      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Storage for big blocks

When I'll have the motivation I'll write an addon for this. I don't know yet anything about MC modding, but in my earlier days I made some scripts, small softwares, so... damn you Assassins Creed, XCOM and your friends, leave me be! I need time for coding! Bah!
  2. [TFC 0.79.23+] Merchants Addon for TFC

With the new version (something.19) it works.
  3. [0.79.17] TFC Music Resource Pack

How did you make it work? Did you have any issues with Hardcore Darkness? Because as I mentioned when I enable your resource pack, the HD doesn't work.
  4. An Idea

I have an Idea. This is only a sketch, an idea, not a working or even a complete plan. You may know Thaumcraft. There's a neat system to learn to make new stuffs. I've thinking why wouldn't work the Minecraft someway like this? I mean the origin plan as I know was that you by yourself start to try many recipes, and you'll learn how to make tools and others. That's boring taking too much time and there are Wikies. Pfft. If you want some interesting challenge you can use the "Idea" addon what's working someway like Thaumcraft. You're new on the world, there's not much to do. You take sticks from the trees and some pebbles. Congrats, you've just take enough XP to have the tier 0 Idea: javelin. Well, try something new, like using pebble on another: you've got a tier 1 Idea! Select or get random idea for shovel head, knife head, others. It would be a copyable "item". I'll explain later. Because you're on the level 1, and you know the "tools", you don't have to step on a next level, just learn about tools and the problems like sand, dirt, crops, and you'll get the other head ideas. You'll have to work with things to get an idea like "I always bring stuffs in my hand, and I have no place to put them." -> storages Idea! You can learn boxes, chests, bags! These are easy and quick ideas to "feel" the way. I don't want to be it too complex, just some tiny levels, materials, but that would made more meaning to multiplayer. For example, you don't have any Idea about metal working, there's no way to create a scythe. But you have the Idea of "I need something what can reap fast crops", a "scythe Idea". You have a "book", which contains your ideas. You can copy the scythe idea and give it to your friend who doesn't even think about agriculture, but know much about smithing and as you give him your Idea, he'll learn a little bit of agriculture and he could craft the plan of a scythe head. Or you know much about logistics (learned by carrying and storing things, using your hands and handcarts), you'll get the Idea of transporting on tramways (I'm using Google translater, sorry if I wrote wrong expressions ), you can give it to the person who know about smithing and materials and boom, there's the Idea of tracks and minecarts! I'm thinking about Idea categories, how could it need the less resources and which would they be, like: Tools Materials Agriculture Husbandry Smithing Building Metallurgy Mechanics Fighting Logistics Arts etc. I don't want this to be too complicated, but it would be a bit more interesting to play. Let's discuss it!
  5. An Idea

Well, may I don't know how to make it in a proper way, but this "planselection" is a real pain for me. Everytime I put my ingot back to the anvil after heating, I have to select the plan again quickly before the meta loses too much heat again. I don't like it.
  6. Paper

With washi (paper) you would make paper walls, books if you need them, and of course if you can enable an option or addon for learning which needs notes and/or books.
  7. [Solved - Vanilla Bug] Extremely annoying lighting bug

Not even with a big WARNING sign? How couldn't update something if it's already in a state? Or that's the point? Basically TFC load the block itself as it is - like torch -, but doesn't care about it's state until blockupdate?
  8. [Solved - Vanilla Bug] Extremely annoying lighting bug

Have you heard about this? I don't know why, but extinguished torches still have light. This could be vanilla too, but interesting.
  9. Paper

That's true. I found sugarcanes, but none of reeds yet, that's why I thought. No need to remove. They are not, they would be if parchment replaces it.
  10. Paper

I use RecipeResearch mod in TFC where I need lots of paper. I'm in a quite cold area where I don't think sugarcanes can grow well. So making paper is a bit hard. I think sawing a log sould give some wood pulp too. From sticks you would make a frame, fill it with strings. Water and pulp would make a mix, put the stringed frame in it. I saw a video where with aluminium grid made the paper, but here it isn't an option. I think the strings can be hard enough to hold the pulp, but you won't be able to slice the paper from it, so you'll have a stringed paper, but hey, who cares? And/or you could make books from leather.
  11. Inventory "overhacking"

Thanks, my choose of word wasn't for a quip.
  12. Inventory "overhacking"

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the support forum? (Yes/No): Yes I have general question I'm trying other mods, like Infinite Invo from Funwayguy to decrease the number of slots, but it doesn't work. I think because TFC hacks the inventory too. Could that be possible? Yep, I asked him about that already.
  13. [0.79.17] TFC Music Resource Pack

Do you use Hardcore Darkness? Because when I use your resource pack, it became useless, no more darkness.
  14. [TFC 0.79.23+] Merchants Addon for TFC

With updated Forge and Merchants: http://pastebin.com/r8wqpxch
  15. [TFC 0.79.23+] Merchants Addon for TFC

    Oops. Okay, sorry. Merchants: 1.0.30Forge: 10.12.2.1230 Java:I don't know yet, it's on a remote server. Log:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1481846/fml-server-latest.log
  16. [TFC 0.79.23+] Merchants Addon for TFC

This is with Merchants 1.0.29, but it's the same with .30. 17. TFC rewrite suggestions

Would be the new world generation more realistic? For example there's the RWG from Ted, which looks great. Really great. I'd like to play TFC (and mod it) on a land which is more realistic, where ores could be in huge veins long weeks and hard work to mine it, but not everywhere. Of course it can be only an option. I'm working on a pack which has Enviromine, Custom Ore Generation, Nature Overhaul, Hunger Overhaul etc., based on survival, adventure, logistics and strategy. TFC would be much more better base.
  18. Storage for big blocks

Block moving: wood rails, wood carts. Those are the easiest to make in Minecraft.
  19. Compost

Put some sticks, leaves, wood, grass, cover it with dirt, then wait for some days or months (in analogy with real life), any you'll get compost, what you could change with dirt, so you can grow plants faster in colder areas.
  20. Waiting around at night

Earlier in Minecraft - as I remember - you had a chance to get zombies in your face if you tried to sleep in dark place or next to you wall.
  21. Game Mechanic - Metal Failure

Kitty: everybody knows that gold and lead are soft. If not the first, but the second or third use will kill your tool, you'll understand that you can't use those metals. And if you know how much your tool is broken, you can put it back to forge or something and melt it back to a not complete ingot.
  22. Wood pile

I may shouldn't make a new topic for this, but there weren't another one as I saw. I would be happy if you recreate the way of the woodpiling. First: I usually don't want to place down the log itself, but when I'm doing it, I'd like to use Shift, protecting myself from fall down, because I'm up on the house. On the ground I want to pile them, so now I have to Shift + right click, then release shift to place logs. If you'd change it, that would be better. Placing logs with Shift+right is connected to building, simple right click with storing. Or a new modkey to change placing and storing. Second: You can pile up ingots, straw and wood in pit kiln. Why would you do that with the woodpile? I saw in Let's plays and I found myself too in an irritating situation when you can't decide if your pile is full or not, or just have different woods in it. That's sorting problems too, but it would be great if we could see how many logs are in the pile or if it's possible, what kind of logs are there, without opening it up, of course. Thank you!
  23. TFC is missing a goal

The problem is not the goal itself. Problem is, when in vanilla, if you played out to the End, you can install mods with regular ways. TFC-compatible mods are rare, they can't be installed by simple copying, you may need to set up properly. So what will you do after you've reached the blue and red steel? Can you make machines? Can you make some magic? Can you reach the Moon? One of my mate said: "Standing proudly in iron armor, next to my stone house is not my dream of life." TFC gives the difficulty, but it doesn't show much in advance. That's the problem as I understand.
  24. Incompatibility: Open Blocks

OpenBlocks is typical Minecraft mod, fits in its world. Terrafirmacraft is a whole different stuff. For camping you need a new mod for TFC.
  25. Building Damage

Now that will kill your server.
