      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Another server crash problem

You need to change the version back to the correct one. And why would you use forge universal? Just download the forge installer and select Server instead of Client. (unless the installer just installs the universal one... which would be funny since I never bothered to check)
  2. Not nesicarily true. If his computer has for instance an AGP slot then the video card that he buys will NOT be useable in a new computer. Considering that PCIe didn't come out until his Computer was 4 years old that's probably what he is dealing with. Besides, any VC that is compatible with a really old computer probably won't be supported by the newer OSes and such.
  3. Truer words were never spoken. This is the bloody internet, the homeland of ambiguity. We can't help if we don't know what we are helping about. It's like calling a Mechanic and telling him " I want my vehicle to work better " but you won't tell him what it is or anything else about it.
  4. MC immediately crashes or doesn't load FML or TFC

Why not try the Vanilla launcher? It is super easy, just follow the instructions on the downloads page.
  5. Respawn with low health, same nutrients

It would appear that I am incorrect. Strange, I was under the impression that you lost your skills when you died... Sorry. I could have sworn that it was stated when they were added that skills reset on death. I'll have to keep looking until I find what made me think that. -Edit- Turns out I was incorrect about skills resetting on death. There is no place on the forums where it is stated that this should happen. It was my mistake.
  6. Respawn with low health, same nutrients

Considering that you loose all of your skill progress when you die, I believe there is already sufficient motivation to not kill yourself. If people want to loose all of their progress for a little food that is their choice. If you do not want to be an illogical person, and you choose that killing yourself and loosing all of your progress is not worth the little nutrition you gain, that is also your choice. I choose life. Therefore I see no utility in spending time to change something that really makes no difference to a person who does not use it. I do not understand why you would take the time to suggest such a change since it will not cause a change in your gaming experience. Perhaps the temptation is too great? Having full nutrients is actually kind of a nice thing since it could give you a slight chance of retrieving some of the belongings that you lost when you died. If you had severely reduced nutrition it would be very unlikely that any attempt to do so would result in anything more than repeating your demise. Here is my conclusion. I do not agree that this needs to be changed. What business is it of yours to dictate how someone else is allowed to play the game? You have already stated that you do not resort to suicide for such a silly reason, so if this suggestion is implemented it will have zero effect on your gaming experience and would in essence be a waste of time. It also has the potential to alienate some people who may play the game in a different way than you or I. I would rather have the Developers spend their valuable time implementing something new and more important. e.g. Body Temperature.
  7. Some observations of how people play

There IS an option in the config files to change decay rate. There has been one ever since decay was implemented. Here is a quote of the option in the config. "food decay" { # This is a global multiplier for food decay. Unlike FoodDecayRate which only modifies the base decay and not the environmental effect upon decay, this multiplier will multiply against the entire amount. Set to 0 to turn decay off. D:FoodDecayMultiplier=1.0 # This number causes base decay to equal 50% gain per day. If you wish to change, I recommend you look up a y-root calculator 1.0170378966055869517978300569768^24 = 1.5 D:FoodDecayRate=1.0170378966055869
  8. Clay Bricks

There are already Mud Bricks for the different stone types in the game. I can't figure out how to use them or what they are for just yet, but they are there. Perhaps these are to be used as you have suggested.
  9. [Solved][79.9] NEI knapping dupe bug

... Just so you know... you are SUPPOSED to get two molds from the clay mold recipe... That's how it has always worked.
  10. C̶o̶t̶t̶o̶n̶ Flax (thanks hector)

    Happy to help.
  11. C̶o̶t̶t̶o̶n̶ Flax (thanks hector)

While Cotton sounds like a nice idea at first, Linen would be more appropriate. Until the Invention of the Cotton Gin by Eli Whitney cotton was very expensive to produce. The reason for the expense is because cotton is full of tiny seeds that must be removed before the cotton can be used. This process is VERY labor intensive and would not be my first choice for a fiber to process by hand. Once it is processed it is a pain to spin because it tends to have a very short fiber length. Linen on the other hand could be processed the same way that jute is ALREADY processed, by soaking and beating. Since it is a stalk there are no seeds to remove and the fibers are much longer and simpler to spin. The reason that Linen is more expensive right now than cotton is because of modern technology. The production of textiles from cotton has been completely mechanized and therefore is much quicker and requires fewer workers, lowering cost. Linen is more difficult to mechanize because the very process of rendering the fibers useful is now sadly more difficult than running a bunch of cotton through a gin. To sum up, I believe Linen to be much more practical and appropriate to the theme of TFC than cotton. It would also be MUCH easier to implement because the fiber can be produced through the barrel soaking method exactly as jute fibers are already produced.
  12. [Solved] Reusable powder kegs

    Unfortunate but true.
  13. Thanks for new fixes and tweaks!

If you refer to the increased chance of a cave in, you do know that you can change it to whatever you like in the Config, right?
  14. [Solved] Calendar seems off

You must have missed that Server time passes MUCH slower when there is no one logged into it. (I think 1000 times slower?) That would likely be the reason for the apparent inconsistency.
  15. [READ CHANGELOG] How to make mortar?

That's because it's out of date, as the yellow box at the top of every page says. If you read the 79.0 change log you will find the answer. (hint Tweaks)
  16. Ceramic bowls - another tedium

heehehe, It would only take me one bowl to figure out that beating them with a rock won't clean them. I think it would make the most sense to have a chance of breaking them the SAME as for Water Jugs. (with an option in the config to customize your experience.)
  17. Ceramic bowls - another tedium

Good question, I was wondering the same thing. Personally I don't think I could ever be hungry enough to eat a piece of Stoneware. It is not very believable and is much more expensive than old bowls used to be. (each bowl requires 8 times more wood to make than previously, not to mention non-renewable clay)
  18. I am pretty sure that you need to have a high farming skill to see nutrient levels as of B79+
  19. Charcoal Pit

Yes they did, it's in the change log for 79.0.
  20. [Intentional] Fishing Problems

Have you ever fished IRL? That's sort of how it works... that's why sport fishing is fun, because it is a challenge.
  21. Meat in vessels

I cooked some Pork and it won't fit in a ceramic vessel, is this a new feature? I just read the change log again and did not see anything mentioning that cooked meat will no longer fit in a ceramic vessel. I guess it could make sense that 160 oz of meat would not fit through the hole in the top or be retrievable later, but I don't see anywhere that the change is stated. If this is a bug I'll file a report on it.
  22. How to make bowls?

    x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x o x x x o x o o o x Like that.
  23. Meat in vessels

Okay, will do. Thanks kitty, I must have missed the memo about sizes being dependent on the quantity of foods.
  24. Supporte Beam - help please

You really should read the change log. Or the forums. Posted this morning: http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/6936-unable-to-craft-horizontal-beams/ Form the Change log. Condensed support beams into a single item and totally rewrote how they are placed in the world. Horizontal beams can only be placed between two vertical beams and can not be placed individually anymore. If any horizontal block breaks, the entire beam will break causing the ceiling to lose support. The changes to rock were made to encourage the use of these blocks more.
  25. They used to spawn occasionally in the world also. I don't know if they still do.
