      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Waterfalls

Not sure if this has been changed but flowing water freezes into a new water block in the winter. I made some water falls on a map and after winter came and left there was just a mess of water everywere. So much of a mess that I had to /gamemode to clean it up. I havnt tested this on b79 though Its a good way to make lakes bigger without water buckets though.
  2. Hotfix #: 78.3 Suggested Name:Double copper ingots on stone anvil disappearing Suggested Category: Severe Description:Succseffuly made 3 copper double ingots on the stone anvil "granite". Then after that on the wield combine they would disappear. Had a friend try who was on the server and same result. We made another and still same result. Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?:Both ondifferentcomps and locations. This is on a server. "insaneJ's"http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/5313-mcpc-player-inventory-does-not-update-after-death/ Reported to J also. Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report:
  3. Just a thought

No pun intended, just a thought, Being terrafirmacraft shuns technological items, couldn't it be also known as AMISH CRAFT?!?
  4. The reply time is just fantastic tonight, thank you Kitty. It doesn't come out like the invisible knives did in 77.10. It is just gone. I'm just trying every angel no narrow the possibility's. I'll link this topic to our admin so he cans see what he can do on his side.
  5. I tried using different raw stones and still got the same effect. Also tried breaking one to see if it would come out with the flux, hammer and double ingot but just the flux and hammer came back. I will try tomorrow if it works again after the server resets because we did get three successful double ingots then the anvils got hungry. We did have flux in the right slot as well with a stone hammer. That is all I can provide with the info I have atm unless you have a question on something I missed to check.
  6. They were single ingots into a double ingot. At first I thought it was the invisible issue and I also logged in and out to see if they would render back but no avail.
  7. Just a thought

  8. I myself am not a fan of teleporting. In short it really takes away from the experience of the whole game. But, 60% of the time someone new comes on a server, they ask if there is tp, If you say no , 30% of the time peeps log out and never return. With TFC, if the spawn is localized then you have the leaves and rocks situation were few are gonna want to walk a day or two before they find any. Being able to TP to towns and back does have its advantages like seeing what your friend built last night without having to plan a vacation to see one chunk of awesomeness and so forth. But on the other hand it's nice to look at a map and see roads going from town to town. It really shows player dedication and effort for a server. Having tp influences a large player base and some could use the classic MC line, "if you don't like it, don't use it". I have built a nice long road with the help of warrior from my place to bluedell, I didn't have too because I could just tp, but I like the endorphans flowing threw my brain when I look at it and remember the experience doing it, the hardships and joys. In fact Warroir and I built a better friendship doing so. I am sure most of us play terrafirmacraft for the challenge vanilla abandoned and I have noticed a much better player base on TFC than any other minecraft instance. In short It all comes down to the server owner and the juggling act of trieing to please everyone. In which you can't. J is a very flexible guy and possibly the best server owner I've come across in MC but not having TP on a public server will severely deture allot of the will for weekend warriors to play. Teleporting from town town and back I can deal with personally, but making a /home anywhere should be avoided to keep TFC on par with the challenge the Mod is known for. Ill leave this with a saying from an old wise man,"take everything in moderation, even moderation".
  9. I would like to just add something I have noticed. I had a privet server on the .10 build. On that server only legs were getting the brunt of the damage for all three players that were on that server. Now on the public server, were I spend most of my time which happens to be the same as Kacey's and is the .22 build, the chest piece gets the brunt of the damage. I was under the assumption that, "hit locality" , varied from seed to seed like food recipes. Did you guys tweek the damage distribution from .10 to .22. because it seems to be seed based on were mobs hit you otherwise.
  10. J Is going to do another server tour this weekend, quote: "This weekend I'd like to do another server tour and I would like some of the regulars to participate if they're up for it. My plan is to be on the server on Sunday 2nd of March at around 19:00CET. Could you please see and ask around if people would be interested in showing off their builds? They'd have to get on TeamSpeak for that. They can talk a little bit about what they've done so far, what current projects are and about their plans for the future. They can talk about anything interesting they like. Fun moments, epic failures, anything they like. I'll then go from village to village and give the players some time to become famous on YouTube" There are allot ofinterestingcreations and unique builds from what I've seen and one of the best things about TFC IMO; is that you really can put your ownpersonal touch with the chisel and planks. You can also check the forums athttp://happydiggers.net/forumdisplay.php?29-TerraFirmaCraft-Server
  11. I'm just wondering if you guys have any plans or are able to make it to were the seasons don't change if no one is online on a server. This is what kinda bugs me about multiplay: In single player food is an actually concern and needs to be tended to. But on multiplay even if everyone is offline time still passes by and food grows and seasons change while no one is to witness it. Also there is no need to rotate crops because they have the time to grow in the players absence. It almost makes farming a passivecommodity.
  12. I think it would be a great addition to be able to make a smoke house of sorts to smoke fish , beef and other critters. Maybe have a effect for smoked food like repaired meals do. Also It would be really interesting if we could set up trap lines, they could work somewhat like a sluice but rather than feeding it, it has a chance to catch a random critter to eat or a hide.
  13. I have read that temperature will be having an effect on players in the future. It would be nice if we could take cinnabar and cook it down to get mercury in the crucible with a small return of mercury per cinnabar. Then use glass and the Mercury to craft a thermometer to give a visual aid to what the current temp is without hitting f3. Also if the red stone tech ever evolves mercury switches could be made you know, to heat up the outdoor hot tub on those cold winter nights.
  14. Finite liquid?

Yeah I had a feeling finite water would end up being a bit to much since terrafirma as it is is a resource intensive mod. I seen someone comment about getting salt from evaporation. This still could be done like a coal pit but have the fire under the base of the stone like the Romans did for their bathhouses.
  15. Finite liquid?

I remember a nice mod called "finite liquid" which has been abandoned.http://djoslin.info/finiteliquid.php as far as I know. I have heard the possibility of being able to move water via pipe or duct in the future and would like to support that particular idea but also to have the finite water mechanics so water acts in a way it is suppose too. Example : Large bodies of water would remain infinite but smaller bodies could be pumped or drained dry.
  16. Combat Revamp Opinion Poll

As far as pvp is concerned and no pun intended; unless the game is made for pvp from the get go it usually never works out in the end as far as balance. Also good pvp games have patch after patch after patch. Its a never ending balancing act. I would like to see weight and most of all shields implemented for some sort of defense against those skeleton archers other than running away and hiding around a corner. Also the crossbow and longbow were a threat to heavy armor not a regular field bow.
  17. More/ More Realistic Ores

I haven't gotten to the last tier steels to experience the tool advantages but it seems blue and red steel are really only good for moving lava and placing water. Also stuff like titanium and even stainless steel more than likely require electricity and acid compounds to get the alloys to separate and line up on a atomic level. I personally think some of the useless ores need some love before introducing more other ores. Back on topic though, more realistic ores would be a nice thing as far as passively learning geology/chemistry while having fun doing it.
  18. Post your TFcraft Pictures

This is a small tour of our main hub on the server me and my two friends play on. The seed is, minnesota , if you want to see the virgin terrain.
  19. [Solved] Chisel problems

If your on a server and its only making 1/2 blocks, do a server stop and restart, that usually fixes it for me.
  20. Thanks for the positive feedback. Had a great day yesterday, we set up a outpost a mile away because graphite was pretty elusive were we where mining and hit two graphite deposits! We have enough to make 6 crucibles and found vast underground rivers exposing lots of iron so the tech dry spell has ended. Now for red stone n gold and of course. =)
  21. Recently I started a underground tunnel to get to the other side of the large lake we have at our starting prospect. It starts with a 3X3 staircase going down to level 60, then a 3> X 4^ tunnel and continuing to the other side. After digging a while i realized there is a ton of water above me and it hit me, I can really do some good exploratory sluicing down here. So every hundred blocks I would dig a water shaft to bring water down to a sluice. I have worked on a drill rig for five months and it is pretty much the same practice as far as mapping out what ore is where. In short I plan on making a grid under the whole lake with sluices to better triangulate because as of now its only a straight line. Ill put a short video up to show what it looks like. The video has no commentary, its more of a visual aid. On the lake bottom/seafloor, have a ladder block the hole you start to keep the water out. Then when finished digging to the sluice, go back up and break the ladder. Now you have a water source that you can use later for deeper or higher sluicing; making large bodies of water work for you rather than against you.
  22. Yes your right Frank, it is tedious on some level. My main point of the post is not finding ores in the fastest possible way but more to the tune of making use of all the water above on the surface. In RL up were i live they have been drilling and mapping out a area for over 10 years now. One reason is to find were the ores and precious metals are and the other is to map out the geological fractures in the ground to make the safest shafts possible. Pit mining is not environmentally friendly so they are resorting back to shaft mining. It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to do this so it is a heavy resource sink; in a sense this method has a good level of beliveability. . As of right now I am setting up the grid tunnel, my other friend is searching for graphite, while my 3rd friend is kinda like the supply line, bringing sand food and water and so forth. In vanilla we worked on a server legit from beta 5.1 up to last april resulting in a 1.2 gig world save. we cleared deserts of all sand moved vast lakes and so forth but vanilla MC just got easier and easier with every patch so we kinda got bored of not feeling any accomplishment. We are 90's gamers and like games with lots of depth, tedium, and unforgiveness which this mod delivers. So yes the grid method it's self is not for everyone but getting water down to were you want a sluice can be done this way via the lake method.
  23. How about a Smoke house and trap lines?

I thought of a practical use for the smoke house could be just for meats. Cut the hunger replenishment cooked cold meat gives you like the meals. If the meat is smoked it will have a greater hunger recovery than just cooked yet cold. Or use smoked meat for effects in meals and so forth.
  24. Frank , thanks for the link,I have not had a hard time finding what the sluice detects. When the guy is talking about the sluice not detecting the magnitite right under it, he seems to forget the sluice is like a slot machine selecting one block out of all of the blocks. 66 gravel in the sluice can easly overlook the ore right under it given its got 1,000 plus blocks to scan. I have pumped sand into a sluice finding tetralite and nothing else for days and one day a sample of bismuth shows up. thats over 200+ blocks of sand. Mabye it is bugged or was but I've had no problems finding what it shows. cpy; "Isn't it faster just to dig? :D" you seemed to have a different tone when searching for graphite and yes something is very wrong with how hard it is to find that stuff becouse it is not rare, its almost mythical.
  25. Thanks for the correction Kitty. I'll eventually have some tracks put in after I get some more iron ores.
