      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Environmental Dangers

True, sparklers can burn as hot as lava, but consider this: a sparkler is a limited high exposure random rated heat, of which cannot harm you by irradiating the air around it due to it's small size. Also note that a pool or lake or steam of magma is high concentrated molten stones and metals, with enough mass to irradiate most of the air around to high degrees, and is high and long exposure in order for you to "Bucket it" let alone stand next to it. Point in case Mass = Heat. Small 9 inch random burst sparkler, compared to high constant large mass of lava or magma. Also pointing out that thermite burns hotter than lava, and instantly turns sand to glass. The pros of a chemical engineer brother http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparkler http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermite

Silver could be pieces o' 8?
  3. Environmental Dangers

Ok, talking about this in the IRC channel here is what we came up with 1) Iron melts at 1538c 2) Lava (whats on the surface) has a temperature range of: 700-1200c 3) Magma (Whats below the surface) has a temperature range of: 700-1300c -Crysyn Me: 1700 F = 926.6 C Researched, and owned. http://www.doobybrain.com/2009/05/16/what-is-the-melting-point-of-a-human/
  4. Clay bricks?

    Derps :3
  5. Environmental Dangers

Your picture also shows him dragging the molten rock away from the mass... Note the solidified stone sitting near his feet, and on his mattox
  6. Environmental Dangers

Minecraft lava is MAGMA so unless lava gets changed, then nope my point still stands
  7. Environmental Dangers

That's extrusive igneous stone at a melting temperature, at which case moving it a away any distance from the large mass would cause it to solidify... so yeah
  8. Clay bricks?

The pyramids were made of large perfectly cubic limestone bricks that were so perfect no mortar was need for the base or insides, it was only used for slopes
  9. Clay bricks?

    Stargate SG-1?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  10. volcanic forgeing and smithing

I stand by this one hundred percent. If believable is the word, then no lava forges. in fact, no homes near lava.
  11. Clay bricks?

    They think they used ramps.
  12. Clay bricks?

Maybe, i don't know? Research monsieur?
  13. Firepits

Suggested some of this in my Cooking overhaul thread. Good to see support for the idea of a spit!
  14. Clay bricks?

Clay walls like mud brick or like actual clay? Your in a suggestions thread, be more specific. Really, this could be a good idea if bioxx and the dev's haven't thought of it.
  15. More Sluicing & Panning

Lol'd at guy. and understand how you guys feel this is believable, but i don't like games that don't say: hey, here's what you got, you found this, this is this go find it.
  16. More Sluicing & Panning

Noted, still busy work added to a busy work game.
  17. Clay bricks?

but what kind of clay bricks? We're not gonna have vanilla bricks, simply due to the fact that those are far too advanced for this era. Those are at least 18th century style bricks.
  18. I'm on the fence. unless this somehow can play into the future building update (a.k.a paper walls and stuff) Then i see no use for it... Really, who uses paper that much in TFC anyways?
  19. More Sluicing & Panning

    Thaum***** Research, Abort, ABORT ABORT!!!!!!
  20. Time Period appropriate Insulation(Too hot or To cold)

No promises, but if you've seen dunk's speel you'd know about their semi-plan and why this may come into play.
  21. Me being 14 and only having been on this earth a limited time, already grow weary of stupid architecture and foolish implementation of A/C systems among other things. So Bioxx i hope your listening, or you Dunk, cause maybe this has stufff to add to your overhaul of my favorite thing: building. ________________________________________________________________________________ Comforts: Insulation- I like history, and as such look towards it for engineering ideas and the stuff. Now, the appropriated time period as stated by the dear lord Bioxx, had multiple ways of insulating and cooling homes and dwellings. For example, Montezuma Castle shows us that in the Arid climate of the southwest, many natives used the shade of mountains and wind from the altitude to cool their Mud brick homes, a.k.a. pueblos, and their is evidence mud was used with early wooden structures in near the Nile to keep the houses Cooled. In the Northern regions of Europe, straw was used to keep the homes warm and retain heat. of course, there were large flammability issues, which is why you see villages burnt to the ground in all those darned movies. In China, paper was used to cool and insulate homes and buildings, and sometimes buildings had open air layouts to let wind circulate. Tudor homes are built in a fashion so that sunlight dose not permeate the windows when the sun is highest and the day hottest, with a stepping fashion of floors. ______________________________________________________________________________ Moar Mechanics: A debuff for when you get too hot or too cold? Maybe keep it at a universal one, such as slowness or hunger. Also, a semi-different physics layout as the IC2 Scaffolding, in order to make tudors, but not crazy houses. MOAR FEEDBACK PLOX!
  22. Dirt Roads

    /thread :3
  23. volcanic forgeing and smithing

Still the entire environmental danger of lava = Nonexistence....
  24. New Alloy: Electrum

An official TFC server just for us forum/ page members? Why, what a great idea Lum!
