      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. In game username: Silentveteren How long have you been playing TFC: 1 year. started about 3 years ago, played off and on since. around 500+ hours. Why do you want to join the Hard Core group?: I'm looking for a fairly large TFC group that offers the protection of Townie, without the game advantage teleport gives. I was also impressed by the magnitude of the spawn town, as it is something I have tried to make before, a huge, detailed town. I've built large scale before, but never with such good detail, and not nearly as large. Have you fully read and understand what you are applying for?: Yes. How do you get to the Hard Core World?: Travle to the Wallbridge Outpost and take the HMS Hardcore How do you return to the normal world?: You can opt out of hardcore, but can never return afterwords. You won't keep any of the items you had before.
  2. Animals Will not follow or mate with food.

Though I doubt this is helpful, I don't think animals are meant to mate with food. I mean, who ever heard of a slice of tomato and a cow together?
  3. I've done it! What next?

Lets see some pics of your castle. One of the harder parts of TFC ( IMHO ) is the difficulty of large scale building. I personally love making overwhelmingly large fortresses, ( latest was a 12 high, 4 thick wall around a perimeter of 250x150, with towers at the corners, and a big ole keep at the center, I never managed to finish the keep though )
  4. Day of the birth of Dunk

It's never to early to celebrate a birthday. I usually just celebrate my birth month, all 31 days of it. And if I REALLY need an excuse for eating that cheesecake, I can say that my birth month is part of this year, so its my birth year as well.
  5. question on crafting space

  6. Question about salt

The main point of video games is to simulate believability without being *realistic* Who would want to play a game where you have to walk out of your IRL house, and search for metals in nearby rocks? Not me. However, when you can instead use a mouse to have a fictional character do that work for you, it adds an interesting concept that can let you be super hard working while being incredibly lazy. I doubt anyone here would like to live in a TFC world ( the real world, but without people and our industry ) and have to do all the stuff in real life. However, the *simulation* of doing that gives a sense of enjoyment and achievement, as well as teaching you new ideas ( Look at the chats, people researched about the salinity of average sea water just to talk about the game ) TL;DR, I agree with bioxx's decision, and agree with his use of gameplay mechanics ( and you probably do too, for the most part, as you play TFC ) TY Bioxx for the response clarifying your point, not many game makers ( Inventors? designers? whatever ) take the time to talk with their community about anything, let alone their reasoning behind their game mechanics.
  7. Your chisel creations!!

  8. Can chickens restore their hunger?

    * Cough Cough * Blame the Devs * Cough Cough * xD
  9. Post your TFcraft Pictures

I really want to post the pics of my castle, but its in such an incomplete state that I dont dare...
  10. Chiseled Ice Blocks ( Refrigeration? )

With decay being affected by temperature, and as body heat will eventually implemented, the ability to cool down an area has become an important part of TFC. Darkness, elevation and latitude are currently the main ways of doing this, but I feel that it would be a good idea to expand the ways of decreasing heat. Many players have talked about igloo like refrigerators, and while this was indeed a valid way of preserving foods in older times, does it make an interesting mechanic to place in TFC? My thoughts : Current features include a chisel, and smoothing stone, making implementation of a chiseled iceblock seem like a fairly easy thing to code. ( not taking into account the difficulty of coding a chilling effect focused around a specific block ) Players in hotter environments could use the ice collected during the winter years or from colder areas ( high mountains, being closer to the poles, etc ) to stave off the heat. A block of ice doesnt naturally reduce temperature, it is the energy used to melt the ice that reduces the average temperature of the air. This makes it seem that the best way to implement this idea is to add a timer, representing the speed of the melting, on each ice block based on the temperature of an area, and a corresponding drop in temperature for the duration. Also, ICE CASTLE! Thoughts?
  11. [Solved] Salting fails on Shift Click

Version #: 78.6 Suggested Name:Salting fails on Shift Click Suggested Category:Minor Description: When crafting salted meat, shift-clicking the product out fails to add the *salted* tag, but still uses the salt. Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: No Crash
  12. ( Fixing Later ) Smithing skill does not affect Bloom

Thank you. I can see it increasing General Smithing skill. I wonder what smithing will actually do in the future. Maybe difficult recipes are unlocked, or allowing skilled players to not have to get the arrows aligned exactly.
  13. Hotfix #: 78.5 Suggested Name: Bloom Skill Suggested Category:Annoying Description: When working bloom ( refining, splitting, or turning into ingots ) no smithing skill is used ( remains at 0% ) While I am not sure this is not intended, it does not seem to fit with the skills in general, and may simply have been overlooked, or it may be a true bug. Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report: No Crash
  14. What is the crafting requirements for Rope?

    thank you.
  15. I saw in the patch notes that Rope was added to replace Leads, and that Jute is used to craft them. I placed the jute in a water barrel, and got Jute fibers. I now have a lot of jute fibers, and have tried many different crafting patterns, but cannot figure out how to make rope. I checked creative mode and found that rope does exist. Does anyone know how to craft rope?
