      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Moving chiseled blocks

Why not make a new tool that functions similar to how ice tongs used to, you pick up a single block with it, and while the block is being carried by the tool you can't switch out from the tool or the block drops. Provides a means of moving custom blocks, though at the cost of time and effort.
  2. I'd much rather a person spend their time killing people in a video game than using those same urges on actual people. A person mentally derailed enough to shoot others at random will do so without needing input from a video game. The larger problem is that people migrate from sad to angry, usually wanting for attention, and know they will get attention by hurting others. Start a policy where violent criminals are stricken from history altogether and you might take that away from them, rather than plastering them on every television set for weeks or months to immortalize them in everyone's mind.
  3. Horse Cart and pole drag

You're on the internet, you're a man between the age of 14 and 45.
  4. You cant skip the night

I build a home because while 7 blocks and a door will make me safe inside, eventually I want to go outside and tame the world, and it's harder to do when I have to keep an eye out to make sure creepers haven't hidden behind a nearby tree.
  5. Coffee Snobs

    Sweet tea.
  6. Tiny Tweaks Metathread

A few good ones in there though, makes me wish this thread wasn't unmaintained anymore.
  7. Quivers and Shields

I think clicking to block an arrow (unless the window in which you can block it is fairly large) will be just shy of worthless on SMP. Now if you can click and hold to block that'd be another story. Could make it penalize speed by 50% or something to make it not the click-to-win button.
  8. The Hoe

Also: game is still beta, even the propick and bloomery changed over time, both older features. There's always a chance that the hoe will tell less information. In the end though even if it does tell you the exact nutrient type, you are still required to have the knowledge of what that means for growing your crops and if you should plant a specific type of crop there or not. If it was less specific than this, then the only way to plant any type of plant with any level of success would be to mass plant it and hope that at least 50% of the time you planted the things on the right blocks. At least till fertilizer comes out anyways.
  9. "A new Age"

Welcome to the forums friend. I'll assume you haven't read much here, but just so you know, machines of anything beyond pre-industrial isn't going to happen according to the developers, and I'm not sure if windmills were shot down, but I think they were given a stern eyebrow of concern. I'd recommend you do a search on topics if you aren't sure if they've been posted before, as people here tend to get ornery. Also, double posting will bring on the wrath of the immortal Aztec gods.
  10. The Hoe

The self toggle works great: you don't use the feature that offends you, and the info won't work it's way onto your computer screen. Since the benefit to using the feature isn't so groundbreaking as to make it impossible to be better than your neighbors in SMP, the self toggle would seem the best method, requiring no additional coding, time, or effort on the parts of the people working on other features as well.
  11. Horse Cart and pole drag

Weird, I was under the impression that everyone had heard that the bird is the word.
  12. Killster, is your profile picture a distorted picture of a Krogan?
  13. Animals!

This was actually discussed in another thread, and frankly it makes more sense than all of the animals going (chicken - head) mode. Of course, if the concept of a pack leader or anything like that ever comes up, the bull of a pack attacking you if you attack one of its pack would be cool as well.
  14. [B66] Maize

Even with maize sometimes dropping more than one ear of corn, it still won't yield as much flour and thus bread as the grains like wheat/rye/rice/etc, so it's probably ok if it drops more than one.
  15. Animals!

Wonder if it's possible to make a fairly large mob that can simply step over barriers that aren't 4 or more blocks high.
  16. Horse Cart and pole drag

    War; war never changes.
  17. Artist looking to help out

Very nice, the only thing making this look any worse than Skyrim is the fact that it's pasted on metric cubes. Otherwise, very nice indeed.
  18. Suggestion: barrels!

Oh I never said anything about nourishing. You'd probably die from poisoning from heavy metals and whatnot, but the point stands, that gun (placed in my stomach long enough without my dying for long enough) will eventually dissolve.
  19. Quivers and Shields

Only if you can shield bash with the shield by left clicking. The concept of something being activated by being next to something else in the inventory has already been implemented with hammers next to chisels, so I imagine the brunt of the work needed is done to make shields activate when placed next to swords.
  20. Suggestion: barrels!

  21. Suggestion: barrels!

    Deep fried ingot. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
  22. Trees won't grow nor can be found

I found a similar seed when I made a world to test farming, it took about 30 minutes to finally find trees. The trick is to pick one direction and walk that way for a good 10-15 minutes, if that doesn't yield trees, aim 90 degrees left or right and go that way. Or if you have rei's just go south or north.
  23. TFCF (Recipe Tracker)

You can make a manual cookbook using a quill and book combo. I used one for recording locations of ore nodes when I recently did a runthrough without rei's minimap, worked great.
  24. Walls of text

Sadly, many walls of text are poorly written and a number who write them are unwilling to go back and reread their own wall of text to proof read it prior to mashing post. This isn't to say everyone does that of course, and I enjoy detailed posts, especially ones that are thoughtful. But that category is more rare than I'd like.
