      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Forge, well, vertical slabs?

I had some ideas, but I didn't know if I could open three topics for them or just this one. So... First: Google, select images, type: forge. Now in TFC if you use forge, you have to "lay" on the side, because a whole block is so wide. A vertical (cobble)stone slab should be enough. Even perfect. How do you make it without saw? Well, two stones vertically? Chiselled block would be good as well, but I think that's a bit more complicated. Based on the type of the original block which shouldn't be wood for example... Well, if I'm talking about forge and it's need of air... Turn it upside down, and make it search for water for work? What did you get? A well! (here was a topic about this, but it's not in the list of suggestions) With prospector's pick you can search for water (why not? It's an idea based on the game: Settlers). Dig down. When you reach the water, climb out. Make a circle around the hole by (cobble)stone. Put two (vertical) support beams on the cobblestones at the opposite sides. Take a (horizontal) support beam and craft it with 8 ropes. Put this rod between the two support beams, and Voilá! You've got a well. Click on it with a bucket, click on the rod, and the bucket is down. Click on it again and the bucket is up, filled with water. Shift click, you'll get the water.
  2. [Sovled] Chiseling the forge

Yep, that's interesting. I've done it above the ground too, with paved block, but I had no luck.
  3. Forge, well, vertical slabs?

As I know even the Minecraft itself count one block wide as 1 meter. I'm not at home, but I saw the statistics and there are so. Oh, and it's not about what I think. It's about how it looks like, how much space does it use for work. How could that be resolved? Stone slabs or covers, or some rethink of the chiselled block so you can use it for forge. As a used to be coder (I'm now at IT, with little need of coding) I know it's not that easy, but in my perspective it's not so hard either.
  4. Forge, well, vertical slabs?

Maybe I used wrong word? Lay, lie, like in bed. Kitty: The forge block itself is too far away. A human arm is about a half meter. The block between the forge and you is one meter. If I want to put a tool or weapon part in the forge with one meter wide side, in real life I had to lean on the block. Lay on it.Those forges on pictures has thin sides because you can reach the charcoal so. I'm playing like I'm in the game, and I "feel" that I can't reach the forge. It's uncomfortable. Not to mention it uses too many space. Sometimes I write and spoke from my feelings and how did I came to a conclusion and that may be confusng. Sorry for that.
  5. [Sovled] Chiseling the forge

Because when you click on the stone with a chisel, it became a "chiselled block". The forge block on the block update start for search on solid blocks arount itself, but there are none, the chiselled block doesn't count as one. It's the same chiselled block if you use stone or even wood, as I understand, and so you could make forge by even wood planks which are a bit interesting. Or you could just leave one little knot next to the forge block, prevent it fell apart... Eh. So nope, you can't make it so.
  6. Improved hunger mechanics upon waking

Your solution is funny. I make a game based on credibility, and your house will jump up in the sky if you leave your windows open. Solution: don't leave them open. What? Does the sleep use percentage of the food? is there an understandable bar for "you are hungry"? Nope, there's a bar, which shows something. No rumbling stomach, do you even have any effect which shows you "Man, you'll DIE, if you don't eat"? I don't remember a thing. Or even a warning for "You're so hungry, you can't sleep".
  7. Switch to bipolar health meters

I see. That would be interesting, but in later phase in developing. It needs overfeeding and others.
  8. Compost

There could be another use for barrel. You can put food in it and it automatically cuts down the decaying parts and start to containt scraps. With bucket you can pick them out and use the bucket in composting bin.
  9. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

There is a mod, called Little Blocks. You can place any kind of block which are smaller than the original, so there's a way, to make it in Minecraft. I think the microblocks needs to be rewrited. As I recall, a block, when you right click on it, became a chiseled block, which contains smaller ones. If you could let the chiseled block accept any kind of blocks to be placed, that would work. My thoughts.
  10. [Solved] Riding horse bug

With ExtraFirma, Advanced Darkness, Dynamic Lights installed only it's the same bug! I think, that's only related to TFC.
  11. Spawning in different place after death?

I found this bug too, and it's really frustrating, because I'm lost in the wild...
  12. Update Frequency Poll

I think you should update for a month, but it don't need to be perfect, just to see you're working on it.
  13. Cats, Rabbits and other Pets

    Ssssssssssssiege!
  14. Any guide on how to code my own TFC addon?

So we , until I'll some it.
  15. Any guide on how to code my own TFC addon?

When will it be? I mean 2-3 years or 1-2 weeks max?
  16. How to solve the lose of crops in winter.

Is there a way to change the long of the year? I don't think that's so hard to script it. There has to be a variable which gives you the length of a year.
  17. How to solve the lose of crops in winter.

I didn't read the whole thing, but greenhouse?
  18. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Put the axe next to it. And read the wiki.
  19. Crack a joke

Why did the chicken cross the road? He's fleeing. His family was grinded by a combine.
  20. Automitons in TFC

I think there is so much to do in TFC, and automatons need many prerequisites. Cogs, fan belts, steel rods, miniaturization, boilers, pipes. Don't forget, TFC is trying to be believable, it won't work just because. Machines for specific goals would be much easier. I'd like to get automatons, but with their prerequisites you can make better machines.
  21. For Nether: there was a mod, I cant find it since months, what made multiple dimensions in one. When you've reached the bedrock, there was only obsidian. If you've broken it, you just fell to the Nether. that was awesome, but I can't find it!
  22. Studying seeds..

I have a post about learning, seeds could have a place in that: http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/5082-an-idea/
  23. 1: Brewing is acceptable I think, but much more like alcohol (I feel really strong now!), teas, health stuffs IRL. 2: Golems are too high-tech things to be in TFC. 3, 4: No magic, no other dimensions, maybe when TFC became much-muxh more complicated and quantum.technology gives the possibility to jump in a new dimension. That won't be made tomorrow. All stuffs can be placed in Overworld. 5: For new lights you don't need beacons. For light sources you could make lanterns, kerosene/paraffin/oil lamps. For long distance travelling there is a good example in OpenBlocks an item called "path", which you could make by cobblestone.
  24. Nomadic/exploratory shelter

There is or was a mod for Minecraft, called CampCraft. There's a block what you click on, you get a quick tent. If you replace the glass plane texture (and make a new block of course) that could be the side of the tent, which is better than wool blocks. There are slopes in Minecraft, like tracks and in the mod Carpenters' Blocks. You can take the method from there for the other sides of the tent.
  25. An Idea

The key is the need. You'll get an idea when you need it. You may played games which needed to repeat things to get level up or money. Like killing boars in WoW (maybe. South Park). That's frustrating. Doing things constantly. In Minecraft you have to do things not to level up, but get better resources. What's understandable. You can't get diamond with your naked ass. You'll need a certain mod for that... You have a purpose, a goal what you'd like to do and start to focus on that. That would come easier to you than anyone else, and your work and knowledge will be valuable. And it have to be flowing to get. Not easy, but not recurrent. I'm thinkig about focus. You can set what you focus on. Those will get more points. For example when you focus on smithing, and you're fighting, you'll start to think "Dayum, this sword is dull. How could I make it sharper? Well, stone can make stone sharper. Maybe this will work too." You've get the idea of sharpener. And some worktable which can be used anytime but usually before you're going to sleep in MC, to collect your learned things and select an idea for work on.
