      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Bibliocraft Addon

Another update (18 January 2015) from the Bibliocraft author on the official MC forums:
  2. I am missing reasons to build a shelter

How many times do you guys start a brand new world anyways? Or log into a new multiplayer server? I only ever commit to one seed per TFC version (b78, b79, etc.) and make it something pretty. If there are no new features, I totally understand starting new worlds is too much of a chore (esp. on single player).
  3. I find the essential patch of clay. Then dig under it since clay blocks do not obey gravity.
  4. I am missing reasons to build a shelter

A shelter will be important sooner or later. If not for creative builds, you will need different rooms such as a smithy and a kitchen. It's great how this mod makes rooms actually useful. Body temperature will be implemented at some point in the future, but for now i think the focus will shift towards an update for MC 1.8.x
  5. Many of those item textures could be lighter... The tools are nearly black (see also my screenshot).
  6. [Vanilla Bug] The great cow escape!

To me, this problem feels less severe in 1.7.10 than in 1.6.4. However, I don't know if Mojang are working on it or not.
  7. Maybe starting a new world would be best. But i'm still surprised how purple the gabbro is in that photograph. Gabbro in most google images do not show it.
  8. I was really excited about this texture pack in the beginning and from the screenshots on the first page. However, what i get is not really satisfying. Maybe because purple is not my favourite color? Of course, your mileage may vary... but still.. Vanilla below:
  9. Progressing and black bronze

Wow, z = -13,400 is a very cold place! You wont find fruit trees here. You have to go south a few 1000 blocks. Just make one of the bronze alloys you have most ores of (though all need copper). Upgrade to a bloomery to make wrought iron when you're feeling comfortable. I'm at the wrought iron stage for a long time now. I might go to steel eventually but there is no real incentive. One playthrough i went all the way to blue/red steel for personal achievement. It was a massive timesink with little reward in single player, so i'm not inclined to do it again.
  10. No-Frost Limit?

Surely near the equator (low z values) there can never be frost.
  11. 1.7.10 mods with TFCb79

Two screenshots to show that EP3 integrates quite well with TFC because the portals can be decorated with TFC blocks. I'm using the Summerfields texture pack. Base of mountain Top of mountain
  12. 1.7.10 mods with TFCb79

Just letting people know that the awesome mod: Enhanced Portals 3 works with TFC. I mean to say, cheat in a few building blocks and the wrench, edit the config file to set the power requirement off, and it works! No crashes and instant teleportation to any part of your massive TFC world (but you must travel to a location first to build the connecting portal). Unrealistic? Maybe! But who cares. A Stargate was used in Ancient Egypt after all
  13. What is TFC?

Err... What? If you're talking about TFC being too forgiving and resource gathering too easy, i have to disagree with you. That, or you were extremely lucky in picking a bountiful seed. Try surviving near the pole or the equator next playthrough xD
  14. As the title suggests. Most blocks are now see-through with Optifine installed alongside latest forge and tfc. Perhaps someone else could verify this.
  15. Block Heads [0.79]

The ores in this texture pack are some of the best. However, seems that they now cover the whole block face from all directions. This really makes the blocky nature of minecraft stand out, which i do not like...Can we have the smaller ore patches back?
  16. TFC is missing a goal

Maybe more achievements give the feeling there is more to TFC? Other than that, i see little difference in end-game compared to vanilla MC.
  17. Merry Christmas!

Merry X-mas! And winter has come to Europe!
  18. A use for Galena

Stone-age Romeo Steve doesn't know lead causes problems
  19. A use for Galena

This discussion only exists because the devs haven't decided (yet) to remove this useless ore from the game. There were more unused ores before and they got removed, so i'm not sure why some are still present...
  20. A few things that bother me

Maybe TFC has more ravines that break the surface. Other than that, vanilla MC also has a lot of ravines in my opinion.
  21. [0.79.?] Fix Shaders for Terrafirmacraft Water

Water shaders have changed IDs again. They are now: 438, 439, 440, 441, 442, 443 as of TFC v79.13 Since i bought a new rig with a nvidia geforce gtx 980 card, i can get some sick SEUS Ultra shaders going at a ridiculous resolution of 2715 x 1527 and a chunk distance of 16. My fps at these settings is around 25. Three screenshots for those who need proof.. he he One Two Three EDIT: OK i dont know what is going on but the water IDs now start from 426 onwards.
  22. New videos out. I love how Bdubs is derping around. First impressions are classic!
  23. I don't think they are using a mod-pack per se. More like a small collection of mods you can find listed on the forums here. The quest guide GenerikB made looks like a rudimentary attempt, but could be improved upon if he decides to release it.
  24. New to mod graphical issues?

You are using shaders? (SEUS?). Of course, that will cause flickering of graphics. You should not use shaders in this case.
  25. New to mod graphical issues?

A few points: Try disabling 'Threaded Optimisation' in your nvidia control panel. This should be disabled when running Optifine as well. I don't understand why you think installing minecraft with TFC on another drive should make any difference. A different directory is enough. On my new system, similar to yours, i cannot allocate more memory to minecraft in the original launcher. I don't know why, but the java arguments are ignored and i had to find a workaround. Check if you can allocate at least 2GB to java to run minecraft with TFC.
