      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Go to hell

Im not entirely sold on the idea of 'time in nether = magic'. What if mobs or something (maybe new mobs like the crazy demon things that fell from the sky in Warcraft 3) could provide some drops which could be combined with gems (at the proposed enchanted state) to sort of charge them. I see people making safe houses in the nether and and just afk'ing while waiting for their gems to power up, where as with a mob drop, or some other type of earned reward, they would have to participate in that last step beyond 'place jar, wait'. Not entirely sure about the mecahnics behind it, but perhaps their drop rate is related to armor rating, or something so that players would need to progress far enough through the teirs to even make use of the enchanted gems, and even then, have to fight op mobs for drops to charge them.
  2. How do you make glass?

You put sand in a forge and wait forever!... seriously it wont say its getting hot or anything, it will just turn to glass at some point, but it takes FOREVER
  3. Thats unfortunate. It looks like there are both unix and mac flavors of MultiMc, which may be your best bet if what Ryudo says is true and Mac's really do suck that much. The tool is available from http://forkk.net/MultiMC/ Getting that tool, a freshly downloaded minecraft.jar file, and all of the mods required for TFC should do the trick.
  4. Propick, how do you WORK?

I too have difficulty using the propick. Seems like whats worked best for me, is finding a location whre you find traces of an ore specifically on one block, but not the one next to it (after verifying with serveral uses of the pic to eliminate false positives) This lets you know what direction the ore must be, and the distance give or take a few few blocks. It doesnt always work, and I've often joked on my server that I would have better luck leading a chicken into the mine and following it around, than I do using the propic. Time and experience will likely change that though.
  5. Crashes when I load a world

    My work here is done
  6. Out of curiositiy, why not get around all the problems people have installing this mod, by releasing a built version of the minecraft.jar file (with just the dependencies, and TFC) along with the builds? It seems it would solve a whole lot of trouble, and make the adoptability of mods like this considerably higher.
  7. Antigriefing

    Good point, thanks!
  8. So I'm installing some other mods.

Having both FML and modloaderMP broke the jar file for me. Try just using FML.
  9. Built Minecraft.jar file download

Thanks, the ui is a bit rough, and I should really move some of the logic for creating all the directories and jar files off to some other thread (on a slower machine you might get a "Program not responding" message while the program creates the jar files and whatnot), so there is plenty of room for improvement, but it does work. On the FTP site, the word document with the instructions (Using MCModInstaller.docx)has some screenshots. Later on ill put the source code out there too (dont really care who uses it, or what they use it for). Also there is no installer ATM, just the exe and the resources for it. Windows 7 like to claim it didnt install correctly lol if it does for you just ignore the message. I could fix that with an installer, or something.
  10. Built Minecraft.jar file download

Ok so I quick set up an FTP site on my machine here at home. I wont post the address here, without permission, but if anyone would like to use this creation, and see a short document on how to use it, message me and I can send you the URL to the FTP site.
  11. Built Minecraft.jar file download

And about technic and other modloaders, sure you could do that, but to my knowledge the technic guys arent posting on this forum, and offering their services and contributions ;P. Regardless... Even if no one but me and my friends use this app, I enjoyed writing it.
  12. Built Minecraft.jar file download

Seconded. On that note, I have written a working verison of this modloader / installer. I have it set up so that it can be distributed with the zip / jar files for this mod and its dependencies with no proprietary assemblies from mojang. So without violating any of the EULA contracts for MC, I have successfully written in installer. Even more, I set it up so that user can define multiple configurations for MC in this app and manage/launch them right from there. All of the configurations load indepdently of one another so they have their own Worlds, last login info, etc. Now all I need is support from the Mod developers . Ill try to get some screenshots uploaded.
  13. A gun...

doesnt mean I can't like the idea
  14. Built Minecraft.jar file download

Well thats the thing Eternal. I have many users of my bukkit server whom I've told about the mod, and hands down, the biggest reason I've seen personally for people not trying it out, its the somewhat advanced nature of the install process. Making it easier for people to install is just an obvious step in the right direction... Telling people to suck it up and do it the old fashioned way is the opposite of progress
  15. Built Minecraft.jar file download

Or better yet, enhance the tool to work like the one I made for me and my friends, which launches terrafirmacraft without using the appdata/.minecraft directory as its working directory at all. That way, it would just be a tool, with the mods, that copies an existing install of MC out into some other directory and runs a parallel version of MC with TFC on it
  16. Built Minecraft.jar file download

I assumed it had something to do with licensing... but what if say... I, or bioxx or someone made a tool that copied out the minecraft.jar file from appdata, then merged all the jar files in a given directory into the copy, and spit out the jar file on ur desktop or something? Im pretty sure I could write that in less than an hour, but have no place to host such a thing. If it is legal, perhaps a nice alternative to hosting a minecraft.jar download, would be to to as platoon suggested and include the latest version of the dependencies, and TFC along with this tool, so that a user just downloads the tool, runs it, and bamb, instant jar file.
  17. Indeed, you need to craft stone tools from knapping, cant just man handle a tree
  18. A gun...

I love the idea of a flint lock rifle or pistol just like the description near the top, with reloading steps, durability, and as a top tier craftable.
