ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

If you found enough for a pick and prospectors pick, the saw should be easy. You know where you got the small ores from right? Use the pick and prospectors pick in that same area to dig up regular ores and make a saw.

The mod works in single player, but the game mechanics are designed for server play.

They don't have time to make it single player friendly which has been an issue longer than realism vs believability, I doubt they will have time for this.

First post in this forum is a list of known bugs.... this is in there and has been (hopefully) fixed in the next release.

Are current worlds going to be compatible with 78? I found a 2x4 Sequoia and would like to reap the rewards from it without crashing.

I always wondered about this. I wasn't sure if it took an average temp/rain etc for the region first or if it went by the current state of the chunk. Very nice to know, it will help a lot.

Cassiterite spawns in other rocks types besides granite, you just need to dig down to the 2nd and 3rd layers to find it. If granite were more common as a surface rock, people would just skip copper tools and go straight to bronze.

I attempted to get around the crash by using a scythe on the leaves before chopping the tree down, but all it did was make the whole tree disappear from the scythe point upwards... logs, leaves and all went poof...but no error.

Pumpkin Seeds will breed chickens for now unless that is turned off on your server, in which case it is your admins issue, not TFC. Chicken eggs are a different story.

Doesn't the game unload chunks when no players are on? Could you use that feature to see if no chunks are loaded, stop tick progression?

Any rough ETA for 78 or can we get a .22 in the meantime to hold us over? Looks like a lot of fixes waiting to be released.

Bismuth is not a tool metal. It is an alloy metal. You mix it with other metals to make the higher tier tool metals.

I used Fragnet a while back so things might have changed but from what I remember, you must rename your jar file to match the one selected in the panel. It was something like ForgeMod.jar I think.

Is it covered? Forges must have open access to the sky either directly above or one block over via a chimney.

You can't smooth from the bottom. I think it was because of cave-in exploit.

Zinc, Tin and Bismuth are no longer able to be used for tools. They are now only used for alloys. You need copper or higher for tools.

Are you using the proper anvil for the metal? If the metal is higher tier than the anvil, the recipe will not show up. For instance, if you try to work a steel ingot on a bronze anvil, you will not see any instructions.

Are you on the latest version? This was fixed in 77.20 I believe. also, once you update you will need to generate new land. The old trees will still have no leaves on them.

Not sure if this was part of your troubleshooting but try a fresh TFC install with no mods AND generate a fresh world with that same seed, then go to the location and see if you have the same issue. If you used the saved map from when you had mods, it could still be something generated by those mods that is causing the issue.

Yes, I know that, but this is on a fresh install and fresh world gen with no edits. Besides, it would be all cows if this were the case, not random ones.

Put the REI zip file that you download into your mods folder. Optifine is quite a bit more complicated than that and seems to not work for some people. -
Sluice covers 200x200 area so you really only need to put a new sluice every 200 blocks.
