is compatible post below so people with out MS excel can enjoy.
  2. Alloy Calculator

It is factored in this calculator!, you can put in the table the number of whatever size ore you wanna put it, it calculates automatically
  3. Alloy Calculator

There's the main table ore/units To use it type in the number of pieces of ore you put into the alloy in the correct place (type of ore and size) The calculations are locked and are automatic, you can only change the values of the ores in the main table and the adv. Alloys table. The output is automatic I'll only be able to make any fixes tomorrow when I get back home :-| I'll probably make the file unlocked (not sure why thought that's a good idea)
  4. Alloy Calculator

But the dropbox download works? did you try it and it worked?
  5. more uses for leather

In my opinion , leather , which was one of the most commonly used materials back at ye oldie days is very mistreated in TFC. Water skin - crafted with leather making, used to hold perhaps twice as much water as a water jug Armors - one of the things that really bothered me even since early on Tfc days is that you don't need leather when crafting a metal armor, leather and cloth and even wool is essential for armor. Leather is always used as the base of any armor to connect all of the metal plates together and give them flexibility , cloth was used to give comfort and decorations and wool was used for warmth Leather pouches- perhaps like a clay vessel but holds a bit more, or one time build that expands your inventory Leather strips were added to tool handles for comfort use. Perhaps instead of putting chests on your donkey or mule, in tfc you will have to use leather pouches Or bags which just seems for realistic for me Although alot uses of leather are either not quite needed or some already implemented in tfc, I think just because leather was so widely used , the uses I noted above that can be implemented otter be implemented. http://www.mobileleatherservice.com/leatherhistory.html
  6. Animal carcasses

The problem: as for now in the game killing an animal could become a burden because of inventory space. The solution: "Animal carcass" item In detail: Any animal on death would drop one Item only - Animal carcass, crafting the animal carcass with a knife will give off the raw hide and a "Skinned carcass" item holding the sum of meat it would normally drop. Then each time crafting that item with a knife will give off one piece of meat(160oz ) one at a time, taking the meat from the carcass item. cut the pieces of meat to store and preserve as the carcasses are too big to be put in a chest. Also carcasses should decay much faster(day or two) than the clean meat pieces because all of the impurities of the animal(organs and such). At last after cutting the last piece of meat you will be left with the bones. In addition: Crafting a skinned animal between two sticks diagonally will give skewered animal item, right clicking that over a lighten campfire will place it above it for a slow roast, after the meat is ready ( changed its color from red to brown or something) right click with a knife on it, it will drop off one piece of roasted meat at a time,it could either be another new food item to add more diversity to the food system such as "Roasted beef/pork/vension" or just normal cooked meat) Other branches: Animal carcasses opens a lot of possible crafting branches such as taxidermy, crafting a bear carcas into a nice rug for your wood cabin, or crafting hunting wall trophys (heads) to hang on the wall. Perhaps even replacing the current meat cooking, I mean, throwing a piece of steak into a forge or a campfire with out some clay pot would surely charr it. Why not make roasting meat with a skewer the only way to cook meat until you get a clay pot to cook it with. Pros: -adds certain realism to the hunting game. -doesn't wastes any drops you can't pick up because of inventory space -not op because you can't store whole carcasses in chests and decay faster -players need to put a bit more work into the meat -adds more diversity in cooking (optinal roasted meat) Cons: -more time into making food -you'd be able to return from one hunt with a buttload full of meat (although that con kinda cancels out because the carcasses decay faster, it would be a waste getting many at once) With all the thanks, Yawooza. Published from my smartphone.
  7. Since the game already supports different kinds of sand, why not have the glass form in different colors depending on the sand type, give the glass a bit more natural colors.
  8. Grass colour change across biomes?

As far as my understanding the grass color is determined by the type of rock consisting the upper layer, in my opinion it would be a great idea to have the texture of the grass be changed from biome to biome while still having the color depending on the rock layer
  9. Use for high carbon steel

There are a lot more techniques that could be added to metalworking of tools and armors even before the advanced use of hc steel. Things like using leather in tool handles and in armor, sharpening tools, etc
  10. Animal carcasses

Perhaps, hanging the meat in a closed room, let's say minimum of 3x3x3, with a lighten campfire. After an Ingame day or so will give off smoked meat which should preserve for long periods of time. Whole Animal carcasses FTW. Ps. If for some the word Carcasses sounds too harsh to the ear, another item name that could be used is "Whole cow/pig/deer" and then "Skinned cow. Etc,"
  11. Animal carcasses

I didn't mean there should be any actual gut item or any of that, skinning the animal and then cutting pieces of meat one by one signifies as the gutting process and still I think serves the purpose of it in tfc right without having any "unplatables"
  12. Animal carcasses

This could work with chickens too only that crafting a raw chicken carcass with a knife will give feathers.
  13. Annoying bug

when placing glass blocks next to each other you can still see the sides through them, its kinda annoying
  14. Few well thought ideas

Thanks for the feedback, convinced me on most aspects, the idea of sculpturing is always in mind with the chisel, my idea was having such ingame built sculptures, some thing abit more linear and relaxing than holding a chisel infront of a pile of marble, with mindblowing options.
  15. Few well thought ideas

The Ideas are ordered depending on how much thought i put into each one, and how much i think each one is fitted enough to join the game and how important it is to the game. -Significance of Rain- Before the modern age, life were extremely depended on rain, although most minecraft players probably hate and cuss the rain, but i think giving it more significance in TFC will add greatly to the game. Farming more depended on rain at early stage, later using hoes and shovels or planks to make watering canals for water to run from a near by water source to the crops. using water holes to collect rainfall, or putting empty containers outside on the ground hoping for some rain to drink. or building watering trough for your livestock (there are records of watering troughs back from the old bible days). Water = Life -Turkeys, Ostrich and eagles- More wildlife has probably been shouted out a million and one times at you coders. I just wanted to note that I have had a few games were i could not progress because the only source of feathers are chickens and they are to be found only in 2 types of biomes in the world (Temperate Forest and jungles). Turkeys in some forest or hills, Eagles on some cliff or mountain, and ostrich running in the plain. Besides, Livestock came on very late stage of our so called "Stone age" , hunting game was for the most part, the only source of meat. -Knowledge is power- Having the ability to store knowledge in game, except saving a lot of going back forth to the wiki page, will look nice and smooth, having a recipe book (perhaps crafting Book+Bowl) to keep track of meal recipes by placing the meal into the book and saving the ingredients to the book. or having a metallurgy book (maybe Book+empty mold) to keep track of alloy concentrates and metals working and melting temperature, or Agricultural books and chemistry books. any of the books not showing new knowledge, but only keeping records of such you have already discovered in game. - Culture - Despite it could be a big and frightening idea, i think implementing certain cultural items into the game would add another great aspect and motive to the game, ofcourse progressing with chronicle order as your game progresses, from cave drawings of animals, to making totems and camp fire stone circles,Certain wood or rock carvings with chisel, ceremonial masks to decorative drums. this would add a great creative side and interesting , fun-to-try aspect in the game. (very similar to alcohol at this stage of the game) +++Bonus Fact+++ There are cave drawings drawn by hunters, explaining animals weak spots as far as 40,000 years ago!+++Bonus Fact+++ -More "Placeables" - having the option to place items in world is a great add of depth to the game, adding the possibility to place leathers on walls or racks, placing buckets outside to catch some rainfall, maybe placing a plate of hot meal on a table, all those things add extra depth to the game -Fixable tools- Obviously, even today, when your best available tool breaks, your first option is probably to try and fix it, Tools were never "One use", the ability to "patch" tools would add certain realism to the game, and a great amount of play-ability. Not making tools last for ever, but patch them at certain amount of times to extend the durability just a bit longer. -Culture II - Perhaps a bit less important to the game, but as you might know, our cave-fellows believed the drawing of animals, and totems of abundant, and ceremonies before going out to war, gave them mystical powers, so i see it as a possibility to give certain cultural items certain perks, for example: drawing animals paintings on caves will give some hunting boost, or Totems giving crop boost to near by crops. I will appreciate any comments to the ideas greatly and open discussions about them, as a player who played quite a lot of TFC and loves it i find these ideas very appealing to the game. Hope you enjoyed reading
  16. Few well thought ideas

Of-course, I don't mean making any industrial farms, I'm talking about the first farms, netted with water canals that were dug down hill from a water source, having a the option perhaps to build a simple canal system with few planks and fill it with water buckets to water the crops. The term Modern is very relative, everything today is relatively modern to yesterday. So are you talking Bronze age modern, The Ancient Rome modern, or Middle ages modern, very Modern times, yet differed by decades.
  17. Few well thought ideas

    Thank you
  18. Just some bunch of ideas -Knife and Scythe knife being be a tool for gathering, things such as fruits, or if future planned, getting the leather off and meat parts off a dead animal. and please make the Sycthe harvest a 3x3 or a 5x5 wheat area. -Cooking overhaul, I'm not gonna write down my entire concept for this as I'm sure there's a thousand of these in this forum, rather going to suggest more uses for fruits, making jams, then slap it on some bread, would be priceless. -Glass overhaul, i know you (Bioxx) mentioned that you have it on the back of your mind, the way i see it is that should have a blow pipe tool, when right clicked crafting Gui interface opens maybe, then put in heated glass above certain temp, if going with the 5x5 crafting table then maybe when heating a glass block to melting point it would yield 16 molten glass chunks to craft with -Trees, When cutting down a tree some of the leaves left on it should fall to the ground, as in gravity fall, it would make a nice realistic mess when cutting trees, also when cutting a tree above the trunk, it should, over a long period, grow saplings off its sides, trees do that. -Wood craft, A great functionality of that saw would be if it could be used in the same matter as the hammer and chisel, as in making stairs and slabs out of planks, that way you could have all the wood colored stairs and slabs - Mythical tool plans, A very rare drop from mobs, a one time use plan for a super unique tool, when crafted perhaps using gems, or forged with several mixes of precious metals, a tool all glowy with enchantments -Stone pillars, If at all possible, Stone pillars are built in the world with stone bricks and a chisel, placing the first brick block, then carving one slab out of each side, then place a block on top of it and carve 2 times out of the sides, do the same to any block on top that, and then to finish the pillar, place another block and carve only 1 time out of each side, would act in a similar matter to Vertical and horizontal beams, to give the same support, only without the need of the horizontal beams Pillars as i made here - -More woodcraft, First take any metal and craft some nails, then when having nails, hammer and a saw in the tool bar, could switch crafting modes with the saw, similar to the chisel, only switching between modes such as - build chest, build table, build chair, build boat, build crafting table, bookshelf etc, now, after you've chosen the piece of furniture you would like, clicking on the planks block would craft the furniture in that place, that way instead of using all the planks, you only need some nails and 1 plank block per piece of furniture, seems bit more civilized to me Hope you enjoyed my suggestions
  19. Praises and Ideas to the mod

Hi! Since i got this mod about 3 days ago my head has been exploding with praises and ideas for it, To Bioxx, I hope you read this and get inspired by some of my ideas just as much as your mod inspired me First of all: Praises -The mining/forging system is incredibly complex and challenging, I've never had so much fun mining in Vanila minecraft -The entire wood crafting system is great! -Realism is adding so much to the game -Mod full of wonderful content and so much more potential To make things easier i broke down my ideas into 4 categories: Realism, Gameplay, Bugs/Tweaks: Realism -Cutting down a tree should make some small % of the Leaves fall from the tree (as in Minecraft gravity fall), Cutting a tree in real must leave a mess -Cutting a tree from above the first trunk block should let tree grow saplings around it after a while same as in real life, if you cut a tree and leave the roots plus the trunk it will start regrowing saplings from its sides after a while -Dropping heated items into water should instantly cool them, this should also be an important stage in crafting metal tools esp. Steel, same as it is in real life -- Probably obvious but dropping liquid metals should have them lost -In case that a Cobblestone block falls (via gravity/cave in) on any type of furniture (Crafting table,Bed,Chests, etc) it should break the furniture into some planks/sticks/whatever materials it was made out of -Crops growth , even if having a water source block near by, should still be limited by rain, Dry seasons/years would add a great challenging and realistic aspect to the game -Dirt covering a charcoal firepit should not grow into grass, but rather turn into darker dirt because of the smoke (also the grass makes the dirt piles look funny) -"Naturally" spawning flints look rather very unnatural, Adding any sort of random factor to it would add alot to aesthetics - Shape, Size, Orientation Anything~ -Dropping heated items on snow blocks should melt the snow block it landed on Gameplay -Breaking Dead bushes (found in deserts) should yield sticks -Combing Tool plans with books and some ink on a scribing table should get you higher tier tool plans -Placing coal/charcoal on the ground will make coal piles, which then could be shoveled into a bloomery more easily rather climbing to the top of it and dropping the coal pieces one by one -A "Gentle Touch" enchantment for pickaxes - reduces chances for cave ins -Wheat stacks -Randomly generated hidden treasure chests containing precious gems and Legendary tool plans *Legendary tool plans - Plans for some Mythical tools *Mobs should have a super rare chance to drop these Legendary plans and some rare gem stones -Crafting wheat together with some planks should get a Chicken nest, A near by chicken will call it home and lay her eggs in it, these eggs could be gathered or left to hatch after a while -Swimming while wearing certain types of metal armor should make the armor lose durability -More types of food/cooking would add a great deal of fun - Boiled eggs, soups, pies any thing will be better than the same old boring Pork chops and beef diet Bugs/Tweaks -Sugar canes are Really hard to find in some seeds (Didn't find a single sugar cane in a 2000x2000 blocks range) -Cutting down Sequoia trees some times causes the game to Save Chunks and then force close -Not sure if its a bug or just success rate --> some times when trying to weld 2 items even if at the right temp, takes more than a few clicks on the weld button To Bioxx, I hope you read through this and be inspired by some of my ideas just as much as your mod inspired me.
  20. Praises and Ideas to the mod

Ahh yeah i can understand, though this is my first day on this forum and i my 3rd day on this mod and i just had to shoot out my ideas, ill make sure to get updated on the forums debates asap. as for the Mythical plans just throwing out how i imagined the idea, the Mythical tools should be crafted in multi-stages including stages which require gems probably, and i think should have specific built in enchantments And as for moving this thread, like i said, i just had to shoot my ideas before i forget them so i posted this before dwelling any interest in the forums
  21. Praises and Ideas to the mod

I dont think any of these ideas are any more daring in realism than the mod is already is, they would add great aspects for the game realism but nothing too game changing
